I'm an idiot, i had no idea the hash size thing was the ram.
I removed optifine, updated to 1.2.4 was running the last patch before.
Redid everyting in mcpatcher and the stutter is basicly gone.
(stinkin ipod is lagging on me.)
I went back to using the 64bit with animations no problems yet.
I think it was optifine's autosave feature that was causing it. My pcs and autosave never got along.
Given the extensive customisation offered through your extras pack is there any chance that it will make an apperance on http://minecraftcustomizer.net to help thos of us that arn't as adept at editing these in.
Glimmar has expressed interest in working with the customizer in the past, but he simply dosent have the time to set it up, what with RL stuff. He has also declined offers for others to help, as he wants a bit more control of it.
i love your texture pack, but for some reason your glass texture for both block and pane are at default look.
i dont use MCpatcher anymore, im a optifine fan and it should work the same. i was wondering if anyone else had this problem?
Crzain - by any chance are your bookshelves and sandstone also default? it sounds like you've got the Connected Textures option (found under 'Quality') turned on, which Glimmar's pack doesn't support yet
I can offer the re-textured wood and the redstone lamp anim in my 'alts', but I can't use the alchemy station as they contain textures that belong to other artists/texture packs. I don't approve of the use of artwork outside of this thread, as it is clearly against the forum rules and my own artistic integrity. Indeed I'd be grateful if you would remove that particular texture from the forum before the artists concerned complain to a moderator. It's fine for personal use, but not for redistribution. Sorry.
I must also point out, before you spend too much time on it, that the alchemy gui is very much a work in progress and the markings on the brass do actually represent where I will be placing various steampunk textures when complete.
Please be careful not to mix my textures with anyone else's if you upload it here. Re-editing my artwork and combining with your own original artwork, then offering it only within this thread on the theme of steampunk is fine. Basically don't use my artwork in someone else's thread and don't use theirs in mine, even with permission I'd rather not use someone else's artwork combined with mine unless it is your own and it's appropriate for this theme. Thanks.

Optifine...mutter...mutter!
Well I'm pleased that got sorted. As ksheep mentioned, the 64x version of the pack is no different than the 32x apart from lava, water, fire and portal textures (which definitely animate better at 64x), but I have to upscale all the 32x terrain and custom terrain anim textures to 64x or MC Patcher and Optifine downgrade the animations to match whatever resolution the terrain.png file is set to.
Given the extensive customisation offered through your extras pack is there any chance that it will make an apperance on http://minecraftcustomizer.net to help thos of us that arn't as adept at editing these in.
ksheep speaks the truth. I'm all for it in principle, but I just don't have the time to maintain the pack, this thread, play Minecraft, eat, sleep, look after my family, make a living and follow some other interests.
Some very kind folk have offered to upload my stuff, but as generous as that offer is, it would still require just as much effort from me deciding what was going where and emailing back and forth to maintain some kind of control on how the textures where grouped, etc. Also while my pack is still a WIP I'm very reluctant to start something that makes the process of completing it even more difficult.
If I win the lottery and retire, expect to see me over there at the Minecraft Customiser the next day...that is if I'm not on the first jet to the Bahamas!

This is a problem associated with the 'Connected Textures' option in...mutter...Optifine. Just switch it off in that mod's options.
I don't provide textures for that particular mod which Optifine included some time ago. As my glass is intended for structural work as well as windows and my sandstone doesn't require connected textures, it hasn't been a priority for me. To be honest, personally I really don't like what Connected Textures does to my glass and it's not necessary for my present bookcase/chemist drawer texture.
Like Misa, I much prefer the purity and simplicity of MC Patcher, so I don't use Optifine myself, but I understand why others need to.
I really like this texture pack. It ads a great element to Minecraft and makes me able to use different kinds of building methods.
I don't know if you are adding mods if people asks, but Better Than Wolves texture support would be really cool and would fit well in with the theme too.

well it is probably better that both textures are similar, so there is less of a change between the two. besides the way i see it the shear amount of detail really is what i like, doesn't matter the resolution.
but i used mcpatcher and i'm not sure if it is because i had custom colors checked or not, but my world looks weird at times, i get different filter effects, in my storage\warehouse i get this green glow, the place is lit with redstone lamps and torches. the torches are green so could see a green light coming from them but not the lamps they have a yellowish light.
i'm not complaining the effect is cool at times, during a sunset the land is bathed in a red glow, i like that. but i've used the current patcher and the earlier version, never got filters till now, is this normal or did i break my game yet again?
The Central Building Thingamajig where all the minecart passenger trains go and the place where you can get to another quickly! Something like that.
P.S. Its going to be resting on a giant platform, just like the rest of the city.
Hey Glimmar, i have a suggestion! since beds are time machines and cakes gearbox thingies, why not have cobwebs look more like smoke?
PPS Or whatever. Have I mentioned that this texture pack is simply epic!?
hey, Glimmar, I've got a ctm.png you could stick in the next update to stop people asking about the vanilla textures, should end up looking the same as without it:

Glad you like the pack, Scarrboros.
I do try to make the various textures as useful as possible for 'creative' building. Rather selfish of me, but building rather than surviving is what keeps me interested in Minecraft.

