I just hope that 1.5.1 combined with the 64x textures won't destroy the computer, the new Minecraft updates have been wrecking havoc with some people's fps. And as usual, well done on this update, although extra congratulations and thanks is needed for your hard work, updating this pack to the new 1.5 format knowing how much of a endeavour it was expressed by you previously.
O_O! Well spotted. That's a problem I didn't foresee. I'm guessing there's an extra separate texture for potatoes now! Also either Mojang or the MC Patcher 'conversion tool' has switched the potato and baked-potato icons around, I certainly didn't do it.
Having concentrated my energies for so long on the new 'building' blocks I didn't think to check other areas like farming, etc. I don't often grow stuff in creative!
Give me a little while longer and I'll fix it and upload a newly updated pack. Very sorry for the hassle folks. If you see any other obvious kinks, let me know over the next couple of hours, or I'll end up having to update again later.
Is the current downloadable version "potato compatible?"
Also I am so impressed with this pack, the quartz and nether quartz ore blocks are so useful!! I'm working on updating my huge steam powered war contraptions to look better with the new awesome stuff!
Edit: I found this bug, it is an upwards facing dispenser and dropper. It would seem in all your hurry you forgot that there was a texture for the upwards ones now!

Not yet! I've just been re-texturing the potato plants and I can say it's almost fully potato proof! Just don't eat the leaves or any green potatoes.
Yep, the upward facing capability is something else that slipped past me. However that does explain what I thought was some sort of bug when I was placing the flipp'n things! I shall have to investigate further.
Glad you caught me in time. Re-uploading texture packs can be a real pain, especially when they now need to be approved by Curse, and if at all possible I don't like to subject people to updates for little edits. I have to finish some other work this afternoon, so I won't be uploading until this evening (UK time), so let me know if there are any other obvious silly gaffs on my part. Remember the clock is supposed to be vanilla though, while I work on something a little special (if my failing faculties allow!).
Right...figured the vertical placement of the dispensers and droppers, but it looks to be a little more involved than just using the front facing animated textures. However, so they don't look odd with textures obviously designed to appear to sit solidly on the floor, I need to make completely new animated textures which look more symmetrical in the vertical position. Hopefully by tonight, but no guarantee.

Also welcome to the forum.
Been combing through it for the past hour or three and couldn't find anything, didn't notice the clock until after you pointed it out though XD. Also, thank you
I tried it out, and i gotta say, i REALLY like the green quartz blocks. Those are actually the ones i was talking about a few days ago that i said reminded me of doctor who, not the ore blocks (but those are excellent for creative mode building as well)
I also like your new glass, It's a huge improvement from the single pixel lines going through it like you had before. Have you considered adding betterglass support?
Love the new update. Quick question, I like the new textures for the standard quartz and chiseled quartz blocks, but I can't figure out what they are modeled after. I was wondering if you would be willing to share what your inspiration for those textures was? They look really cool, I'm currently trying to think of what to use them for.
Yay! I finally get to use this pack in 1.5.1 now without any big glitches!
When will you be releasing an update to fix the potato and vertical dispenser/dropper glitches/lack of textures?

Oh great great great! Finally out, i was waiting for it!
Edit: so i tried it and i have some questions:
-Is it still WiP? Some items and blocs still looks 32x, but my eyes could fail me.
-I'm not into textures pack making, but do you plan to make quartz blocs merge together?
As you can see on that wall, it forms lines, but not a complete wall. It could be like a white wall with red borders and the drawings in the corners.
Same with the other quartz blocks.
I don't know if it's planned, i just wanted to say it
And last edit: i don't know if everyone as the same problem, but each time i put a painting on the wall, it disappear.
But i'm really happy with that pack, it's exactly as i wanted it. Great work again! And sorry for my awful english!
Your English is superb!
Yes, it is still a work in progress (to be honest it probably always will be! ). I just felt it wasn't absolutely necessary to keep including the WIP bit on the end of the pack, as even without every texture being fully 64x it's still very much a complete pack and eminently practical for building with...my latest vids kind of prove that. Of course minus the stupid mistake over the potato growth stages and the vertical textures for the dropper and dispenser, and of course the 'ender' dragon!
No, the quartz blocks are designed to be horizontal runs, so the horizontal equivalent of vertical pillars really. I could make them merge, and might still have a go doing so as an alt, but I'm happy with them as a decorative top or bottom 'strip' in the way they've been used in the latest GS v.11 taster videos. If you want a plain wall with a decorative edge then for now you'd need to combine it with the 'marble-like' half slab.
I see my green cast iron quartz blocks and the chiseled red block as decorative industrial cast iron, so to be used in that way, as per the examples in the taster vids.
I think there's certainly scope for making the green cast iron quarts block merge in the original classic 'ctm' way. It was something I just didn't have time to experiment with, and something I've yet to attempt.
The painting glitch was an MC 1.5 known problem and the main reason MC 1.5.1 was quickly released. Placement seems to work ok for me with 1.5.1 and the latest MC Patcher. I wasn't able to place any paintings in 1.5 hence one of the delays in putting up my animated 'chain' paintings.

