This third and final taster vid for GS v14 primarily showcases my stained glass textures in my city of Newglim.
Not sure what Youtube did to the first version of this video, but it rather screwed things up!! However, as much as this second version is not perfect, at least it's not blurred and does show some of the detail and possible uses of my new 'stained glass'.
GS v.14 has been long in the making as there is an enormous amount of CTM work involved in producing a huge range of variations for all those new MC 1.7 plant and tree textures. 'Packed Ice' and 'Podzol' have also been lovingly worked on and I've taken the opportunity to update many old textures in the flora department. Work on the new stained glass was left until last, mainly as I have a real interest in the medium. I've designed my basic set of glass to be both decorative and useful . As is usual for me, it is important that the stained glass does a lot more than just sitting pretty in a frame. So as depicted by some crude examples in this video, I expect the glass to be used architecturally and structurally, as that was what they were designed for. I hope to produce many variations when I have the time and after I've had a Christmas and New Year break. I mostly work on these textures late at night and into the wee small hours after a hard day's work and a busy day with my family, so I'm really looking forward to a break.
Again my apologies for the judder. I use Fraps and somewhere along the line Premiere Pro and my choice of settings for rendering seems to make things worse. It's not helped by the fact that I'm not filming in 'lite' version of my pack, which has most animations and randommobs removed. If I wasn't still attempting to get this update out for Christmas 2013 I'd spend more time to find out what the problem is. Perhaps after Christmas I can look further into this and drop the resolution to 720p. I'm hoping you can at least get an impression of the scope of the work I've put into my latest MC GS resource pack update.
Thanks for watching.
A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

Beautiful Glimmar, as always. And the music selections are very tranquil.
Many thanks, mate.
Second version of the third taster video is now in the post above and while not perfect, it's way better for detail than my first attempt.
Now all I've got to do is final checks of the update, editing of my OP and hopefully if I can get a spare hour to myself tomorrow I may be able to upload GS v14, that is if Curse/Forge hasn't shut down for Christmas!
It's now 3.30 am here in the UK, so I'm not doin' anything more tonight. zzzzzz
This third vid shows off all the new stained glass in and around Newglim, so I'm still very much working there. ksheep was closest to the mark though on why the first two vids were set outside Newglim. Sometime in the future I might attempt to edit some of those little extracurricular projects back into the outskirts of Newglim. I've yet to journey far enough from Newglim to reach any of the new biomes, if indeed that's even possible. Is it not necessary to start a new world? I haven't really though about it actually.
You should be able to get new biomes in an old world, but you have to travel to an area which had not already been explored. The easiest way that I've found is to use Command Blocks and the teleport command. Find out the coordinates of your base and write it down (just to be on the safe side) and set up a Command Block to teleport you a certain distance in either the X or Z directions. Once you arrive, look around, see if it's new terrain, and you can create a Command Block there to teleport back to base (using your base coordinates). Using trial an error, you should be able to find uncharted lands (I explored by adjusting the distance 1000 meters each time until I found something new). For instance, you can tell the command block the following:
/tp @p ~1000 ~0 ~0
to teleport yourself 1000 meters in the X direction. After setting it up, you'll need to apply a redstone signal (pressure plate works best) and every time you activate it, you'll teleport.

Thanks, mate. I'll try to give that a go over the festive season, if my wife allows me back on the PC! I remember you having the great idea of using the technique for mimicking airship travel by having the same airship at each location.
Oh Glimmar... You're so incredible !
Every update you create is a stroke of genius. Your universe, your vibes and your talent are so great and powerful.
Thanks for this amazing long-term work and your devotion.
Have a nice festive season with your family.
Cheers !
Many thanks, Cynips. Much appreciate the kind words.
Still editing the OP ready for upload and part of that was sorting pics and the like out. So thought I'd upload some better pics of the stained glass, for those who got motion sick watching the last taster video.

All the info is in the OP on page 1, including the complete Changelog.
It has been a labor of love and frustration...so please go gentle on it. I would also ask while my attention is focused elsewhere for a short time that you keep an eye on my work for me. 'There be monsters out there!'
Now I'm going to join my family at last for Christmas and perhaps catch some last minute things on Steam... I'm just about burned out.
My hearty thanks to all you regulars for keeping me company again this past year and thank you to all visitors and casual passersby who have taken the time to leave a few kind words of encouragement or friendly suggestions. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Asking again: How does one find previous versions? I would like to make my 1.4.7 Mindcrack world look pretty and awesome.
Thanks.
If you visit my Curse/Forge page, by following the download link in the post above, there's a download section which should include previous versions of the pack (should go back before 1.4.7).
If you can't find it, or only I can view it for some reason, get back to me and I'll try and find an old MediaFire link for you.

Ooo! I missed your post in the confusion of trying to coordinate editing my OP here and over at Curse/Forge.
I hope you see the upload, Hamode.
Best of luck with the exams and hope your break from work/revision with 'Glimmar's Steampunk' is a pleasant one.
Also, many thanks for your nice comments and encouraging words. Hope the update doesn't disappoint!

It was easier for me to load up my MediaFire page and get the appropriate downloads for my MC 1.4.7 pack. It was GS version 10 for that version of Minecraft, and that was back when I was still able to maintain a separate 32x pack, so here are links for both the 32x and 64/32x Hybrid packs:
Good, good. No probs! You might want to dip into my latest update and drop any new textures there are (and there's lots of course) into your 1.4.7 personalized version. Things like cobble and spruce and the like would all look so much better.
Of course, if I was more organised with plenty of free time it would be well worth making 'back-dated' versions of my latest update for all those still wishing to use favorite mods. I'll get round to it one day.

Anyways...
.....GS v14 New Fish Textures!
...forgot to show you the new fish textures before releasing the update...whoops!
...so back to shopping, wrapping, cooking...oh it never ends!
Hope you're enjoying the GS v14 update, or perhaps you're being sensible and spending time with your family. Happy Christmas...again!

I just textured my fish too!
What a strange coincidence Though I have to say, I struggled to get mine to even look like fish at the low resolution.
But your are simply awesome again! I find it a bit weird that while fishing for atlantic salmon and cod you can also catch tropical clownfish - but that's Minecraft for you!
Fantastic again, and as a said before, your stained glass still floors me and looks like it't be more at home in a master's oil painting than a pixel-ly computer game
Haha! (or should it be Hoho!?) Thanks for the mention in the changelog! This thread has been the friendliest slice of the internet I've come across. It's hard to find a place where people are passionate enough to come together, and yet be pleasant enough for me to stick around. Most of the time either people are passionate and intolerant, or pleasant but don't get involved. That has a lot to do with how you do things Glimmar. You are obviously passionate, given the time and effort put into this beautiful pet project of yours. But you are welcoming and attentive to everyone that comes here. If generally disagreeable people come here they don't stay long, because their discontent isn't fed here. Thanks for the artwork, but thanks also for the friendly community you've built here.
glim, I've nodiced something do you have a colormap one for the morning and another for the night?? if yes then how?? if no then well properly it's my computer
