Glimmar- excellent resource pack! I have been enjoying it for some time, building my own city. I have a problem with the last 2 updates. The Nether brick fence texture does not show up correctly - it is just the regular brick.
Edit: Also, none of the paintings are in motion.
Any help from Glimmar or others would be appreciated!
BTW the stained glass is amazing!
I agree on the "time issue" Glimm, and my human cloning machine is still in the concept stages. As it is i think it's a down right lie there's 24hrs in a day as it feels decidedly less in my little world! Pfft and of course you have to throw that thing called SLEEP on top of it all once in a while.........
Well, if I get my 'time stasis' machine working ...I think I've got all the parts for it ...then I'll let you have a copy of the prototype, but only if I can have a copy of that human cloning machine.
...I'm afraid new stone for me was not something i wanted to spend too much time on hence its functional but it will get another look at later date maybe
So, I await your stone'y delights with anticipation and intrigue
Haha! It was also my intention not to spend a lot of time on the new stone, but with my issues it never ever turns out like that, hence why I'm most definitely not on a par with other super-humans around here...I'm about to throw in the towel and just use dynamite!
"Take my good will! TAKE IT!" A famous quote from something I forgot, but I feel it applies perfectly to this situation
Just dropped by to see the updates to the last version since Ive been away from Minecraft for a while, and your pack just keeps getting better and better Glim! You really are a fantastic artist and very VERY modest. If I were you Id just ramble on and on about how truly amazing I was Best of luck in future updates
Hiya, Jester! Glad you like the new stuff so far, and always nice to have you popping in. Hope the work/studies are going ok, and hope you find some time to take it easy, if not with Minecraft, then with something equally creative.

Edit: Nevermind! Downloaded latest MCPatcher - everything works.
Back to my desalination plant and my industrial rail line!
Glad you got MCPatcher sorted, Heatmiser70.
Getting out of step with MCPatcher is very easy to do...I'm forever puzzling over why something isn't working and then realizing I've got the profile manager set to download snapshots, etc. I just wasted a couple of precious hours last night wondering why I couldn't change my 'glass_silver' texture for the new scaffold/girder texture. Every time I dropped in the new texture, the old industrial glass bricks kept showing up! Re-installed MCPatcher...still the industrial glass! Then the penny dropped, that of all the stained glass, the silver stained glass has some random ctm textures to negate annoying patterns - once I got rid of that, everything was fine of course. It's easily done when Minecraft and MCPatcher create so many possibilities.
Many thanks for the encouraging words too...always much appreciated.
Just thought I'd keep you all posted, especially as you've all been such ladies and gentlemen.
Here are a couple of pics to show it is possible to have both 'slime Gas Bag' block together with the new 'girder/scaffold/fence/window-like' replacement for the silver stained glass:
There are currently over 20 variations of the girder texture, some better than others, but this is my current favorite. Using the slime block for the girder texture undoubtedly gave more depth and complexity as a superstructure. Therefore, because I'm now swapping out what is my least favorite stained glass texture (the industrial glass bricks) for the scaffold texture, I've had to add an extra vertical and horizontal strut to give it a little more depth, due to MC backface culling.
By the way, I'm purposefully not 'homing-in' on the 'stone_andesite', which is present in the pics above, in case I have to edit it in relation to what I come up with for the rest of the stone, but it gives you something to be going on with...sorry!
I'm also starting with the rough stone versions first, then the 3 polished slabs and finally, if there's time, the old standard stone with it's ores, but that's a big job, as it will either be a lot of random textures or a 16x16 repeat pattern of 64x textures with random ores somehow blended in. I'm practising on the new stone first, but it's a bit of a juggling game, don't expect miracles and keep praying I don't drop everything and go back to my padded cell!
Any miraculous spare time that might turn up will be spent updating some of the old 32x items...starting with the worst offenders!
Most of the work of updating the gui that Mojang edited has been done, so I really hope they don't go making lots of last minute changes...which for them is little to no work (graphics-wise), but is pretty involved for some of my gui screens.
Glimmar, no matter what I say, it wont express how amazed I am with what you have done, just looks beyond awesome, the girders look astounding, and opens up imagination to where to use them and on what, keep up the tremendous effort and work on this Glimmar, and please dont change the torches if they are on your update list , I take my hat off to your skill and craft mate
Many thanks to you too, BullJaw...much appreciate the kind words.
Glad you think the same way about the girders. For myself Minecraft opened up the possibility to build things we previously could only imagine...and then walk among those creations. It's important to me to try to design building blocks and features that expand, rather than restrict (by too narrow a theme), what structures can be built, which I see as largely Victorian, classical, gothic and industrial, with that vein of retro-future tech running throughout...materials for epic 'what-if' imaginations.
Don't worry, the 'lamp' torches will stay exactly as they are. I might have a go at updating the redstone torches though...just for a break from stone!
I have been a long time lurker … and admirer of your work. And, I would like to return something back to the community. I use a number of Mods, and really, really needed to retexture them to fit with your texture pack.
I have retextured (to one degree or another), the following:
Buildcraft
Additional Buildcraft Objects
Archimedes
Bibliocraft
Craftguide
EnderIO
Forestry
Jammy Furniture
Millenaire (Including many of the Mobs)
Minefactory Reloaded
Netherores
Railcraft
Traincraft
Tinkers Construct
Better Dungeons (Including many of the Mobs)
Zolandre Additional Doors
Edit: These are for 1.6.4
I have added a couple screenshots of the work I have done with MineFactory Reloaded.
The only issue I have right now is, having a good repository location so I could share. Any thoughts?

