Awesome! Glimmer, when you get time you should look into animating mobs. It would be amazing, amazing, and amazing.
Your pack rules.
Agreed, I can't get enough of his water, portal, and lava textures. They are the best. I'll go check the Misas Texture Pack so I can make sure I was correct.
What kind of animations would look cool on the mobs though?[4.1.1] -Added animation support for following mobs: -Tamed wolves blink. -Tamed Cats blink lazily. -The purple flames inside the endermen now flicker when their mouths are open. -Flames now have animated--well--flames. -Mooshrooms have an unusual blinking animation. -Chickens blink twitchily. -Pigs blink. -Cows blink lazily. -Sheep blink Here are the animations in Misas pack and adding similar animations would be cool. Unfortunately, the animations only work for MCPatcher and not Optifine which I use
Just a heads up, I just tested downloading the mod texture compilation on a Windows machine, and I noticed that there were some previously-hidden files that were added in from my OS. This includes a file named "_MACOSX" and a number of documents named ".ds_store". These are all harmless, just being settings from Mac systems, but I will try to make sure these aren't included in future versions of the download. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Here's my latest update - v4 ( please note the change in version numbering. ie. next update will be v5)
Again my apologies that you've had to wait so long for my Steampunk Iron Golem...as consolation, I made two more variations whilst I waited for my ISP to sort out major technical problems. Apparently the problem wasn't my router, instead it was a problem effecting the whole of the North West of England. I had access all yesterday, but it went off again early evening for the whole night, which is when I usually upload files and images! Anyways, if it doesn't go off again tonight, you're obviously reading this now.
Download: Glimmar'sSteampunk v4 64x water, etc.zip
The 64x water, lava, portal, and fire version greatly improves on the quality of those animated textures. If your computer is powerful enough, I encourage you to try this version of the pack.
Changelog and Pics
Glimmar's Steampunk v4 for Minecraft v1.2.3.
Changed version no. to a simple numbering system that will now increase by one digit every update, eg. this update is version 4 and not v3.8
3 New Iron Golem villager mob.
Toned down the rivets on the copper panelled netherrack to dampen excessive moire in large builds and reworked the copper sheet.
New lapis lazuli block.
Edited the green gaslamp (torch) to give a black rim when seen from above. Necessary now there are no flames coming from the top.
New amber coloured particle flame for normal lava.
New hi-res clouds. WIll continue to edit these in the future for more variation.
New round hole stonebrick texture for those like me who like to build in creative. This may change considerably when I find out what the purpose of this new block is.
Two new temporary sandstone blocks which will be edited when they become functional and when I know for sure where in the Minecraft world they are found.
3 new randommob slimes by _Greanleaf_ - slime2*, slime3*, slime4* and slime5*which is a simple brass colour variation of _Greanleaf_'s slime3* I couldn't resist making.
New alternative textures (on alt sheet 5). Should be a lot more to follow for you mod enthusiasts to get to work.
Edited cobble and mossy cobble for better tiling.
Darkened sand slightly.
* partially, mostly or completely derived from my textures.
As per usual, anyone bothering to read the latest posts in my thread...usually regulars, get first try of the latest version while I update my OP.
Have fun with the Iron Golem. I have lots of them for company around my city and even though I play on creative, I definately feel a lot safer!
Can you use a different download site its not letting me download it.
PS: love the texture and do you have a alt for cobble something with more depth?
Jess, try the new update v4 download above and now in my OP and make sure to click on 'Download file now' and not 'Click here'. If you're still having problems I'll put the updates on my RapidShare site. I've been having problems with MediaFire recently, but also I've been having problems with my own ISP which might have been effecting MediaFire, so when I get a chance I will try that out again.
As regards the alt cobble. Check in my OP under the heading '600+ Alt 32x Textures by Glimmar'. You might find something there with more depth. On the scale I build, I find that cobble with too much depth or contrast tiles, patterns and moires the heck out of things hence the softness of my current cobble. I've just done some more variations on alt sheet 5 in the section just mentioned. Check those out.
Glad you like the pack though.
Now I have to get some sleep for an early start tomorrow, but will do my best to catch up on the rest of the posts above, sorry guys.
Oh, and the OP is now updated with the latest version.
Looks good. Downloading it now to try it out. One minor problem (for me, at least)… I just threw together a sheet for the Nether Ores mod… using the old nether texture. I'll have to see how much of a difference there is, hopefully it'll just be a simple fix.
Speaking of which, I made a sheet for the Nether Ores mod, as well as a stand-in item sheet for Buildcraft. I'll try to update the ores to match the new Netherrack and finish up the items so I can upload an updated mod compilation. If any other re-texturizers have anything new to share, try to get it to me in the next day or so. I'll be away from the internet from Thursday through Sunday, so if you could get it to me before then, that'd be great.
EDIT: Also, it looks like the IC2 block sheet has some odd noise on it. I'll probably go in and try to fix it, but that may require starting with a fresh sheet… One more thing to do, I guess.
It's not a good idea to use a site that forces people to create an account just to download a single file. :/ I was going to download it, but now... sorry. I suggest MediaFire or some other site.
I clicked "Download Now" and I got this:
That's right folks, you can't just download it.
Sure you can. Click the big blue button that says 'download now' with the words 'no virus detected' beneath it.
It seems like 4Shared has changed their policy… either that or it requires accounts for files larger than a certain size.
As to the suggestion of Red_Wesley, Glimmar usually uses MediaFire, but he's had some reports of it acting up for some users recently, which has prompted him to use 4Shared instead. I believe he mentioned uploading it to MediaFire shortly, once his ISP starts giving him reliable service again.

Hey Glimmar, how do you have 64x water in a 32x texture pack without it scaling down to 32x. I put your water into John Smith's Texture Pack but it scaled down and didn't look as good.

Try increasing the size of the other elements of the pack, namely the terrain and items sheets, to double size. I'm fairly certain that this is how Glim gets away with it, but you need to be careful if you're using Optifine… You may have to increase the dimensions of ALL the sheets, including any animated textures. Otherwise it may result in slightly blurry items.
Sorry for the problems with 4shared! I had no idea it would require membership for a simple download. I would be just as put as you, but as a member I wasn't aware it would behave that way for non-members.
Try my RapidShare downloads instead, whilst I try to get to the bottom of my MediaFire problems:
I've tested these links after signing out of RapidShare and there doesn't seem to be a problem, but I would be grateful if someone else could confirm they are ok, thanks.
I'm just updating the OP.
[edit] OP now updated.
I'm open to suggestions for alternative file-sharing sites, but until MediaFire get back to me I still can't use it. It's been fine and dandy for 2 years, then last weekend I couldn't reliably access my files or upload anything!
Anyone familiar with 4Share? Perhaps I've goofed on some file privacy setting that only makes it available to 4Shared members, but I can't as yet see. Any help, as ever is much appreciated.
WOW! its been a while and im sorry ive been doing a lot of stuff and havent had time to post on here or finish the computers for computercraft.
I looked on this topic today and saw that none of has started it, so i decided to start myself (which I said I would anyway), but I finished toe main computer, the wireless thing(forgot name to most of these), floppy disk, and disk drive.
The three of them together
The computer on with the floppy disk( textured as a circuit board)
Im going to finish the turtle, and then to the gui's, tell me what you think and if it needs inproving

Apparently Misas Realistic Pack adds blinking for cows, cats, wolves, etc. So im pretty sure you can.

No, that is not the file. That's just a program from the host site that "helps" you download it… pointless if you ask me.
