I'll see what I can do, and I'll think over how best to set it up. However, as I am traveling this weekend, I probably won't be able to set it up for a few days yet. Probably for the best, however, as it'll give you time to finish up 1.5 without having to worry about it. The next big hurdle would be informing all the volunteers of the new system, but that shouldn't be too difficult. I'll just have to think about the best way to have them format submissions.
First off I wanted to start by saying thank you for the contributions you have made to the texture pack community and to your fans. Your dedication for providing a quality product is outstanding and I am very thankful for that. I'm glad that you are feeling better and hope you will remain that way in the time to come.
Secondly, I wanted to say that I cannot wait for your texture pack to be updated to 1.5. I've tried to use other texture packs and simply cannot either because they aren't completely finished or just because I don't like the way they feel / look. I've resulted to using the default textures, which for some might be great; but it's not my cup of tea unfortuantely. I will be patiently waiting for your update to be released as I check this thread pretty much everyday to see if any new developments have come up.
Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication. Your Steampunk pack is simply the best out there.

Good man! You'll come up with something excellent I'm sure, but you know there's no rush. I'm currently full on with a cold now and, with my eye's constantly streaming, I'm finding it difficult to focus on the finer details! Next version of my update will probably look like a Picasso!

Ah! Those are very kind words, Dimnerial. Thank you for the encouragement.
Love this texture pack and have been using it for my rapture build for a while ().
i was wondering when we can expect a version for 1.5.1?
I've just been watching your vid...fantastic work! Even on creative I can't imagine how one would tackle something that deep under water on such a vast scale. Well done!
Update should be soon, meaning in the next few days after I've finished my vid (which is what I'm currently working on). I'm waiting on TMI to be upgraded to 1.5.1 as it's become an essential part of testing new things out before release. As 1.5 broke paintings and I can't slap up some of the animated one's I'd been working on for a movie, I've just been finalizing and trying to improve on some 'moire' effects that were spoiling some of the new chiseled quartz block build samples I had.
Sorry I can't be more specific, but it'll be as quick as I can make it. It's only the 64x version I'm afraid, but there's a lot of new textures, animations and ctm that would have been difficult to realize at 32x. Most of the new stuff should be of great interest to you and your Rapture build...pipes, retro-electrical equipment and decorative blocks.
Hope you feel a bit better Glim. I'm gonna wait for your update before trying to see how 64x will work on this PC. I'm in the same boat, waiting on TMI and Optifine to be updated.
This Texturepack reminds me the feelings of 'Arcanum'.especially when watching the showcase videos.
God,I wish i could get that Newgilm save file.
Hope it's a good feeling of Arcanum!
Ah! Sorry about the map. It's still my private playground I'm afraid. You're not missing much at the moment, as it's a bit like a movie western town...in that if you go round the side or back you realize it's all just propped up with 2x4 timber.

Hah! I'm a bit drugged up on paracetamol so not too bad!
Funny how we get to rely on certain things to make the MC experience just right. Mojang have it easy really. They never really need to come up with any original or popular ideas...everyone has already thought, made and popularized all the best one's!
Think I might get around to updating to 1.5 when you update, for this and 13thmurder's pack. Been meaning to play for a while, but other games have been getting in the way.

Haha! Hope you do.
A new video of my 1.5.1 update should be finished uploading in approximately 2 hours, in which you will see some nice cast iron pipe/columns...in the round! If you look back a few pages you can already see some pics.
If you remember a while back, you set me a challenge to make some block sized pipes. I thought that was a worthy challenge for this theme and you'll be able to see what my answer to that particular conundrum was more clearly in the vid.
For all those who have subscribed to my Youtube channel, you'll get a sneak preview before I upload the link and further info here a little while after.