I for one would love to see your work, but the images posted are not broken. The best remedy would be to host them on a site like imgur, and then link to them in your posts here.
I will post the pics to Imgur … would definitely be a better hosting sight for the images.
I was more concerned about a place to host the texture packs for the various mods. I do have a Dropbox account - but, not big enough for all work that I have done (150+ Mb)

Hello, MegistusEligius.
Sounds like a lot of work there, but I can't actually access those screenshots for some reason. Any chance of you using something like Imageshack, imgur or TinyPic then we can see them?
Also, I assume the work is based on my own textures and no-one else's as per my conditions of use?
For hosting the files the best place would be MediaFire. Most users are familiar with downloading stuff from there, but lets see what the work looks like first.
[edit] Whoops! most definitely ninja'd there!
[edit 2] Forgot to say, 'welcome to the forums'. Very rude of me!
apparently I cannot link the screen shots from imgur directly, so, I created an album. I will add more screen shots as time allows.
Yes … I the textures I have used have been taken from your work, or from work that has been posted in this thread to be used for your pack. It can be a bit of a bug-a-boo to get all those mods to blend in seamlessly, especially when trying to create mob skins for millenaire. They are standard player skins, so, a lot of re-adaption.

They look excellent! From what I can see from the size of the pics, everything seems in order with regard to style, etc.
It amazes me that anyone would want to put so much effort into supporting my pack, but, as with all the other generous contributors around here I am very grateful.
ksheep, who, as you probably know has done sterling work in gathering contributions together in the past, is no longer able to continue helping in that role, so not being an expert myself on the subject of mods, it might take me a little while to update all the contributions in my OP, especially bearing in mind my limited free time, MC updates and upgrading the pack to 64x. However, I intend to try and do justice to everyone's contributions by displaying proper credits (possibly with 'banner/signatures' for major contributors).
I think that I am willing to take over KSheep's role - only in that I am doing the mod work anyway and would be willing to compile together anyone else's work. I just opened a MediaFire account … so, when I get the time (prob tonight), I will upload the work that I have completed. I am not sure as to how I will organize it - the folder that I use is over 150 Mb, so makes for a rather large download. So, having the various mods individually linked would probably be the solution.
As far as supporting your mod … not really as big an issue as one might think. You have done all the heavy lifting in developing the core theme and the 'palette' that I use. I certainly wish that I had some of your base texturing files instead of having to readapt what you have posted … but, hey, it is what it is

