Man, Glimmar, I'm so looking forward to your next update so I can see all of these in-game!
Mythos being brought back to life? Sounds ominous... looking forward to that! Mythos was one of the first texture packs I played around with waay back in the day, in addition to Glimmar's here. (And Lost Valley, RIP.)
*cough*MadRealms is a nice collection of servers with a good admin and friendly players, at least it was back when I was playing SMP regularly. My mood's really more for singleplayer most of the time these days though.*cough*
Heh..thanks Freso..I'll give it a look. Thanks for the kind words also

Hello folks, remember when i said i would make a steampunk graitygun texture? well... it didnt go that well, but recently i made some stuff that you guys might like!
Thanks guys for the nice comments and encouraging words.
Here's another plant with quite a bit of random ctm work on it. Spent an age making random one-block paeonia plants, only to discover they don't seem to be in Minecraft anymore...only double plant paeonias...frustrating! So spent another age doing those, which needed doing anyway, and dropped the single plant paeonias in the ctm folder too just in case Mojang decide to put it back in again.
Thanks guys for the nice comments and encouraging words.
beautiful! I dont know what you do for a living, but if its not graphic art related, you are in the wrong field! You are so talented! I cant wait until your finished!!!

Comments like that make it worth the effort! Thank you.
It's in the traditional fine art field by the way...my occupation I mean...both history and practice. Digital art doesn't come naturally, but I'm learning...slowly!

You're pretty fast for a slow learner then lol. I wouldn't have guessed that digital art wasn't your specialty. The dedication you put into this pack is astounding. I really admire you for all your hard work so we as fans can have something beautiful to look at while we play the game.Thank You.

I was thinking the same thing. This might be something like a hobby for you, but you definitely excel at it. And we are definitely lucky that you enjoy doing it! Cuz like I said, these textures are beautiful.
Sorry, folks, I didn't get much time to work on anything the past couple of days due to pressing RL matters! Had a little time late last night to complete the flower_allium texture you see above.
I'm still not in a position to say even roughly when I'll be finished up on this update, sorry. I'm really only getting half an hour here and there to work on stuff and that means going without necessary sleep to make sure I at least get a few ctm textures for each plant done per day. I'm just blinkered onto the flora at the moment, as being so tired at the end of the day, I'm not able to think about the bigger picture.
My objective is still to get the new flowers finished before updating, along with a very basic set of stained glass textures. Once GS v14 is released, I can then concentrate on producing a much nicer more useful range of stained glass, so don't judge the temporary set of glass too harshly. My main focus over the past few weeks has been on bringiing most of the flora up to scratch...which means trees, foliage, mushrooms, old and new flowers, ferns, grass, etc.
Here's roughly what I've got done so far:
New 64x ctm'd random plants alone currently stand as follows
ferns...59
double ferns...7 tops and bottoms
rosebushes(poppies)...12
double rosebushes...4 tops and 5 bottoms
yellow rosebushes (dandelions)...12
sunflowers...12 flower heads front, one flower head rear, 2 top stems, 4 bottom stems.
syringa double bushes...5 bottoms and 4 tops
paeonia plants...9, but MC doesn't seem to be using these currently.
double paeonia bushes...5 bottoms and 6 tops
allium plants...5
desert plants...83
tall grass...26
double tall grass...3 tops and 3 bottoms
20 brown mushrooms
19 red mushrooms
6 acacia saplings
4 roofed oak saplings
other new 64x textures (if I've remembered them all!)
16 acacia leaf variations for transparent and opaque.
16 spruce leaf variations " " " "
8 big oak log tops
15 big oak log sides
22 big oak planks
6 birch log sides
64 dirt podzol tops
15 dirt podzol sides
64 ice_packed
20 jungle planks
12 oak planks - much more weathered.
9 grass side snowed
18 spruce log sides
It was my birthday a couple of days ago, and I'm beginning to feel my age (ancient by the way). Now I'm off to get the Christmas tree to put up and decorate with my youngest before trying to catch up with other things.
For those of you who celebrate Christmas, let me be the first to wish you a happy festive season, hoping you get and give some nice pressies.

Happy belated birthday Glimm! Life happens and even though you obviously enjoy making this pack you must make your personal life first priority. So what I am saying is don't push your self too hard and don't loose any sleep over it. This texture pack will always be here but life won't.

Very true words indeed, however I'm still striving to get this update out as quickly as is humanly possible...as much for my own peace of mind as for your entertainment. I'm also wanting to get to that staging post of completing up on the new flora (then nothing sticks out like a sore thumb) and so I can really enjoy myself with stained glass variations.
As the other have said, happy belated birthday. I hope you found it enjoyable and that Christmas isn't too stressful for you and your kin. Looking at that list of new textures, I'm amazed. Quite an accomplishment, and I can't wait to try them out in person. Hopefully these plants don't drive you crazy before too long.

Ah, many thanks, mate.
Yeh! All things flora-wise are getting a little bit of a grind now...but getting there! It definitely gets easier when working on the same things, rather than flitting backwards and forwards between subjects. They were a real pleasure to start with and a nice alternative from all the industrial stuff. However, it's very easy to get burned out with too much of a good thing. As already mentioned, trying to balance the colors of all the various plants, so they're not too neon or dull is the time consuming part, especially when reassembling all the random ctm after a little edit.
Having a goal of being able to have some fun with the glass at the end of the tunnel helps a little. Then I'll need a bit of a rest with the family over Christmas and perhaps enjoy some of the games I picked up in the Steam Autumn Sale. Hate to admit it, but some of those look mighty inviting at the moment!
It doesn't help that I'm streaming with a cold when my eye's start glazing over and I can't focus!
Hope you manage to have a good break too during the festive season.
I wish you a very happy belated birthday Glimmar. Also the new foliage textures look amazing as always. Just don't burn yourself out on texturing and RL stuff. I've found that a slow and steady pace is often better than rushing to get work done, much less stress and you wind up with a much better product. I know that most of us here are willing to wait a little longer for your fantastic resource pack.
On a side note, here is a ruined castle that I've been meaning to get a render of.
I've had this on my build map for a while, but i just never got around to rendering it.

Yep, Thanks again both of you for the grats and the kindly advice, I'm doing my best to pace myself so it's not becoming a chore, whilst at least making some progress each day.
Here's a couple more flower types:
.....GS v14 Ox Eye Daisy and Blue Orchid!
...and again, within reason, random ctm has been employed culminating in 5 blue orchids + 6 Ox Eye Daisies:
Sooooo Glimmar....... is there any chance youd release a partially finished version for those of us who are just totally jonesing for your new stuff? I come here every day and I just drool all over my keyboard LOL
I love this, though, on a four gig computer with optifine, it still uses up the memory I have for Minecraft really quickly... other than that complaint, good job glimmar, and have a merry christmas... and just a random idea, you should make a christmas version of this resource pack
