It's ok Glimm...none of your work is bad, so it's all good. The stone half block and cobble is the only thing that really makes the builds look odd. I can always find an alt block in game...lol
Look forward to more great stuff!

well thanks anyway it is nice to at least know you would take the time to look for it
YOU THE BEST GLIMMAR!!!!!!!!!
It's the sort of thing I would have backed-up somewhere, but what might have seemed a logical place back then was bound to have me scratching my head now.
I even looked back through old OP edit back-ups and found Proloe's last Mediafire download address for the modified pack and the page doesn't exist any longer.
I'm thinking the best bet now is some kind soul, or even Proloe herself, offering a backup copy of the work. When, or if, I find it in my travels through my hard-drives, I'll pass it on. This is also assuming Proloe doesn't mind her edited textures being re-used.

Haha! An awful lot of my stuff leaves a lot to be desired, mate. I just never get the chance to go back and mop up the bad stuff.
Is it just me....or are there some textures missing from the 32 version? I dunno what's supposed to be where, but the birch planks are gone. From the looks of it in comparison from the previous version, some others are missing (next to the birch block location).
Just thought I'd catch up on some recent posts I didn't get a chance to respond to.
First and foremost though, for all those requesting support for SteamCraft. I found my old copy of Proloe's last edited version of my pack which is here: http://www.mediafire..._v0.2_1.6.5.zip
Now this combines my pack with some original textures by Proloe and Proloe edited versions of my textures. If someone would like to undertake the task of updating Glimmar's Steampunk support for this excellent mod for inclusion in ksheep's Glimmar's Steampunk Mod Support Pack in my OP, then I'm pretty sure you would need to have Proloe's permission to use her original textures (unless she gave permission when she abandoned the project). Also any attempts at updating using any of my textures, would have to abide by my conditions of use in my Mod Support Section, coordinated by ksheep.
Awesome starfield o.o
Also, I would love to see custom fences
All in good time!
Some aspects of CTM I find harder to get my late night tired brain around, but in time my beady eye will gaze long enough on a subject to get some spark of inspiration. Just now I'm having a hard time physically finishing off a RL building project, so I'm lacking a little creative energy in the evenings and just catching up on a little relaxing creative MC building of my own to recharge the batteries, so to speak.
Woah, lets calm down here. I dont think its polite to look at someone's work and say "yeah thats cool, but what else is there?" no matter how tempting it may be (and with all these new features for MCP coming out it is very tempting).
Quite so! But I think folk have got used to me slinking off if there's too much pressure.
Great looking textures. I am currently using the Technic/Tekkit mod packs and would love to use these textures with it but they haven't updated it to Minecraft 1.3.2, but they are still using minecraft build 1.2.5. I started searching your post but with so many pages. I would suggest adding a link to older versions if there is one. i searched the internet to try and find an older version of your pak but it kept sending me here. Also, would this texture pack work with version 1.2.5 or would it cause problems? If it is compatible with the older version I would suggest stating that in your description.
Glad you like the pack, raz51177.
That's a seriously good suggestion, about having links to older versions of the pack, especially as I only delete really old versions to make space for newer packs. I'll look into doing that for the future...if I remember to make a note of it!
How did you create that star field? Was it a photomanip, and if so how on earth did you take such a photo!
Just in case you didn't spot this in my v7 changelog, this is what I wrote about the making of my new starfield texture:
"The work is original to me, but inspired by many excellent panoramic photographs and artwork. All the stars were randomly generated by my own random brushes in Gimp and a painstaking amount of work adding stellar and atmospheric gaseousness. A goodly number of stars and various colour effects were added individually, hence why this took so long to make. However, the most difficult thing for me was trying to figure out how the MC Patcher 'box' template had to be filled with my work to make it wrap believable around the world."
I've been interested in astronomy since I was a young kid, so I'm used to gazing in wonder at anything to do with the heavens. I've also made the odd starfield pics in the past and for this 'little' project searched unsuccessfully for some kind of star 'generator' to cut down on the donkey work. However, apart from an old win98 program which I failed to get running, nothing other than expensive commercial programs were available... so I just got stuck in and did it the hard way and had fun on the way and satisfaction at the end result!
Hello, Glimmar. I really like this texture pack, but... I'd like it to be more steamy. It is steampunk after all!
I don't know if this has been suggested before, but would it be possible to make redstone more steamy rather than redstoney? I have a BUD switch hooked up to one of my furnaces and it looks really cool when firing up the furnace makes the pistons come alive. The red smoke out of the redstone "pipes" and the other redstone elements feel out of place though. Would it be possible to make it look like it's condensing leaking steam, rather than redstone? This would be probably some work though, because one would have to change the other redstone elements too (like torches, repeaters, etc) to better fit the steamy pipes.
Just throwing an idea out there. If you think it's bad, feel free to ignore me.
Way back when I originally did the redstone 'pipes' I wondered at the possibility of real steam effects, but back then all particle effect colours were hard-coded. I think MC Patcher does allow some control over redstone and particle effect color, but I haven't looked into it due to other pressures, but I've grown to like the more ethereal aspect of redstone now and with much recent animation work I'm kind of deeply tied in with the colour red for the steam effect. If I had time on my hands I'd have a proper look at what MC Patcher would allow me to do, but it would be a problem at the moment.
Glad you like the pack and I'm glad of all the ideas that folk throw out, and I try not to ignore anyone who politely or enthusiastically suggests things... your post being a prime example of good intention.

