A number of the pack users are currently working on mod support. Most appear to be using Technic/Tekkit as a guide as to which mods to work on.
I would keep working on them, but I have exams coming up and a job. I would like to do the connected textures support if someone hasn't already did it, also if I do Ill do a second one for a different bookshelf texture since the one that is on the pack doesn't seem to be much of a bookshelf :/
I was just running around in this TP. It was super super detailed!
I also really love what you did with the mob skins, really creative.
The villager scared me at first but then I had to be amazed by them XD
Also love the industrial feeling this TP gave me,
specially the customization on some blocks like the book shelf and the stations. <3
I can't believe I haven't been using this pack longer. I just found it and I think it's absolutely amazing.
I am, however, having an issue with the font, but after searching the thread I came to find it was an issue with mcpatcher's support of HD Fonts. Is there a way we can temporarily revert back to default fonts?
Any help is greatly appreciated and like I mentioned earlier, AMAZING texture pack. I'll definitely keep coming back for more updates
I am devout supporter of optifine>mcpatcher because... well, it IS! You can turn off fonts, animations, and the like. But, to answer your question, either delete/rename the "font" folder in the texture pack, or install optifine! But yeah, you can install optifine with patcher, and you no longer need any of the default mcpatcher mods, even random mobs!
Ah the fail she be epic...
I have been using this texture pack and the "Better Than Wolves" mod for quite some time and today I was scrolling through the alt textures and just randomly started to copy and paste together some textures for the mod. I ended up doing mostly the whole mods worth of textures! Well not the gui or items, but all the block textures. After I was all done I thought I post it up here! However, after I read your copyright, is it ok if I were to post the textures? It is absolutely 100% all of your work, I just copy and pasted bits together for the sake of looking like what it was supposed to, so I am (pretty sure it is absolutely not allowed!!!!) not sure whether or not to post. I think it looks decent and I would like some criticism and/or help with the rest as Im no artist. But whatever you deem right is right is the law
I am putting myself on a self-imposed exile from the forums for a few days so that I can better concentrate on my next update.
I am currently working on a goodly number of new animations for the pack, including many more working cogs (having devised a system that allows me to easily apply cogs of different sizes and rotational speed to appropriate skins) on mobs, vehicles, menus, etc. All of these animations will be x64 so that the x64 version of the pack will be in a better position to have the x32 terrain textures upgraded over time. Arcane electrical and alchemical stuff will also be included. However, animating things is tedious, time consuming and fiddly, but some of the results have been great fun to see working ingame.
Sadly, one aspect of animating things does make the prospect of including my pack on the Minecraft Customiser more, not less, impractical, (even if I had the time) simply because, exchanging an animated texture for an alt, requires the user to delve into the pack and remove animation '.properties' files, or any changes would result in the alt having moving cogs, etc in very strange places. Each animation, however small and insignificant has it's own personal .properties file to tell MC Patcher where to find the animation, which skin it's to be placed on, and where, etc.
As my free time is limited, you'll have to forgive my absence from the forums for a while, but this is just to reassure you an update is coming and is likely to come more quickly by my not answering posts for a while .
@JesterMailMan89: Have a look at the 'Mod Section' of my OP. I've recently approached licensing for mod support for this pack differently. So take heart and don't feel your hard work is for naught.
Ksheep is coordinating a mod support pack for me, which encompasses all the mods users of this pack are endeavouring to cover, using my alt textures and their own ingenuity. So, If you give sheep a shout, he is better placed than I to talk to, and if appropriate, he will include it in the compilation. You will of course be given credit for your work in the 'mod compilation' download and in my OP mod section. Many thanks for your support.
Ksheep, like many of you in the US at this time, is currently hard at work on his finals, so please bear with him on updating things for the mod support pack.
Thanks everyone for the kind comments. They are all very encouraging and much appreciated. All those asking for changes and new things... I do read your comments and I do take note, but time is limited (my personal 'Time Machine' is still being worked on! ) and I easily get distracted and called away to work, etc. However, your suggestions do influence me over time.

the easyest way would be to go to the font folder, remove font.png and font.properties

