No update on Better Than Wolves at the moment but I have a question Glimmar.
Perhaps I am an idiot and cannot find anything about this in your copyright, but over on the BTW forums I AM using placeholder items from other packs. I at first thought this was okay because sheep would not be getting my textures from the forum so I have been keeping two separate files, one with blurry defaults for this forum and one with proper placeholders on the BTW forums. Im not sure whether you simply don't allow your textures to be mixed at all or just not for your mod section on this forum. The placeholders I am using do allow me to do so and if you have a problem with me mixing them on the forum I will reupload a version without the placeholders, after all you are the boss here. I just want people to use the pack without missing items or extremely blurry placeholders (I simply cannot find a way to upsize the defaults, but if someone knows hows I would greatly appreciate it).
Hope this gets cleared up because I don't want to get anybody angry over copyrights
P.S. Thank you for the compliment on the vid. I would love it if you could add it to your mod section next time you update!
EDIT: Why is your pack stolen from so much? Ive never seen another texture pack be copied off so much as yours
FURTHER EDIT: Okay I FINALLY figured out how to resize the defaults properly! WOOT! I will simply reupload on BTW forums with the defaults just to be safe. I would still appreciate an answer though just incase, for whatever reason, something like this comes up again.
(I simply cannot find a way to upsize the defaults, but if someone knows hows I would greatly appreciate it).
What are you using to create the textures? I know that Photoshop occasionally has this problem, and I wouldn't be surprised if other programs are similar. However, I believe the solution to this is to turn Anti-Aliasing OFF when resizing (or in general when working with textures). Should be in the preferences somewhere.

Actually, I figured it out right after I posted that! I was using the improper resizing tool in Photoshop and forgot to check "use nearest neighbor" so it wouldn't be blurry.
So here is the proper "btwitems01" file with the defaults as placeholders (Again, The edited textures were done by TheHoboHunted and not by me)
Now I don't have to worry about the hand of copyright justice sweeping my work away any longer!
Btw, TheHoboHunted is working on custom animations for the Mattock (Drill) and Battle Axe (Chainsaw) but I don't have an exact date for when those will be ready. Just thought I would give some news about upcoming stuff.
If you use Optifine too, it might be that causing the problem as I'm not sure it fully supports all of MC Patcher's functions, particularly in the area of lighting.
...sorry to only pick out a few posts. Much appreciation for the encouraging comments, and for the usual help folk give to others. It's rather a busy weekend for me, but I'm still working on the next update. So the 'changelog' I uploaded (a couple of pages back) is swelling. However, enthusiasm ebbs when my stuff gets used without credit!
Hah! You beat me to it! I take too long finishing a post.
Optifine:
Esc-->Video Setting-->Quality-->Custom Colors
On means it uses custom coloring, off means it does not. Optifine is once again vindicated.
Edit: just for proof: - Custom light colors (torches, skylight) (√)

Does it use the same preferences file as MCPatcher though? Also, I'm fairly certain that Technic (or at least Tekkit) uses an older version of Optifine, which may or may not have that. Not entirely sure tho…
Just to clarify, I've been using Optifine quite a bit lately, as I've been playing on a Tekkit server, but I've always preferred MCPatcher over Optifine for some reason.
...Why is your pack stolen from so much? Ive never seen another texture pack be copied off so much as yours
It's just been around longer than most and although it doesn't usually get stolen from as much as John Smith's or Misa's, there are parts of it that appeal to those wanting to use it for sci-fi/steampunk themes. Most still probably use the stuff in all innocence, but there are those who should know better.
What are you using to create the textures? I know that Photoshop occasionally has this problem, and I wouldn't be surprised if other programs are similar.
I use Gimp mostly and when enlarging textures it's necessary to choose, Image, Scale Image and select 'none' for Interpolation, resulting in accurate enlarged pixels rather than a blurred image. Took me a while to work that one out, way back when I first started. Most know I'm new to pixel art and textures, being an old school kind of artist with a studio and easel and pots and pans, etc.
Now I don't have to worry about the hand of copyright justice sweeping my work away any longer!
JesterMailMan89, I doubt anybody would sweep your work away as you are entirely a very reasonable person and well aware of giving credit where credit is due. It's those who, for one reason or another, fudge the issue over credit or permission who should worry ...but probably don't.
Incidentally, not linked directly to my previous statement, but plusnine at VoxelBox has contacted me regarding use of my textures and he's a very reasonable chap who has offered to alter the VBwiki to give proper credit, etc. So a good outcome over there.
VaultCraft seems to have terminated his download button after my second complaint. I don't wish him or his pack ill, but it was unsatisfactory to have stuff in there, probably still as placeholders - though not sure, but clearly uncredited after his initial quick response to my first complaint.

