Holy cow, the amount of new stuff is mind boggling!
Can definitely see all the hours of work you've put into this update, it's absolutely insane! You should really take a nice relaxing holiday once you have this released, you definitely deserve it.
Plus it would get your enthusiasm back, I know how hard it is when you get towards the final things left to do before an update and it all just seems to drag on. I'm taking a nice break now myself and I have to say, it's rather nice!
Can't wait for the new stuff though, it's looking fantastic. (and I miss having your steampunk pack in my list of available packs to use)
Ah! Thanks mate. I appreciate those words coming from you. Mostly everyone is very kind and supportive around here, but as a texture artist par excellence, you will very much understand what it's like when your motivation tank is running on empty.
Just don't rub the holiday bit in though...that's just cruel!
Love those new textures! Glad to see you still chugging along. I know my own motivation engine has been sleeping with the fishes lately. Works's been busy and my last two weekends have been utterly consumed with Ham Radio stuff. (Which is actually a pretty decent thing to have a weekend consumed by if you like electronic gizmos but it doesn't leave much time for other things.)
As much as I'd love having more steam punk sounds in the game, there really isn't much there yet to put sounds on other than the creatures. I'd suggest waiting till we get the ability to attach new sounds to blocks that don't currently have them or some sort of more robust sound generating block. Right now the only blocks I can think of that generate sound when you get near them are flowing water and lava. Using note blocks hidden around to provide the noises feels like a clumsy solution.

Tis far better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit.
This looks fantastic. Each time I check back it gets better and better. Quick question, though. Do you intend to change any of the item names, seeing as you can do that rather simply in 1.6?
I had the same question, but I think that it's a bit weird to have a Dispenser to be called an "Electromagnetic Tissue Disruptor" or something like that...

Unless if you're a target of mine, you will never see me. If you see me, then it's already too late.
I have a language pack that I picked up and now manage specifically for this pack available for download. It names things like the furnace as a Pneumatic Infuser, and glow stone as Luminiferous stone. Glimmar is playing around with the idea of making it the official language pack for Glimmar's Steampunk, no promises though...

Once again, many thanks for the enthusiasm and kind comments above. As soon as I have time I will go back through the posts, but for now (whilst tearing my hair out in frustration over hardened clays, etc.) here's another vid:
'Clocks, Horses, Clay, Etc.'
Taster Vid 2 for Glimmar's Steampunk texture pack update v12. Available Soon!
If there's anything you'd like to ask about the vid, ask away and I'll do my best to answer...when I'm online. When this update is out though I need a very long rest!
Thanks for watching.
Sorry for the poor quality of the video. In game Fraps recorded clips were actually quite smooth. However, when editing I didn't have time to render the video properly and still have time to finish off essential textures.

In the meantime, if the video is still uploading, here are some more pics to peruse. They're all hardened stained clay variations...and there's a few new noteblock blocks lurking around:
Glimm...no matter how long I disappear, you keep my beloved tex pack goin strong and beautiful. I don't understand most of the updates now....but it all looks AWESOME!!

"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to...."
Hello,
Very very nice, incredible work !
I don't understand why there is 3 types of new Clay, one like bricks, one like wool and one more like clay, is it because you don't have made a choice, or you are going to make three packs ?
Thanks
Sorry for my english, I'm french
I believe he's going to have them set up as three different variations. One will be "standard", but the others will be included and it'll be easy to just swap out the files so you can use whichever one you want.
This pack looks VERY awesome! But if I do wish to install it, I may have to change a few things...
Villagers look a little creepy... and I might look through and change it to my liking.

I believe the general policy is that you can do whatever you want for your own use, as long as you don't distribute it. You'll have to ask glimmar, though, if you want to make sure.
Sorry to be absent and not very communicative at the moment. Apart from feeling very burnt out and struggling with the last couple of textures (hay and coal, cos' I want to make them as useful as possible...not just a block of coal or a square bundle of hay) and it's hard!
I'd also like some opinions on the stained clay, given the pics I showed earlier, and following on from what douras and ksheep touched on above. If I was to choose one set of stained clay to be standard in the pack I'd probably go for the 4 and 6 course brick variations, but I'm still of a mind to make a mixture of marbelised, smooth, brick and the extra ctm blocks I offer like the marble frieze, rune stone, carved stone heads and random mosaic. It would be nice to bring those old extra blocks into the fold for those not wanting to semi-cheat in survival, but not if most users think it's a bad idea.
Which would you prefer? The variety pack with ctm would take just a little longer for me to figure, but would give more variety for construction, or just a mixture of brick, marble and smooth without the old ctm extras. As I get more jaded with the effort, my decision making powers wain and I'm almost at zero inspiration too.
I'm also ever mindful of keeping you guys waiting while I dither and prevaricate. I'm not too popular with my family either in the beautiful sunshine the UK is basking in at the moment, everyone is in a holiday mood (at least Andy Murray won Wimbledon...it only took us 70 odd years!).
Let me know or I might just have to flip a coin.
PS. I stepped on the corner of my laptop screen last week and so I couldn't continue editing while adventuring away, hence more delays. I have a new screen on order, but it'll probably only come after I've updated. Too many spanners in the works this time around...1.6 must be cursed or something...or just me!

also, like somebody else said, you could add in the nessary mods to run the pack, thus cutting out the need for mc patcher

EDIT:
Install it like a mod using mc-patcher.
I can't seem to install it with MCPatcher nor manually...
Also check me out on:
WordPress, Etsy, and Spore.
you have to take it out of the .zip folder and then install it.
Should come up like this if it was installed correctly.
Finally got it.
It's not fully finished yet, however i will continue to update it as minecraft does.
