1.3 pre-release is out now. Which I'm guessing means no more new stuff and is pretty much ready.
Do we get any sort of date for when this will be released or a vague time (like "next week" or "in a few weeks")?

Assuming I'm still alive on the day Minecraft 1.3 is officially released and that I manage to download it via the usual update method, and as soon as I've given it a 'once-over' with MC Patcher, I shall release my version 6 pack (sounds like a fit update to me! ). So take that as being on the same day as release if all goes well.
I'm currently trying my best to finish off my last taster movie as proof of the rest of the new material, including all the new guis.

That ore was originally donated by… can't quite remember who. I've got it written down somewhere. Anyway, I believe the bluish-green specks were supposed to represent oxidized copper.

Hmm, well from an outside point of view, it should probably just be a regular reddish orange color. My first reaction upon seeing it was that it was an error in the actual texture and while it is a cool detail, it doesnt really fit with the rest of the ore texture

Just my opinion though.
Yeah, that was my thought at first as well, but it works. If need be, I think there is an alternate that you can swap it, and I think it might be interesting to make another one where, instead of green specks, half the ore is turning green. After all, some copper ores are entirely green when dug up, while other deposits are in various stages of oxidation.

Hm, that is pretty interesting. It would be a good idea to put into the texture, but it should probably be redone or removed in its current state. It either needs to be mostly red and orange or have a much more flowing range of colors, rather than a dozen blue specks all over

Yeah already talked to sheep about it. Might I suggest trying to edit it to make it a little more obvious that thats how the copper ore is intended to look? Myself and sheep both said that at first we thought it was an error with the texture and not intended. Just a suggestion, it would be annoying for people to constantly come on here and say "Yo your copper ore texture is broken, Fix plox"

That said, I am having a little problem with the brewing GUI. It is showing nothing but white where the GUI should be. I am playing with the better than wolves mod and am using JesterMailMan's TP addon for so that the BTW textures match yours. Do you know why it's acting weird?
A final 15min taster movie is currently uploading at the mo', and Youtube/ISP combo is so slow, so just a quick peek in before like the rest of you I sit and wait for the 1.3 launch.

JesterMailMan might have more experience on any conflicts that might exist when using BTW. I'm not aware of any problems with any of my guis under normal circumstances, other than the incompleteness of the brewing gui artwork itself. Sadly, it's still not finished in my v6 update...mainly because I want to make something worthy of it and had too many other things on the boil!
Silly obvious question to ask, but is the brewing gui still white when not using BTW?
You could always stick the sections into spoilers.
It won't solve everything having to load but it will be shorter and won't take as long to get to the section you want.
It's not the best way but it'd be better than what you have right now.
I have vast amounts already bottled away in spoilers, but I'm reaching the limit would you believe, even using spoilers. No, it needs a good old sort out up there again, but after the launch of 1.3 and my update, I'm booked up for the rest of the summer with other activities. I'll still be around, but not to do anything majorly astounding by way of shake-ups.

Thats very odd. I just went to my world and tested and my brewing GUI works fine. You do mean the Brewing Stand GUI correct? Not something from BTW like the cauldron or crucible?
If you cant get it to work please post what mods you have installed (if any others than BTW) and what order they were installed as well. And are you using Optifine or MCPatcher?

New Animated Guis, Hi-res Stuff & Leprechauns?
Glimmar's Steampunk Update v6 Taster Vid 4
FINAL Part 4 of a series of movie teasers showing version 6 of my Minecraft texture pack, 'Glimmar's Steampunk' (UberGaffer is my youtube alter ego).
This episode gives a preview of my new and animated guis and a round up of other hi-rez stuff which I've been working on this past couple of months. You will need MC Patcher to activate all the animations featured. Optifine will mostly do the same, but as I don't use that patcher myself, I can't say for sure what the results would be. What you see here is made using Minecraft 12W26a and MC Patcher 2.3.7_02. I believe the latest version of MC Patcher allows editing of day and nighttime sky textures, but that's for another day for me.
Animated textures, such as those seen in my new guis and the villager automaton skins, items and terrain features are exactly as depicted in the movie (aside from standard video transitions of course).

Spare a thought for me testing the pack with the new 1.3 Minecraft and the latest MC Patcher. I really don't want to start all over again re-spacing HD fonts and such. Too many late nights under the belt already. However, as the vid says at the end, there's still much to do, but just as soon as I can, expect me to upload version 6 of my pack.
I guess this means you are going to upload v6 tomorrow? You say there is still much to do so will it be ready by then or are you going to push it back further?

No...really it will be out just as quick as I can check things over (also will have to wait on MC Patcher, but usually that's the same day). I'm busy with the family during the day tomorrow (which is actually 1st Aug now here in the UK), so probably won't get the chance to tackle it 'till the evening.
By the time I get round to trying to update on the MC servers, I'll probably be locked out in the rush to update.

You need to patch the game with either MCPatcher or Optifine.
