Is that any help? Not that I'm wishing to push UK currency over anything else, but a picture with Victoria on would be nice, but not necessary of course.
It will more than help, but I am still unsure the best way to go around skinning them. Would you like a direct view of the coin (perfect circile) or would you rather see an orthographic view? (oblong shape)

Up until the new 1.4 MC picture frames came along, I would have said everything looks better isometric, when you see it dropped, but having spent an enjoyable weekend framing items on walls, I came to the conclusion that having certain things like jewels and other suitable items more squarely flat on, would have enabled their use as decorative features on temple walls or pretend buttons and such in techy builds. ie. they'd appear more like they were inset, rather than isometrically floating in the picture frame. A bit of a quandary really. Given the time, I think I will change some of my items, so basically I'm not fussed which way you do them Sun.
If you can, have a go with the new picture frames. It's a very powerful little feature in Creative, if used for more than just the occasional wall painting.
FC certainly seems to rule his site with a rod of iron!
I liked the way in one sentence he dismissed the concept of texture artists wanting to animate fire or even that it has always been so since MC Patcher made it possible. However, I assume he comes from the stand point that if any other mod is required besides BTW, then it's irrelevant to his discussion, which is understandable from his perspective, but a bit limiting for everyone else. Especially when Minecraft's ultimate charm is in it allowing all users maximum choice on how they wish to play it.
Well, his attitude about things like this is usually a useful one. FC has taken the standpoint that he would rather work on the quality of his own mod rather than spend countless hours trying to achieve compatibility with other mods, which has its pros and cons. However, MCP is one I think he tries to keep compatible with due to the sheer amount of people who use HD packs, so when he dismissed the animation of fire I was rather surprised.
Then again, FC doesn't use TPs so we can't really assume him to know everything.
And yes, there is a very large iron banhammer present on his forums, he just likes to keep the more mature audience on the home site and not have update pesters starting new topics every 5 seconds when MC updates. Its strict but it definitely works, and thats the way he likes it
I absolutely love the texturepack, curious though am I the only one who found the default red wool a little on the pink side. Loving the new night sky though.
Loving it all
These were the current downloads before MC 1.3x was released. However, texture packs are backwards compatible, apart from the new creative gui introduced in 1.3. So to fix that, I have included the old 'allitems.png' gui file in the 'gui' folder of my pack. Simply drag it out of the 'old 1.2.5 allitems gui' folder and drop it directly into the 'gui' folder in my texture pack.
If you insist on using version 5 of my pack for mod reasons, etc, you will be unnecessarily missing out on a huge quantity of new and improved features, such as animated mobs and guis, hundreds of CTM random textures and all my new villagers, etc, etc., all of which will work perfectly well with MC 1.2.5

Glad you like the pack, and many thanks for the encouraging words.
The red wool, as with most of the wool blocks, apart from simulating various enameled panels, was also designed to work as cloth squares for things like airships and ocean going tall ships. For this darker, grungier version of Victorian Steampunk, I tend to think that more muted and faded colours have the right look and feel to give that weather worn look, especially when viewed from a distance .
Can you use a translator program please?
This forum primarily uses English as it's language.
Quite so.
Also please don't recommend download sites for my pack other than this one... it doesn't get my approval.
Anyone downloading versions of my pack from other sources cannot expect to get support from myself or other regular users here, for obvious reasons.
Anyone is free to feature details of my pack, with pics, vids, stories and reviews etc., but I always request that you include appropriate credit for my work and a link back to my thread here for the latest downloads and info. Then everyone is using the most up to date pack from the original artist... namely me, Glimmar, (meaning it's official and original). This thread is also were you will receive appropriate advice where necessary and possible, and find out what goodies there are in the proverbial pipeline with taster vids and pics. A place where you get a chance to make suggestions and comments about the pack directly to the pack's creator, because I try to make a point of reading everyone's comments...just keep it clean and polite please... oh and and good humor is always acceptable.
As I've never charged, used adfly or asked for donations (overtly or discretely), my only incentive to produce more goodies for everyone, is my visitor count here on the Minecraft Forums (my virtual home), and incidentally the only place I currently offer my work for your personal delectation. I don't think that's much to ask for over 2 years work.
I have a problem with the texture pack, when I go to open it it says "The archive is either in unkown format or damaged". And once I put it in the "texturepacks" folder, it shows up in Minecraft, but doesn't work, it comes up as a "default look of Minecraft".