No, I assumed it was the green cast iron blocks we were both talking about...with regard to the Victorian pumping station decor that is. Glad you like em', 13thMurder.
[edit]
I'm not a big fan of the betterglass effect at the moment, I'd rather have the advantages of my glass as it is now. It can still be used as glass, but unlike betterglass, I can use it in all sorts of other imaginative structural ways and the edge of it is designed to almost seamlessly mesh with my redstone dust pipes for even more variety. If I could do both, then I'd delve into betterglass tomorrow.
I don't know about you, but sometimes I find I'm swamped with too many options and just need to focus in on a few areas to preserve what last few grey cells I have.

I was wondering if you would be willing to share what your inspiration for those textures was? They look really cool, I'm currently trying to think of what to use them for.
Well, they were kind of based on Victorian pumping station decor:
ksheep posted an excellent video of probably the best example of a restored Victorian pumping station a while back. I think this was it:
...and old British Rail green paneling, as you might get on trains here in the UK from early times until the mid-20th century. The basis for the the green cast iron look came from my original 32x texture for the minecart, which was originally based on old British Rail livery, of which I made a few alt 32x textures...some of you might be familiar with them.
Yay! I finally get to use this pack in 1.5.1 now without any big glitches!
When will you be releasing an update to fix the potato and vertical dispenser/dropper glitches/lack of textures?
As soon as possible.
I've completed a quick edit of the potato growth stages. I've finished up a 64x unique symmetrical design for the top faces of the vertically placed dropper and dispenser, but in doing so felt it was necessary to make the furnace top 64x and this resulted in me having to redesign the grey cast iron decorative strip at the top edge of the furnace front and sides.
I'm hoping to add necessary animation to the vertical dispenser/dropper textures this afternoon/evening, so if I don't upload this evening, it should definitely be up this weekend. Sorry with it being Easter weekend here I keep thinking today is Friday!
I might have time to throw in some more random plant variations based on the carrot and potato growth stages. It seems a shame not to use them elsewhere, to enrich the countryside, considering how much effort goes into making each plant look ok.
I'm just sorry I didn't notice these things to start with. Blame it on the fact that there is no longer a terrain and item sheet at update time that can easily be scanned for changes.
Thanks, everyone for your kind comments and support.

Vertical placement? I saw those two new textures labeled 'vertical dispenser/dropper', but I haven't been able to figure out what they're for.
Oh, and I shall download and check out the update forthwith.

This is the problem we face with single textures rather than terrain sheets. Not complaining, just that it's harder now to keep track of little changes when skimming over the MC wiki pages, especially when engrossed in lots of changes and new things. As I said above, I just thought what I occasionally saw as a vertically placed dispenser was a buggy bit of shenanigans between MC Patcher and Minecraft 1.5. At least you saw those textures in the blocks folder...me? ...nothing!
Also for some strange reason, potato and baked_potato items got switched around. Watch out for the potato growth stages too!
Hope you like some of the new things. There's plenty needs upgrading and improving...always! However, the sane part of my brain is saying, "go a little easy for a bit or you'll blow a gasket!"
Is there any way to see a picture of each block side by side with its name? For example it could show the isometric view of your Redstone Block and next to it it would say redstone block, repeating for all blocks? I would just place every block in my world so that I know which is which but I've been away from my computer for a week or so and will be for some time. Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten to test out your 1.5 version yet!

What are those spinning wheels in the video?
I believe those wheels are paintings. Just plop them down until you find it.
Wait... what happened to the download link? Its gone.

Thanks again, 7gigawatts.
It's still there in the OP in the 'Download' section.
You should find and click on the little Curse Download Widget. It looks like a signature banner with clickable download buttons.

It'd be heaven if singleplay, multiplay and modding all stayed completely in sync at update time.

Retired StaffThat thing is a little buggy.
Some people might not have it appear for... some reason or other.
What i do is include a text link as well right below the widget, linking to the curse download directly.

Ah! That's a really good idea, mate. I shall do that later. Thanks.
Yes I should put a proper link to my Curse page underneath the download Widget.
