Had time for a little relaxing building before I am away.
To better facilitate my acquisition and destribution of Netherplate and Nether Crystal throughout my kingdom, I've constructed a 4-sided 'nexus' portal (four obsidian portals in a square) in the exact centre of my station. This should better allow me to ship out the vast quantities of materials I need to expand my transit system and thus my kingdom. I've already placed a series of gates in the netherworld so that my journey back ends at my Nexus gate.
My goods yard and skyship are positioned behind me in the same complex. The Nexus Gate provides a suitably ominous feel to the centre of the dome and a bone chilling thrumbing noise as the gates activate whenever I'm in the vicinity. Redstone pipes radiate out from the base and railway connections circle it and shoot off into the countryside on the four points of the compass. I'm looking forward to working on some steampunk technology for the paintings, then I can construct other machine-like monstrosities with ambiguous purposes.
The next stage involves me not only expanding my railway in my domain in the 'Upland', but also in the 'Nether', as materials close by to the Nexus Gate connection run dry. I fancy expanding my holdings down there, but not sure yet which way to take my style of building - industrial or alien, etc.
If I think of any new construction projects and have the time to construct them, I'll post 'em here for inspiration or general amusement! :smile.gif:
Would hate to sound pushy, seeing as my tools are going to be running late, but could you please put the harpoon cannon on the first post as well? It would make it easier to find in case someone wanted it.

It shall be done! It's just been a question of time, trying to get the update out and preparing to go away...it slipped my mind and it shouldn't have done. I need reminding from time to time, what with all of Notch's updates too! Phew!!
The diving helm HUD looks really neat but I don't think the smooth style fits in with the current textures, in my opinion you should reduce the size of it by half and try not to use to much transparency to make it fit in better with the 32x32 textures.
The default size of the pumpkinblur is 256x if I remember right, so it should be expected to be a much higher quality then the other textures. I think it looks great, and has a great effect on the atmosphere (even above water). To each their own, but I think it looks great as-is.
I'm really sorry guys, I've been busy with school work recently and didn't get a chance to work on the tools. I should be able to work on them again Wednesday.
Just briefly looking in guys. Then I have to be away again.
I thought it important to say that dougbenham has updated his 'Breathing Apparatus' mod http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=76015#BreathingApparatus to work with MC 1.2.6 so get it while you can and enjoy uninterrupted building and exploration down in the deeps wearing my new WIP diving helm:
available in Glimmar's Steampunk texture pack v1.5 (at the top of the thread).
I'll try and catch up on your other posts when I'm back folks. Sorry! :sad.gif:

When you were underwater you didn't run out of breath with the helmet on. Is that a mod?
It is, mate, yes! dougbenham's 'breathing apparatus' mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=76015#BreathingApparatus
which has been updated to work with Minecraft 1.2.6. (you only need to drop the 'he.class and 'lu.class' files into the minecraft.jar file, and away you go!). While you wear the helmet you can work indefinately underwater...so, great for deep sea base building and larking about in underwater caves. I haven't explored any underground lakes yet, but it would be useful for that too!
The underwater sounds are just something I added into the video from Telgar's underwater sounds file available here: Underwater_Sounds.ogg
It's not part of the mod or my pack, but is available to download and run as a loop in any music player, eg. WIndows Media Player. Very atmospheric! :smile.gif:
Hey Glimmar, this may be a bit off topic, but how did you decide on the architecture for your base(s). They look so nice. Mine all end up looking rather boring from the outside, any tips?

But i do have a small request, will you add support for TheFancyPack ?
Would be nice to see some real furnitures in minecraft no?
Tiger mate, can I have your edited textures and stuff? I really want to try it out, but I suck at editing the items.png myself.
Cheers, Reaper. (I'm Reaper on the Gunpla Forums, if you don't remember me).

I would also like to second this request, you know if its not to much trouble. Awesome pack btw