Welcome to the MC forums, Miperzfed.
I shouldn't assume, but I'm guessing you may be new to using texture packs, so here's the instructions from my OP on the first page of this thread:
Instructions for Installation and Patching:
1. Ideally (but not necessary), ensure your game is a clean, freshly installed version of Minecraft.
2. Boot up the Minecraft game, select 'Mods and Texture Packs', select 'Open texture pack folder' and just drag the un-opened 'Glimmar's Steampunk' zip file into it, from where you saved it. Don't forget to select it as your pack of choice in the game menu.
3. VERY IMPORTANT! To fix graphical glitches inherent in Minecraft when using HD textures and to enable my HD font, animated water, lava, portal, fire and and many other special animations, random mobs and villagers, extra textures, lighting and biome colour effects and hi-res starfield, it is essential you apply the latest "MC Patcher"MC Patcher. There are clear instructions in kahr's thread on how to use MC Patcher. However, to see all the nice things in this pack please ensure to tick the following options when you run MC Patcher:
Under the 'Mods' tab please tick:
HD Textures
HD font
Random mobs
Custom colors
Connected Textures
Better Skies
(Better Grass is optional)
and under the 'Options' tab, please ensure that all HD Textures are set to 'Custom Animated'.
Optifine will mostly do the same as MC Patcher with some exceptions, but as I don't use that patcher myself, I can't say for sure what the results will be and cannot provide detailed support.
4. At the outset...any other mods I recommend are used by you at your own risk. I've used them mostly without any problems at all, but the responsibility is on you to read the relevant mod thread and sensibly back-up your Minecraft 'bin' and 'save' files before making any changes you may later regret.
Have a read through the more detailed instructions in my spoiler above, but just to be clear, you don't need to do anything prior to putting the downloaded zip file of Glimmar's Steampunk in your Minecraft Texture Pack Folder. Just put the unopened zip file, as it comes when downloaded, directly into your Minecraft Texture Pack Folder. Minecraft is already set up to use zip files.
However Minecraft as yet is not set up to support HD packs (any pack with a greater pixel resolution than 16x - the default vanilla game resolution), hence the need to download a patcher program like 'MC Patcher' (link in the spoiler above). MC Patcher fixes many graphical problems when running HD texture packs, but better still, it allows texture pack artists to include animated textures, many and varied ways of manipulating textures to vastly improve how blocks behave, atmospheric lighting and landscape colours, and now wonderfully realistic sky effects.
If you've never done it before, you might find it a little confusing at the start, but it's well worth the small amount of effort required.
Once you use MC Patcher and successfully run your first 'patched' texture pack (if it's a good quality pack), you will most probably never look back to vanilla Minecraft again and using MC Patcher will come second nature to you every time Minecraft is updated.
By the way, once MC Patcher is installed, you can happily switch between different downloaded texture packs without having to re-patch. Enjoy playing Minecraft in thousands of different styles and themes!
Later on, when you're curious to explore what exactly goes in a texture pack, can I recommend using a little free archiver programme called 7zip. It lets you convert a zip file back into a normal folder and much more besides, so you'll be able to tinker with any zip file and personalise it to just how you want to play Minecraft. In the first instance though, it's not in the least necessary to muck around with such things to experience the full glory of a texture pack in game.
It will more than help, but I am still unsure the best way to go around skinning them. Would you like a direct view of the coin (perfect circile) or would you rather see an orthographic view? (oblong shape)

Oh… you'll have to take the animation file for the pickaxe out of the animation folder for it to use the pickaxe on the item sheet.
There are quite a number of items in this one as well, too, but still it does not cover the entire mod.
I'm sorry, I began to write in Russian))))

Curse PremiumThe animation folder is named "anim" and is in the same layer as terrain.png. Obviously, you'll find both of those in the texture pack.
Loving it all

Curse PremiumAh...then my apologies for jumping to conclusions.
All sorted.