I've got to say "wow" on that. It really looks good. It's nice to see someone else picking up the mod texturing again (most of the other users that had been working on that front have been strangely silent since around MC 1.5-ish). If you take over organizing and distributing, that would also be great, as I've been a bit strapped for time lately (recently graduated, searching for jobs, etc).
I've just recently gotten enough free time to play, but haven't been able to get back to organizing submissions, and I had my main hard drive fail earlier this week which further complicated things. Just now got my computer running again and most of my stuff back (hooray for backups), but not everything was recovered, so I lost some of my Minecraft stuff. I've also returned to playing with modded Minecraft (took a bit of a hiatus, playing vanilla only), so I'll definitely look into using these textures once you upload them. It'll be nice to have this texture pack again when playing (just as I was getting used to the vanilla textures, go figure).
Anyway, good luck with this, and thanks for offering to take up the reigns. Also, welcome to the forum!

As is commonly said around the net..."Awesome!"
That offer is gratefully accepted, as it allows me to concentrate on the main pack with my limited time.
If you'd like to design a section to fit in my OP, with a personalized banner that I can display with your name on it as the new Glimmar Mods Manager, that would be excellent. Just post it here as you would a normal post and I'll slot it in the OP. Use any of the graphics up there for the same style or something similar but distinctive if you want. Doing it that way would save me a whole lot of fuss having to figure what significance each set of mods had over each other, etc. ...and again my thanks, I'm sure your willingness to help in this way will excite all my regulars and quiet visitors alike.

Haha! It's a day for simultaneous posting methinks!
Best of luck and wishes in the job hunting, mate and once again my thanks for all your help in the past, but I'm expecting plenty of visits off you in the future too...I don't know where I'd be without your technical know-how and patience.
Megistus Eligius' 64x Mod Support for Minecraft 1.6.4

Hey, that's me! Got caught up in life, other games, etc. Also, after spending FOREVER on a set of animated vanilla ores for...well, no-one but myself, really, I got sort of burned out - and then they changed the texture pack format to resource packs, and the additional busywork required thereby dulled my enthusiasm. Now I'm finally coming back to Minecraft and finding I'll have to re-do a ton of stuff to fit the new format... but I absolutely will post anything I make or animate after I've got my basic Glimmar + Vanilla fusion re-arranged (sooooo many animation files to re-do in the mcmeta format...why did I fall in love with animated ctm, dammit? WHY??)(because a wall of ores, all sparkling at slightly different rates, makes my inner dwarf all tingly).
EDIT: Forgot why I came to post! SO MANY THANK YOUS to Glimmar for continuing to update his awe-inspiring amazing pack! And ALMOST EXACTLY AS MANY THANK YOUS to Megistus for his work on mod support! You guys are great!

Excellent! Just as soon as I can, I'll slot this in up in the OP. Well done to you Megistus.
Don't forget to think about your own special banner/signature too. Such a contribution deserves recognition, and it makes it more interesting for new visitors to browse the front page.
The same offer is extended to other major contributors too. See what asikar did for his 'Asikar's Airships' and think along those lines.
Ages ago I had the idea that alternate textures offered by users would look nice if presented in a kind of 'Glimmar's Victorian Shopping Emporium', not a lot came of that due to lack of time (even back then), but it probably failed because I was trying to do all the layout myself. With a few nicely crafted personalised banners and space for your wares, it would look awfully nice! ...And of course all rental free too!
Having a system like that would make it easier for me to keep updated with everyone's contributions and will give you a space to be proud of. It also gives me the time and space to concentrate on imagining and creating new things for the core pack without having to worry too much about managing layouts etc. in my OP.

