I have been recalled by my academy to prepare for one final exam before I obtain my TESOL certification. As a result, I may be unable to work on support for Millenaire, Thaumcraft 2 or Railcraft, given this addition to my personal schedule (which along with job-hunting has just reached from CRAZY to ABYSMALLY INHUMAN). However, if anyone around is willing to help, let me know and I will transfer my files over to you.
Found the episode on You Tube -
Coal tar shows up in the tag end of the first part, and is most of the second.
The Auld Grump
I can still remember those documentaries from my childhood. Didn't care too much for Michael Burke though. Att the time he used to present anything to do with science on the BBC and seemed to be everywhere. He was a good presenter, but seemed too aware of his self importance. Probably a nice guy in real life. He also presented 'Tomorrow's World' for a while ...another BBC science program that lasted for decades and then got cut in favor of soap operas.
I'm storing that little vid away for later perusal over a cup of tea and a 'sarney' (sandwich).
Speaking of pipes, CTM would make it super easy to Make pipes that connect to each other. I'll rough out a prototype as soon as I get home from work.
I will also be checking my temples more closely from now on.
Also wondering what that idea for the wither that you mentioned is.
Any and all info is gratefully received, but you'd still be limited by the shape of the brick fence. Skinning it with anything would be relatively easy, but you'd need a separate color.properties file to distinguish it from the nether brick color. One of those little experiments I've still not got round to.
Okay - the columns are gone, but supposedly there are still three chiseled stone bricks... I couldn't find them. Maybe in the hidden room?
That... does not look like the temples that I have found.
The Auld Grump
*EDIT* I confirmed that there are a very few Chiseled Stone in the temple's hidden room
Sadly, I used 19th Century archaeological methods.... The temple is naught but a hole in the ground now. But I got a lot of Mossy Stone from it.
Had to laugh at your 19th century archaeological methods. My first temple raid was very much Indiana Jones style, in that I blew the lot to smithereens ...by accident of course ...I was a museum professional in a previous life!
I hope they put chiseled stone columns back again. It would work perfectly for my CTM chiseled stone and would add a lot of atmosphere, especially when I get round to sorting and CTM'ing the cobble.
And Glimmar? Sister kicked me off the computer, again, so no mockup today. T.T
Beware of 'Little Sisters'. My youngest has her own computer, but still manages to make life a misery for her older brothers. Haha, I taught her everything she needs to know to wind her brothers up!
No rush, Takinomfan. I look forward to any and all suggestions, so long as you all keep in mind my limitations.
Now if I go quiet for a while, it's because I'm panicking and trying to finish as much off as I can before the big day, with a pretty packed schedule in real life. Brain is also a lot fuzzed from too many late nights. I did manage to sort something out for the spruce wood planks which I'm pretty pleased with ...should work very well around factories, heavy industrial complexes, railway settings, fantastical machines, bridge building and decking, etc. ...think 'old weathered sea-side Victorian piers' with wrought iron work. I'll save it for a video though ...if I get a chance to whip something up. Sorry to tease ...just such little time at the mo' ....

Oh dear.
Very best of luck with the exam, Sun and the dehumanising task of job-hunting.
Stop by when you get a chance and thanks for what you've contributed so far.

Only coins and armour samples have been dealt with so far. Coins you can find here, they are all on this thread; but the armour has not been done right. They are actually part of the Roburcraft (that's what I call my remix) texture collection for SimpleOres, but you may have them with my express consent for Millenaire's Japanese armour. I should be able to upload them all tonight.
That is the old Powder Stores - an Eighteenth Century hold over - in theory the compartmented design and fly away roofs would prevent the entire store of gunpowder from going *BOOM!*
As you might guess, in the real world it had mixed success.... But it was safer than having all the powder in a single big room....
I really do keep the various and sundry explosives in there, but then it has been relegated to general stores.

Probably my favorite texture pack, love the steampunk look. Amazing!
That's very kind of you to say, SpartanDoesAcid.
Some very big changes afoot in the next installment of the pack, v8 for MC 1.4 Many additions to the 64x pack and great changes to stone and wood ...and some surprisingly useful looking animations.
After my city project became corrupted, I started working on a tower using Demonette's Mythos texture pack. Recently, however, I started messing around with using this pack and have found that the tower works well as a steampunk alchemist's residence. Here's a preview of the outside. I'll post another album like I did with my - in retrospect - amateurish desert city when I'm finished.