Ooh, the Steamcraft textures! I'll take a look at that at some point (although my weekend looks more or less booked) and see what I can do.
Also, sorry if this sounds like I'm dumping more work in your already quite full lap, but I just saw this week's snapshot. Looks like they're adding a number of new items, including potatoes and carrots (and a couple alts for them, like baked potatoes and the like). They've also added frames which will let you hang items from walls (not sure if it's a new texture or just uses wood texture), stone walls (act like fence, use stone texture), the ability to dye leather items (not sure HOW that'll work), flowerpots, and a new mob.
Thought I should give you a heads up and let you mull over the possibilities for those, and I understand if you're already swamped with other projects. Have fun!
What you doing at the moment! I don't venture out as much these days... even within these forums, so I'm not sure what your latest texture project is.
Found a style that I enjoy, a lot. I'm making a pack that is hand-drawn, on paper, scanned and edited for tiling. I use sharpies and so far it's turning out rather well. Other than that I am working. A lot. New job and we just got rid of one of the other cook so I am picking up most of his shifts. Paychecks are really nice.

Lol! No, I'll check it out when TMI gets updated. MC Patcher is updated and as usual has thrown some new things into the mix. So MC and MCP combined continue to exponentially blow my mind with the possibilities.

Best of luck with the job... hope you're energy levels still allow some time to continue Ink-Trigue.

Could you make a Wolf look kinda like the dog does in full metal alchemist? instead of being complete cyborg its only his leg that is machine, think that would be awesome.
That was ever my intention, tolle96. That and other variations, but Minecraft combined with MCP just keeps throwing up so many avenues of work and I'm struggling a bit for free time at the mo' (just typing this over a quick bite to eat, before I get back to real concrete, stone and timber crunching! "I'm a lumberjack and I don't care..." :D).
I'm curious, do the patches ever make it difficult to keep up? I can't imagine it being easy having to manage an ever increasing set of items to texture.

From a player's point of view, constant new additions can only be a good thing... right? To a texture pack artist trying to be original and faithful to a theme with limited time, it can be a pressure... especially when it's just one of a few things I'm involved in (work, family, other hobbies, exercise, etc), and of course I still really enjoy developing my world build.
It feels like it's an everlasting race to catch up, and in some ways it leaves me with a feeling of dissatisfaction, in that I don't feel I ever get the chance to perfect certain textures or even complete longstanding gaps in the pack.
However, don't get me wrong, having the snapshot updates is far preferable to having an update appear out of the blue.

I don't know if you have looked at More Paintings lately but he has a new version called Tiny Pics Edition. Not sure if it would work for what you were interested in or not.

I agree, it's always good to have friends pop in again. It seems to have been the week for it.
