This is a cool texture pack i made this airship with it.
That's a fantastic airship, mate, it really is.
From the cramped nature of all the various stations, through to the way you've outfitted the ship using all my animated and non-animated textures. Even the use of my randomob villagers and iron Golem look appropriate in the setting you've created. Really well done, and thanks for taking the time in making the video and sharing.
Glad you like the pack and welcome to the forums.
Somehow I've got to fit this in my OP somewhere with your permission, it's too good to get buried...bear with me though as I hate messing around up there.

Very nice ship. I like the way you use the animations to accent the design. A little too dark for my taste, but who's to judge, steampunk can be whatever you want however you want it. If you look at my ships you'll see what I mean by differing styles still being called steampunk.
How many hours did it take you to make the Erebus? If you don't mind my asking.
is it ok if i make a mod pack of all the extra textures?
Sorry, cowmaster14, I have to say no, I'm in the process of doing that myself now for the 1.6 update.
From what you say, I'm not entirely sure what your intentions were though. To make a mod pack of my GS alt textures and user's contributions made up from editing my textures? For...personal use? To send to me via PM? Re-posting here or to distribute elsewhere?
Personal use is fine and what you do on your computer with my textures is up to you of course. PM'ng me a nice ordered collection of alt/extra textures would be very welcome, but is not really necessary as I keep a rolling folder of alts from my own work and user contributions. Compiling all the extra textures and posting them publicly here or elsewhere is strictly forbidden....especially posting them elsewhere.
Were you referring to all the supporting 'mod' textures, for things like Tekkit, etc? If you were, then ksheep is responsible for that and that is only available in my 'Mod Support' section. If ksheep isn't able to do this anymore due to work commitments, then I would need to speak to him first if that was the area you were interested in helping in.
Let me know a few more details. Just saying "is it ok if I make a mod pack of all the extra textures", is a bit too open-ended and saying yes to that would be like signing away 3 year's work for whatever purpose you had in mind, which I'm not about to do.
Hello !
I heard that in the new ressource pack you can, in addition of textures, put some sound. (It has to be verified).
Are you going to do this ? It would be awesome !
Thank you for this wonderful pack !
Welcome to the forums, douras. Many thanks for the kind words and glad you like the pack.
I've seen that it's possible to add sound to the resource pack, but I haven't heard that this is official in the forum news from Mojang.
I'm not even sure exactly what form this would take. Some sounds I think are ok already, but it would be nice to change others and if possible add sound to some things that don't currently have sound. It would be really nice to give sounds to some of the gui, but I imagine this might need a better grasp of coding than I have.
I'm certainly not without the recording equipment or the means to edit sound clips, but I am short on time and the texture side of things is still my priority, so I haven't had the opportunity to build up a really useful collection of my own sounds.
It's a case of wait and see for all of us I guess, then just change a few things at a time.
Just a heads up, it seems like Mojang is planning on pushing 1.6 sometime in the next week or so. I hope you don't have too much trouble getting the pack prepped for the new Resource Pack model, and hopefully MCPatcher will be ready by then as well (I haven't checked as of late so I'm not sure if Kahr has fixed it since the last snapshot).

Haha, always gets me in a little panic.
Talking about getting the pack ready. I've still got the blocks to do...was saving those 'till last, but I wasted a couple of days trying to figure why my pack wouldn't work with the latest snapshot after being converted to a resource pack. Every other pack worked fine when converted! I was beginning to feel that Mojang had purposefully blocked Glimmar's Steampunk from becoming a resource pack!
It turned out to be just one animated item .mcmeta file that wouldn't work. Took me an age to track it down, because it was the last thing I suspected. There is also a problem with the 'shadow.png' not working correctly for all packs with their own version of the texture. This and other textures in the old 'misc' folder now seem to need an .mcmeta file or the shadow gets garbled in game!
I don't know how many other things haven't been properly covered by the Mojang converter, but it's a headache I can do without as it stops me from working on new stuff. I know kahr has decided to make his own converter again this time, thankfully, so I hope this picks up on all those little niggles...and I have every faith it will.
After 1.6 lands, I'll have to run through everything in the resource pack to make sure it matches what was intended to be there by Mojang. That's even before worrying about the ctm, anim, and sky stuff! I kind of miss those simple texture pack days of 2010.
I'm just now working through all the little things in MC 1.5.2 that I've never bothered to include in my pack before, eg. glint.png, footprint.png, etc. just in case the converter needs them to be able to add .mcmeta files. It's a real pain, as this level of detailed checking wasn't needed before.
As mentioned, the blocks are still to do, and they may turn out fairly standard with all this extra hassle. Oh, and I've dropped the alts/extras folder from the pack to make a separate download. Even without this the pack is still over 50 Megs and would have been nearer 100 megs if I'd included it! It's an unknown quantity exactly how big my final 'resource' pack will be when it's released. In future, if sounds are added, it might be quite a bit bigger.
With all the above, it won't be an instant release after the 1.6 update. I expect there will be a number of quick updates from Mojang and I'm guessing there will be a storm of comments on all threads about all the changes. I'd like to be reasonably sure that my pack works as well as can be expected, then I'm not burdened with having to issue further fixes. This will all be further complicated with the end of the college and university timetables here in the UK. Sons 1 and 2, will require a lot of ferrying to and fro along with their mule trains of possessions.
Hya mule! Hya! I hated the end of Spring semester back when I lived in apartments near campus. Not only do you have to take finals/ write final papers, but then you have to do cleaningg checks and figure out what the heck to do with your stuff for 3-4 days between apartments. You have to move out of apartment A but can't move into apartment B until they do their deep cleaning of all the stuff the last tenants neglected to do. Yech! At least your boys have you, I assume, relatively close by.

Howdy, juliusand1.
Nope...one's close by, the other is nearly 300 miles away! Nice to have all the prodigals back...at least for the first few days! Might even persuade them to have a Minecraft session, though I'm being worked on to have a go at 'Don't Starve' for Father's Day here. The survival aspect appeals, as does the wacky steampunk style.
Hi again I was wondering, which block do those mosaic tiles go to? Id like to try them out in my pack, but Im not sure which block they will change.
Thanks

The mosaic blocks are a "special ctm" block. meaning you have to enter a special code into the command bar while playing MC and you get a block that i think is textured as the oak planks, but when you place it, it gives the mosaic block. It's all explained better in the OP under Extra random 'CTM' blocks - How to get them.

Oh, I see. I was wondering if it would be possible to just make my sandstone blocks like that on top.
Another thing I was wondering, with the chiseled quartz block, Is there a way to make the ctm go up and down, with connected blocks, as well as side to side?

You would have to edit the ctm file in the pack itself.
Im taking blocks from this pack and using them in a custom pack that I made. I just cant figure out what to do to make the ctm work in my pack.
Not sure if it was covered or not, but that has to be private. You're not able to hand out packs stealing others work, but besides that good luck with it. ^-^

Oh, I know. Ive talked to Glimmar about it before and he/she helped me get some of the other blocks working in my pack. I have a custom pack that is only for my own private use that I have cannibalized from all my favorite texture packs. Glimmar has so many awesome blocks that I cant fit them all in my pack!
At the moment Im thinking about attaching some of her textures to the sponge block, since the sponge block doesnt have any use anyway. I just dont know how to attach them. I was hoping Glimmar would be willing to give me some more instruction.