There are probably always going to be problems and confusions betwixt these two programs, as one introduces new things over the other. I'm amazed it's even possible to use them both together. I'm not sure merging them both together would be the ideal solution either, as being able to use either independently has it's advantages. It's a quandry!
Hey glimmar, I'm not sure if you saw my post a while back about minecraft on the Xbox. But I've been staking the wiki and it did say that minecraft for the Xbox will have texture packs eventually. So if when that happens Ill be happy to convert or just test it for you since I will be buying it.

In trying to keep a low profile, I must have missed it, Green.
It sounds very interesting. Keep me posted and I'll decide a little nearer the time. Thanks, mate.
I have visions of multitudes of puzzled Xbox players attacking my thread with pitchforks and torches, demanding an explanation for my torture bed and diving pumpkin. Oh no!!
Ok I did some research to end the custom colors problem. Here's the deal:
Optifine DOES support custom lighting, in exactly the same way MCP does. Click Here for more information comparing the two. The problem is, only the more (maybe most) recent optifine supports it (most recent is the 6th edition of the 1.2.5 version) I figured that out after it wasn't working on my computer. So, if you can, update optifine to the newest version. And, to remove custom lighting your choices are: newest optifine: turn it off in options-->.video settings--> quality--> custom colors. Or, with MCP, don't install custom colors. Or, for both, remove lightmap0.png in the environment folder in the zip. Only the last method will prevent the loss of all custom colors.
I certainly don't want to sit on this any longer than necessary, but a number of animated gui changes took longer than anticipated. I'm also just getting my head around MCPatcher 'Connected Textures' in the landscape - to provide more variety of plant life, etc.
As usual, real life also got in the way....
Basically...as soon as I can, and I'm hoping you'll think the wait was worth it.
Don't worry about the Xbox players thing. I'm an Xbox player, and the only people on there stupid enough to run at your thread complaining about your pack, are too busy playing either Viva Pinada or Call of Duty.
How does one open this thread and not fall in love with this texture pack? Impossible.
Thanks for the brilliant Texture Pack. I will be waiting on the edge of my seat for each and every update just so I can see the little changes such as when I first saw the animated crafting table after updating. Ahh, how something so simple makes me so happy.

Awhile back I suggested mcKrawll use this texture back for his Better Than Hardcore series. He did not end up using it ( ), but it does appear in his video.
Edit: oh, and whoever deleted (or requested deletion of/reported) the advert for the other pack, thank you for keeping this topic clean, especially of that level of... {words}

Ah thats a shame. I would have been very happy if he ended up using my add-on, and sheep's, as well! Maybe some other time though, this pack is definitely hard to get used to.
That being said Pandoku is a great Tp mix so he still made a good choice
@sicmap
Thank you very much Always good to hear positive feedback. I don't know about Tropicraft though man. I would give it a shot but Glimmar doesn't have a huge selection of plant alts and even fewer tree alts. I could try to copy/paste some new things together but when it comes to plants and saplings that usually is just asking for a choppy looking mess.
If you really still want me to try just post another message and Ill give it a go, but I can't promise anything

If you download Glimmar's extras (just below the texture pack download) the should be a several character skins.