I found that Optifine wasn't producing the same effects with custom colors or as fine as MC Patcher, contrary to what is claimed.
Unfortunately, last time I looked (but I'm usually slow to notice new things) all light sources other than the sun give off the same color, so in choosing a colored glow given off by the green gas lamps I had to choose something between amber and green so that glowstone, etc wouldn't look too weird. I've not checked, but perhaps MC Patcher has the facility now to select different colors for different light sources.
Glad you like the effects enough and the rest of the pack though. Many thanks.

As are your constructions, but more so your efforts in finding the resources in your world for all that lovely brickwork.
I didn't get a chance to comment on your last pics, but I loved seeing all that mass of brickwork...well done I say!
Nice idea about the smoke, but I'd probably get too many complaints from folk if I deviated too much from the norm with everything, especially as how the webs are used quite a lot down in them thar' mines. Have you tried a few strategically placed fires inside your chimneys? You may not be able to see the smoke from a distance, but close by it can be quite effective.
Anyways, keep up the good work and many thanks for sharing the pics.
Amazing job mate, have you ever slept? I can't wait to install
Well if it's not me old mate, saint! It's always nice to be visited by good friends. I hope life is treating you well and very glad to hear your going to give the pack another try. I shall look forward to seeing some pics.
And in answer to your question about sleep, lol, I thought everyone that played Minecraft just went to bed for a few seconds and then woke up again ready to carry on as if nothing had happened.
Love the pack, I had a quick look and didnt see anything but do you support the Connected Textures Mod?
I tried it and it didnt work.
I don't, mate, if you check a few posts above I replied to someone else asking the same question and gave my reasons why I'm not rushing to support it. Glad you like the pack though.

Excellent work, Demi_Person. Many thanks, and you will be suitably credited for saving my sanity. I didn't think to do that! Now where to put it...

It was no problem, it had just occurred to me as a solution, and I don't have an awesome texture pack to work on.
ctm.png (you'll have to rename the one in my post) just goes in the root of the .zip, alongside the terrain.png, which is pleasingly simple

so the patcher is better, well i finally learned how to install mods with it and my game is running better.
i like the light effects, but it was the first i had seen it so i just wanted to know if that was suppose to happen, i tend to screw up things by modding alot. ^^;
Select all inside the file, right-click, chose "Compress all X files". This will make a file called "Archive.zip". Rename as you see fit, and move it into the Texture Packs folder.

Well, it's those pleasingly simple things that often make the difference. It's in the pack now, but I've not tested it yet. Thanks again. Any chance of you getting stuck in to a steampunk mod for ksheeps collection? A lot of folk are PM'ing me over the Tekkit mod for example.
Hey Glimm, heres another project for you to work on in your spare time
I have one of those on the kitchen side for making coffee! You know I am joking of course. I did have one, but I couldn't find a dishwasher big enough to stick it in, so it's gathering dust in the cupboard now.
That is one very seriously ingenious guy, to have collected together all that brass tech and worked out the timing and positioning so finely. It straddles the realms of art and engineering beautifully. All it needs is the imput of a little steam engine to circumvent all that muscle power.

Well, I suppose I like MC Patcher mostly because I'm familiar with it. If I'd worked and played with Optifine from the start, I'd probably be swearing by that mod instead.
You and me too when it comes to screwing up mods, hence when I'm trying to relax and create something new for the pack I avoid complicating things any more than necessary and avoid 'em like the plague. It's wonderful to have all the possibilities for extra mechanical mods, etc. but terribly distracting from the task of finishing the pack. Judging by how the main game is developing, that goal will probably slip even further away, but a great challenge to try and keep up.

You mean you didn't just build a big enough dishwasher? If you could make that machine, I'm sure you could make a dishwasher for it. Only problem is it would probably be the size of a garage and take enough water to fill a swimming pool.
Just gotta say that I love and adore this texture pack.
I've been building a Captain Nemo-style underwater labyrinth and bemoaning my current texture packs when I saw this on a youtube video. Spent the last hour basically exclaiming "Oh my. Oh perfect. Oh cool." pretty much.
The animation is great and I love that I can use things for various purposes other than their normal use.
For example, the noteblocks make awesome sporadic floor decorations. Keep up the good work. It's much appreciated!

Thank you, Enderman_Shade.
I love it when someone discovers the pack like you did, but more so when you say you were already building something my theme pack was made for. Have fun and when you feel ready to show any pics drop a few in here for us to see. Thank you for taking the time to give encouragement.
I will try not to disappoint over the coming months, assuming I get more time, and I will certainly be making a few more animations. I'm almost certainly going to try to bridge the gap between the desire for a normal bed and something a little mechanical, similarly with my pumpkin - I fancy a change there too. New higher res particles and certain effects like explosion, power, etc. need attention. I'm still planning on updating the old guis and mob animals, and introducing more human villagers. Probably the last thing to be textured though will be the dragon. As awesome a beast as it is and just begging to be made of brass and copper, until I get to see it in the 'overworld' in the default game, I don't see it as a priority.