Thanks for the reply Glimmar.
I had known that there were people covering mods but I though that they either were creating their own textures that fit your style or were given some special permission to use the alt ones. Thanks for the heads up!
Ksheep, If you would take a look at my textures that would be fantastic! Just a note though, The current version of Better Than Wolves (3.60) i believe has a known graphical issue with some of the textures such as the crucible, stewing pot, pillar, etc. that sets off the sides by two pixels, so things may look off but it will most likely be fixed (I tested with other TP's and the default and there is a post about the problem on the official BTW forum). Also, I only did the block textures because I'm no artist so the items and gui are all from John Smith but I could just give you the block textures. FINALLY, (These Textures seem to be so incomplete now that i think about it!) I had to steal a single texture for the block of soap from another mix pack because I couldn't find anything that made sense in the alts.
Despite all of that (Which now I think Ill have to fix a bit) I hope you could at least take a look, I think I did a fairly decent job despite it being just cut and pasting with alt textures. Thank you guys!
EDIT: Wow, Im sorry, I forgot to mention that the hemp is also from a mix pack for the same reasons as the block of soap. I hope that if you post the textures that someone with more talent could handle making custom textures for those

If you could replace the stuff from other packs with the vanilla textures and post what you have, that would be great. I probably won't be able to test it out myself, as I'm busy, but I can at least glance over it and add it to the compilation when next I post an update. I'd suggest just posting it in here so others can test it out without having to wait for me to finish finals.
And don't worry about not having everything completed. Half of Railcraft isn't textured yet (one of the mods I've been working on), and I don't think anyone has done any GUIs as of yet. Still waiting for someone talented enough to take on that job, and we could also use someone on items…
This is all Ive gotten done with just the alt textures. Turned out I had a lot more textures taken from other packs but it couldn't be helped, most of them were really specific textures anyway. The default textures I couldn't resize properly so they are ridiculously blurry but they aren't supposed to be there in the first place so I don't really care and I hope others don't as well.
The file is called "btwterrain01". If you want to install it just create a new folder in the texture pack folder and rename it to "btwmodtex" and drop it in there. HOWEVER, there are a lot of other files that go in there so either you will have to deal with them being invisible or get them out of the default mod files.
Criticism is VERY much welcome. I plan on changing the crucible (the furnace looking texture) and the detector block (texture with blue and red dot) around a bit as well as the vase colors (rainbow on bottom) but this is what I have so far. Please keep in mind that textures such as the crucible, stewing pot, hopper, etc. are, as of Better Than Wolves version 3.60, off by two pixels. This will most likely be fixed in the next update of the mod and is a known issue.
WHEW! It took me a while to put this together and I hope people enjoy but please do not be afraid to say what works and doesn't (literally and figuratively). Sorry for the lengthy post but I like to make sure nothing is left out (including telling you why its so lengthy!). Thank you guys.
EDIT: Here is a link to the "Better Than Wolves" mod for people who want to test

1) fail of mcpatcher knowledge, he can jsut repatch it. 2) that might make the font problem worse... or not not sure.
So I decided to try out Optifine (increased my fps quite a bit!) but now glass and bookcase textures show as default. Any idea why?
:::EDIT:::
So I tried my hand at using the search function T_T. Apparently it's caused by the connected textures thing. I'll fix it

Yay, a convert! Yeah, it really does help with fps. But, glad you found the connected texture glitchy thingy :P. Good luck in all future texture packing/modding!
This texture pack is awesome! I love the animations and the mechanical mobs! I only have a couple complaints. The mossy cobblestone is not as defined and destinct as I would like it to be, I'd like it to stand out from normal cobble. Also the Nether textures are alright, but I don't like how nether-brick looks just like bricks.
Other than those, this is my favorite pack. Good job!

Look through the 600+ Alternate textures in the OP and find yourself a suitable replacement.
If you still don't find any you like you could use the texture you like from another pack and put it in with the program Glimmar directs to in the OP (The Texture Mix Machine) or do it yourself with Gimp/Paint.Net/Photoshop.

Sorry for reposting but I was shoved out of the way by being put on the last page...
Here, Xerposa did an article on your texturepack! http://xerposa.com/m...-for-steampunks Unfortunately they seem to have omitted one crucial detail; the pack's name/creator. Not sure how to fix that though...