Showcasing 'Glimmar's Steampunk' v11 texture pack for Minecraft v1.5.1, available soon.
This has been filmed using my 64x WIP pack, but there are still a lot of 32x textures in there. The process of updating to 64x is slow because of the additional work of adding ctm, animations and of course new things from Mojang and MC Patcher. Also the big change to 1.5 has been quite a challenge during a pretty trying time in my RL.
Hopefully there will be a 32x GS v.11 update for 1.5.x at some stage, but it won't be soon. and it is unlikely to contain all the animations or the extra ctm textures that I've been working on at 64x, unless my spare free time improves. I'm not abandoning my 32x version, far from it, but I'm more commited to my 64x version now, as textures, animations and ctm at that scale, given the theme of retro-machinary, are just easier to realize with 4x the number of pixels.
This video is best viewed at 1080p. Sorry about the occasional stutter...Fraps and Minecraft, as per usual, don't always play well together at this resolution on my system. It is certainly not an indication of lag in normal gameplay on my now fairly modest PC rig. Although I am probably stretching the limits with additional animations and ctm for more modest sytems, I may be able to improve speed for some, by providing alternative 'un-animated' block and item textures to replace all the new animation strips I've included. Things'll just be a little less animated, but at least you'll still have a playable GS texture pack with all the new MC 1.5 stuff! I just haven't had time to do that at the moment...sorry!
If there's anything you can't recognize in the vid, just ask and I'll do my best to answer. The next vid may help clarify things a little more.
Music and Sound Sample Credits:
I am very grateful for the following music and sound samples being made open-source. I give due credit to the kind and talented individuals for their time and generosity:
EDIT: Love all of it, cant wait for the release! Ive found out only recently you can make to point of a hopper load sideways, Meaning i can make a floor of endless size all load to one area. Also alows for pipes that flow sideways, although a cover may be needed. Maybe some of those new iron blocks ^-^
Oh...wow...wow...The ingenuity continues to astound. Do those lights on the compator indicate redstone signal strength? Animated opening on the hopper, I love that little touch. The red and green block, that's the chiseled quartz, right? I love the grating on the quartz stairs. The level of sophistication is amazing. Well worth the wait.

Yeh! The hopper surprised me when it stuck sideways to a block. I thought I's done something wrong at first!

Ah! Thanks, juliusand1. Glad you like.
The comparator lights are a kind of animated indication, but not directly related to the actual strength of signal...just cosmetic. Hopefully nice enough for everyone to want to use them for both practical and decorative use.
You're right about the chiseled quartz block. Getting all the ctm on the quartz blocks to work as I wanted was a bit of a struggle for a numskull like me, but I got there in the end. My imperative is always to try and make each block as useful and modular as possible...with a strong emphasis on modular. No point in having absolutely wonderful solitary textures, if you just can't build with them in lots of imaginative ways...and with a minimum of eye-ache.
I just noticed I've had over 2 million visitors! When did I pass that momentous threshold? Someone's probably got me mixed up with plumbing supplies and Googled me a few times by mistake.
Right then...I'm off to bed now to celebrate...splitting headache and fever again! Next vid will have to wait until tomorrow now. Humble apologies.

There's more? You are are really out doing yourself! I am impressed with the comparator as is, but it would have really been quite the feat if you had gotten it to indicate signal strength. in the video, there was a scene with the cart with a chest in it. Was there a second cart overlapping it halfway? Anyways, the pack just gets better and better.

Well, you probably caught sight of the hopper cart with animated interior, but yes most of the carts tend to overlap, sometimes quite a few lump together causing confusion. I'm not sure if this phenomenon has got worse with 1.5 or not.
I guess making the comparator actually show signal strength ingame would involve Mojang or a modder creating a system similar to that controlling the 1.5 clock and compass. Only being a humble artist would make the task way beyond my capabilities. Also, If you had a lot of these on screen at once, all having to show different signal strengths, I imagine it would cause quite some lag.

Well, I'm glad someone put the extra transparency of my water to good use. It was ever intended to be used for just such a build as you undertook. Going way back to 2010 when I was first introducing all those typical steampunk features like cogs, redstone pipes, diving helm and pea-soup green water, it was always with the worlds of Bioshock, Fallout3 and Victorian science fiction in mind. You'll have to post some regular pics showing it's progress. Assuming I'm not delaying you further with my habit of slow updates!
