If you'd like to give it a go, here's the 64x terrain.png. Drag to your desktop and rename to 'terrain' if it's anything different (I use Photobucket now and I'm not sure how it presents things) and drop it into the root of the zip:
Let me know what you think.
I'm off to see how I can make it more steampunk with a diving hatch and pipe fittings, so it can be used as if fitting to redstone 'pipes', other blocks in the pack and of course my unique pumpkinblur HUD.
Haven't even looked at the CTM side of things yet. Thought it better to finish a natural pumpkin first.
This is by far my favorite texture pack. Your world also looks very interesting, is there a download link for it. I've tried to make your world but the only thing i could get were the giant steam towers. I'm a huge fan. Thanks.

That's very kind of you. Glad you like the pack and many thanks for saying.
As regards my world map of NewGlim, it's very much a private place where I build to relax, but still have dreams of making a few videos to show it off. I often get asked for the map, but it's the only world I've ever worked on in going on 3 years I've been playing Minecraft, so it's become pretty special to me now.
Don't let the pics of it fool you into thinking it's all that epic, though. It's where I test out all my texture work and so it's full of half finished projects and weird constructions that have meaning for me, but would probably leave a visitor scratching their head...like most of my textures!
When I've satisfied myself I've done all I want to with NewGlim, I will release the map, but sadly it will probably be the day I lose interest in Minecraft. [Hooray!! I hear everyone cry!]
Still not ready yet for use, but it gives you a chance to see where I'm going with it. And here's the edited pumpkinblur.png view that you get to see the world through when you put a 'natural pumpkin diving helm' on your head:
I've yet to attach the outside gauge, pipes and fittings to the unlit version, and a different arrangement of paraphernalia on the lit pumpkin. This work may well become the standard pumpkin in the pack with the more natural pumpkin with the face above as an alternative drop in.
I've got to say, like the new pumpkins. One thought with CTM: I know that if you have a certain texture on the terrain sheet and a different on the CTM, the CTM texture will be used when it's placed, but it will use the terrain sheet version while in your inventory. What version would it use if the pumpkin was on your head?
The reason I'm asking: You might be able to have a "natural" pumpkin as a CTM texture, and when you pick it up and place it in your inventory, it adds all the pipefittings etc. and becomes the diving helmet. Not sure if this would work, but it's a possibility, and it would give you both the natural and helmet at the same time.

That's a really cool idea, sheep! Though I quail at all the different possibilities now with CTM, as I'm not the best at figuring stuff out after a hard day. I shall give that idea a try and hopefully I'll still be able to keep the brass lantern fitting as well, as I still want to develop a new 'useful' looking light. Aaargh! SO many possibilties...better that than a game of limited possibilities, eh?
Alternative Natural Pumpkin & Diving Helm Combined
Thanks to ksheep's ingenious idea, it looks like it is possible to have something of the best of both worlds! I'd still prefer to have directional looking lanterns as blocks able to be placed in the landscape, rather than traditional Halloween pumpkins, but for the majority, this solution certainly enables me to retain my diving helm pumpkinblur HUD. Here...see the proof:
Cool! Though, I'll probably be sticking to the current pumpkin texture since they make wonderful lanterns. Actually, I might use this if I ever get back to my survival world. Been a while since I've played that.

Don't worry, I'm still intending making a new version based on the old lantern and at the higher res 64x, as like you I prefer something more utilitarian...it just makes sense with a retro future pack and it's possible to do so much more with them creatively. However, I understand there are many who find it difficult to see the pumpkin as anything other than something natural and grown, and it's for those that these have been made. I just have to decide which type is going to be standard and which will be the drop-in ctm alt.
Before I turned to the dark side of creative, I grew the pumpkins as if they were being assembled in a factory, so it's not difficult to incorporate the 'lantern/diving helm' pumpkin into survival play.
When found in the landscape, I pretended they were vents or artifacts, or any number of other things to explain their presence. I like things to be as believable as possible, or play isn't enjoyable, but there are imaginative ways of doing that in survival without having to over-reach the bounds of reason, especially within the theme of Steampunk.
The reason I think my original pumpkin design was good, especially for creative building, is that it was symmetrical, you could connect redstone pipes to it in many ways, it was structurally square yet hinted at a bulbous design inside. It had marine (over and underwater) and old railway styling built in and it was ambiguous enough to be used in many different ways. However, I think it could have been made better, and at 64x it's begging for a complete overhaul. I will also be doing my best to hold to all of the points above.
Sorry for not being on for a while. I have been busy. anyway i was thinking if you were going to change the pumken you could use the old skin for on of the helmets. Just a thought.