Hiya, Artifex, it's nice to have you back and enthused (I'm loving all these grand names by the way...Megistus...Artifex! I feel honoured to be amongst such nobility! )
Glad you're liking the look of the pack so far...slow and steadily growing as it is.
No need to explain your absence, as I can't imagine anyone not understanding that life and other activities occupy our time, as addictive as Minecraft is. There must be something seriously wrong with me that I'm still floating around after more than 3 years! Also the shear number of changes that continue to take place in Minecraft does make it somewhat daunting to keep up with. I look forward to you getting stuck in!
As offered to Megistus, if you come up with some 'shop wares' make a banner and present your creations in a post here and I'll slot it in 'Glimmar's Mod Emporium' above.
Now I'll have to think of a nice antiquated 'Mod Emporium' banner to head that section, unless someone fancies designing something for me...but I'll have to be honest if I don't think it's up to scratch! In the meantime if I've time to scratch something together, and the inclination to do so, it will be a start. If you think you've got something nicer and it's original, (eg. don't go nicking anyone else's artwork on Google!) then let us see it.
I visualise contributors personalised banners being on display underneath the 'Mod Emporium' banner, with a 'spoiler' button that opens up each individual store. Each contributor is responsible for their own space, download link, and any necessary instructions for applying the textures. How does that sound?
I will not be responsible for the work users offer in the Emporium. Anyone found contravening my 'conditions' as laid out in my 'legal section' and current 'mod section', eg. use of other texture pack artwork, copyright infringement, etc. will have their shop closed temporarily or permanently depending on the severity of the situation.
As the modding and alt texturing is a collective effort, anyone wanting to make alts from other Glimmar alts should be sensitive to the work that others may have put in and where possible have a polite convo with the original artist. Conversely, just as I've made my work available for use within the confines of this thread, I would expect contributors would also be fairly open about their work being further 'refined' or perhaps re-used in other mods...again only within the confines of this thread. However, it wouldn't be fair to just re-use the entirety of someone else's Glimmar work unedited and then present it as their own. I expect everyone to behave like true ladies and gentlemen around here...I'm the only one whose allowed to 'flip' occasionally!
I hope there's some interest in this idea, but bear in mind one alt texture does not a 'shop' make. Old alt user textures and individual odd textures will remain in the collective 'User Contributed Textures' download, and individually identified where possible.
...and please keep in mind my 'Conditions of Use' with regard to my work and user made textures for Glimmar's Steampunk.
Oh boy, Glimmar. Didja read the snapshot news? Resource packs will soon be able to alter block models in-game.
I dunno if that's something you'd be interested in, but duuuuuuuuuude. I think it's gonna be the next big thing.
I haven't yet, but I'll nip over now and have a look.
[edit] Being the dunderhead that I am, I can't really see what bit of the Snapshot changelog that refers to altering block models in-game. Can you enlighten me further?
I'd love to be able to kind of slap whatever 'extra' block I wanted down in my world, not just the limited choice of blocks we have in the resource pack, but I don't think that's what you mean, and if that was possible, I can't imagine how that would work with MCPatcher's 'connected textures'. As you can see I'm probably completely off the mark with regard to what you're talkin' about.
Edit: Also, none of the paintings are in motion.
Any help from Glimmar or others would be appreciated!
BTW the stained glass is amazing!
Do you have mcpatcher or optifine installed?
Edit: Nevermind! Downloaded latest MCPatcher - everything works.

Curse PremiumAs is commonly said around the net..."Awesome!"

Curse Premium…..User Made Mod Support
Megistus Eligius' 64x Mod Support for Minecraft 1.6.4
Disclaimer: Not all of the listed Texture Packs for the below Mods are fully complete. As there are so many textures to work on, I do as much as I can with the time that I have. Also, I only work on textures for the Mods that I use.
THANKS!

Curse PremiumExcellent!
*************************************************************
Now I'll have to think of a nice antiquated 'Mod Emporium' banner to head that section, unless someone fancies designing something for me...but I'll have to be honest if I don't think it's up to scratch!
