I recall reading somewhere that there was limited support for Better Than Wolves, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
Yeah, that might have been from a review by Mckrawll for Glimmar's pack, at leas thats the only place its ever been spoken about "publicly"
The pack is actually about 95% done. I only have 3 more GUI to do before the pack is 'complete'. Then I am going to go back and edit stuff for the rest of eternity, forever trying to obtain perfection...

You're catching my disease!
Speaking of animations again. I've just managed my first animated painting of a rotating brass flywheel 64x64. Pretty 'chuffed' (do you folk over the water understand that expression of smug achievement?). It's very late here now, or I'd be back into making some more rotating cogs and wheels as they make a huge difference to the feel of things.
I'm guessing you BTW officianados are more acquainted with moving mechanical contraptions in the landscape than little old me.
Anyways, after breaking that 'rotation' animation hurdle, I need to catch up on some serious sleep.

Hope the studies are going ok, Jester.
Good to hear about those new paintings, those will add alot of atmosphere!
Ive heard my Irish cousins say 'chuffed' but I never understood what it meant, guess I do now Hope you get some good rest!

Yep lived in Europe for a bit and picked up a bit of the slang and have friends from there as well.

Ah. . . a bit of an information leak there, then lol.
Ah. . . a bit of an information leak there, then lol.
Oh no, The pack has been up for download a long while. Here's the link to the post on the BTW Forums. I haven't actually posted any update here in a while but I regularly update over there.
Glimmar, Glimmar, Glimmar. I love ya man, but even on my brand-new beast of a computer your OP still takes forever to load. Maybe try compressing some images or making liberal use of spoilers?
I know! It's an utter mess of pics and clips up there, but it's like a stuffed up cupboard and who wants to waste a couple of days sorting rubbish out, when I could be working on animations, CTM and new stuff for 1.4.
Mostly everything is in spoilers, but I was beginning to suspect, like OnlyTheFool76 said, that the spoilers don't really make an actual difference to what visitors have to download when they visit for the first time, other than hiding stuff away. It's easier if you visit more regularly though, then it only stuffs up your cache!!
I'll get my apron and feather duster out soon and get it sorted.. wish me luck!
At least they aren't like opening presents from your grandmother. You know exactly what you are going to get and as a child you were also dissapointed.
Ah those were the days.
I actually appreciate those gifts now on the rare occasion I get them.

Are you sure we're not related! Sounds like my Grandma.
My city that I was working on is no longer appearing in my world saves, suggesting that the save has been corrupted, so it looks like the only thing left of it will be the gallery I uploaded here.
Woah, I come back on to check the forums for a possible update and someone has animated a mod texture for BTW?!
Today is a good day
Thank you for the work Takinomfan, I was going to wait a long while before testing out animations but you seem to have beaten me to the punch. I really appreciate it! What texture was it may I ask?
Regarding the scrolls, I do not believe you can make an individual animation for each ID from my quick skim of the MCP forum, but if you really want to then keep trying And PLEASE do NOT ask FlowerChild about the textures. Im sure that if you've lurked around the BTW forums for a bit you know he doesn't take kindly to requests for aesthetic purposes (which is perfectly reasonable). Lets keep this on the MCP side of things for now
So many famous people! o.O
I really wasn't planning on actually asking FC, especially with the bit of drama that came up this morning concerning texture packs and his new stoked fire animation. Plus Morvelaira talked me out of it. But, I may try communicating with Kahr to see how viable editing textures by the ID and Metadata is.
And sorry for not being clear with this, but I'm not making textures based on this pack... It's a different texture pack...
And the item I animated? Well for that you'll have to visit my thread. ^.^
I discovered your mod five or six months ago and it's all I use now. It's really amazing. Also amazing is how hard you work to keep up-to-date (at least from what I've seen). I play survival and have been slowly building my hole-in-the-wall home base into the hub of a small town, with the hopes of making a large city eventually. I really like the way the ctm columns are turning out. It's gotten me curious about tweaking your pack (for myself only of course) to make for similar sandstone columns. I'm running into a problem getting the .properties files to be recognized by mcpatcher. what text/code editor do you use? Or rather what file format should I be saving as? I'm pretty raw as far as coding is concerned. I've posted a similar question on the Texture Artist's Guide to MCPatcher thread, trying to see where I can get an answer first. If anyone else has any suggestions, that would be welcome as well.

You should be able to just use TextEdit, NotePad, or something similar that will save it as a .txt file. Then, when saving, replace the .txt filetype with .properties. At least, I'm fairly sure that'll work. (I haven't fiddled with this myself, but I've done enough similar things that I'm fairly sure this will work).

I was trying that, but underneath it was still applying the .txt extension at the end. I dug a little deeper online and found I needed to do something more than simply type in .properties after the filename. When you "Get Info" on a file there is a subsection called Name & Extension that allows you to change the extension.
Thanks for responding ksheep, it prompted me to do the deeper digging!

Ah, I guess it would depend on OS. Some OSes and programs don't mind you directly changing the file type, but others are a bit more picky. I'm just used to it being fairly straightforward: TextEdit saving with the extension you tell it to, the OS saying "Are you sure you want to change the file type" if you manually change the type later… I'm just not familiar with how it behaves on Vista or Windows 7 (or 8, for that matter).

This happened to me too.
You could have just edited one of my .properties files and used it as a template... that might have been easier.
Glad you like the pack and I may do something more to the sandstone column side of things. I'm also working on trying to convert my marble half block to a classical column design when stacked, whilst retaining it's usefulness as a single half block. As such I may be slightly lightening all my stone blocks and bringing the colour of the cobble more into line. A bit time consuming to get it right though.
As I keep mentioning... between MC Patcher's animation and CTM functions, there's enough scope in MC alone to keep one busy for years!
The new picture frames and plant pots are pretty globally useful too for decoration purposes. Some wishes I have though. I wish the picture frame was the size of a single block rather than slightly smaller (I think it would have been more useful for changing the appearance of blocks). I think the frame part should have been a separate texture from wood, but I can understand Mojang trying to save space on the terrain sheet.
Whilst slowly upgrading all items to x64 scale, I am considering changing a number of items from an isometric angle to a more horizontal or vertical position. After playing around with the new picture frames, I've found isometric items to be less useful when used as decorative wall mounted jewellry and gold, etc. Whereas if items are more vertically/horizontally placed, they look more like inset precious stones, buttons, etc. useful as wall decorations for palaces and such, or as fake buttons and gadgets for labs and factories, etc.
I wish there was more than one size of plant pot (they make great architectural features even without plants in! Chimney pots anyone?). I can't for the life of me understand why they didn't include the option to put tall grass in them though. All my random ctm plants sit in a pot beautifully, except tall grass (and all the wild flower variations I have and was planning) are banned! Just seems unnecessarily limiting. I was hoping that might have changed with this weeks snapshot, but I still can't squeeze a tall grass plant in there...not no how!!! Smashed pots every where!!

Curse PremiumAnd I thought it's where you're supposed to put all your worst examples and that's why they're called 'spoilers'.
Nah! Like you, I see them more as little surprise packages where you make big discoveries.