Welcome back to the forum then, alcamist1234.
As mentioned in the post above yours, my intention is to make an updated version of my old 32x pumpkin texture...similar but improved. The problem comes in trying to keep everyone happy, but there's only so far I can go either way, but at least CTM allows me to provide traditionalists with the facility to access a natural pumpkin, whilst retaining a more practical version for those used to my original design.
Thanks for the reassurances that at least some folk still like my original idea for a pumpkin, as it means any efforts I make to improve on it hopefully won't be wasted.
Hmmm, an update on the graphics glitch. But no new understanding of why.
Java installed an update, and the error came back.
I Restored to the previous version of Java, and the problem went away.
Still only your pack.
I... don't have any idea as to why.
The Auld Grump, pretty sure that the previous time was also after that Java update - I reinstalled Java from disc, not web.
That's a bit of a worry, and still quite perplexing as to why it should only be effecting my snow.png file.
I'm sure I had an auto-update of Java happen to me last week too, but it didn't effect anything for me. I'll have a look at the snow file again, but it's just a simple texture with an alpha channel for transparency, just like any other texture file in the pack that also uses transparency, eg. hi-res clouds, and rain of course...so why the snow specifically and only mine!
You could try taking the 'snow.png' out of another pack and dropping it into my pack and see if the glitch happens again. At least it would narrow it down to being something about my snow file.
[edit]
Which of my packs do you use, Auld Grump? If you use my 32x pack, it comes with a 128x512 snow.png file which is double the scale for 32. You, or I, could make a 64x256 snow file and see if somehow it's the rez size difference that's causing hiccups. Not a very logical attempt at a solution, because my rain.png file is exactly the same size and type as the snow. However, it's the only difference I can think of between my pack and others where the snow works ok.
[edit 2]
Here's the 32x scale snow.png file to try, as suggested above...see what effect this has. I don't mean that to sound as ominous as it might from your perspective. Just having re-saved the file in Gimp again might have some effect. You'll need to rename it to 'snow' as Photobucket changes the name. Just drop directly into the 'environment' folder in the zip. If you use 7zip you don't need to unzip and rezip.
Don't worry it's not 'The Emperor's New Clothes' made of snow flakes...the file is there...just above this paragraph to the left hand margin. If you hover your mouse over it and right click and drag to desktop...you'll see it better then. Don't forget to rename it though.

I use the 64X version.
No worries, I'll just skip this update of Java.
I found a few PNG images that had... interesting... flaws in the new Java - always ones with transparencies, so it is most likely Java and my graphics driver causing problems. Both were updated recently. The error showed up again when I was playing around with some images that I created for an old RPG mapping program titled Dungeoncrafter, and only when using one graphics program - an older version of Corel Paintshop Pro. (Unfortunately the paint program that I am most familiar with. But not my only choice.) GIMP does not have that problem, and neither does Photoshop. (I should use Photoshop more, but it intimidates me.)
But not all of the images with transparencies have the problem, so.... Away goes that update, I will check Java again in a few weeks.
I am wondering - do you use a single level of transparency? Or several, all the other images that had problems had a single 100% transparency (generally what would be pink) and two that were partially transparent (including some snow images for placing over other images...).

Curse PremiumYeh! I thought blacking out the eye's wouldn't look so good, but the effect of hollow darkness worked quite well!
Just working on trying to improve the vertical edges, whilst still retaining some kind of bulbousness. couple more pics to follow if it works out ok.