Very nice! Looks like something from the more fantastical side of steampunk.
I very much like how your buildings are rooted in historical fact ...it gives a rhyme and reason to your creativity.
Heh, not always....
Following the Creeper blowing up pretty much the entirety of the facade for my water works I decided to tear it back down to the foundation, and create a simpler, less elaborate version - little more than a pump house and a water tower -
As you can see, I am a bit paranoid about lighting - I used up every bit of Glowstone that I had building this. The last two went on the streetlights just outside.
Whatever that building is, it is not the waterworks!
I still plan on doing a simple pump house and water tank, but this came out... interesting... I just have no idea what it is.
The Auld Grump, maybe some thing like a much scaled down Crystal Palace - made for the Great Exposition in 1851?
Thanks! I've come to the conclusion that realistic architecture isn't my strong suit, so I've been leaning towards the fantastical. I'm fine with admiring realistic works from people like you and Glimmar.
Hello again, inspired by this pack and by the Auld Grump, I have decided to do a short project, a dry dock. I have done many projects with earlier versions of this pack but this one is one that is directly inspired by this pack. I prefer form with function in my constructions. and that is why this pack is still one of my favourites . And so here is the dock, it's quite amateur as I usually build compact, functional orientated projects.
And those two slabbed structures are seven charge automatic cannons. Each cannon is equipped with forward and back charge condensers for maximum range.
Auld Grump, how did you upload your screenshots from flickr? Whenever I tried with the image function in the reply post, it gives me a error detailing how the image extension is not allowed on this community. If I am able, I would edit and repost the images not as links but as actual images.

Go to the Share function on Flickr - copy from the box, then paste on these forums. Flickr already includes the IMG command.
I have started using the Spoiler function to cut down on the size of the posts. See below, where I have done the same with your images -

Really amazing work, I admire your patience, every block is a piece of art. This has been my pack of choice since I found out about it, and has inspired many constructions that just don't look right without the colours and level of detail from this pack. Can't wait for it to update to 1.4 the new textures look great.
One question, I notice in a few of the screens you posted some of the textures are 32x and others 64x, is the 64x pack going to be separate or are you planning to convert the original texture pack? Sorry if you've already covered this and I missed it.
Many thanks, _stylo__. Glad you like, and thanks for taking the trouble to say.
As regards the 64 and 32x packs. I'm still working on both, but by the nature of the work, I first work on things at 64x now, and then do my best to scale down to 32x. This can be laborious work and often it's necessary to completely start from scratch with the 32x equivalent.
So there will still be two distinct packs, with both sharing the same texture files for things like guis, mobs, paintings, particles and now items, all of which will be at the higher res 64 pixel. I decided to make all new items at 64x and also slowly upgrade the remaining 32x to preserve my sanity. It's just not feasible for me to work on two scales every time I need to update. Bit by bit I will upscale all remaining textures, like mine carts and boats to 64x.
Therefore, the only distinction between the two packs will be the terrain block items, they remain 32x in the 32x pack and steadily increased in scale and detail in the 64x pack. This distinction also applies to any terrain animations or connected textures, which can be quite confusing and time consuming for me, but necessary to preserve any speed advantage for those who have to use 32x because of their setup.
Having spent most of yesterday and today working on a 'repair' anvil gui, using snapshot 12w41a I've discovered that it's been changed in the pre-release version, so it's going to set me back a day or two to put it right! Gah!! There's a lot of detail and animation in both that gui and the new beacon gui and it all needs re-jigging and re-animating.
It's likely that I will not be releasing an update until a few days after MC 1.4 is released on 24th October. I've just got too much on in real life at the moment ...sorry.
The new wither (and wither skeleton) and witch (to be converted to a mad professor kind of character) will probably not be ready for the next update either now.
I'm just about to install the 1.4 pre-release version of Minecraft and see what else I've already edited will need re-editing because of last minute changes by Mojang. I do this while muttering under my breath, "This is supposed to be fun...this is supposed to be fun!"
glimmer i was wondering if maybe u could if ur not to busy and ik ur famous and all with ur texture pack but was wondering do u think u could make a(me) beacon beam like the one on page 470 but like a royal purple beam ? if u cant its cool i understand i just know ur a really good texture artist and i was just curious if u could. love your work and hope u have a splendid day
