I really like your texture pack(s) however it now takes well over 15 minutes to load your thread and i know my computer isn't that slow. Perhaps you might think about putting the images in a spoiler or something. Just a suggestion...it's your thread so you may do what you want but the slow load rate most likely will deter people from coming to your page thats all. Still your textures are bomb. THANKS!
Glad you like the pack, SmurfChisholm.
You are absolutely right about the bloat of pics and it will be dealt with soon. My machine is fairly powerful, but I get the slow load too. It's just a case of putting off what most of us hate doing...tidying up! So I guess I've got my project for the week.
Just wanted to take a moment to express how much my family and I enjoy your texture pack. In fact, just recently my husband and I were talking about fleshing out your wonderful work so that it covered a few of the mods we are using...Pam's Earthcraft is but one of them. And while I was working on textures for Pam's Earthcraft my family requested I redo your ores on the base terrain file as well...so that all the ores were updated.
So I did.
Once finished my family wanted me to contact you with the new ore textures, thinking you would be interested in them. I also took the liberty of doing Red Power's world.png.
If this is something you would be interested in seeing, please feel free to send me a PM and I will pass my email along to you so that the textures find thier way into your hands.

Many thanks indeed for taking the time to post here, Lady Eternity and Proudfoot. It's encouraging the whole family is having fun using the pack!
Yes, I would be very interested to see what you've done for Earthcraft and Redpower and will PM you about them.
I'm keen to see as many applicable mods covered for my pack. especially with the planned modding api on the horizon. I am very grateful for everyone's help in this regard, as there is no way I have the time to test, texture and update material for all of those wonderful mods out there.
Somehow in revitalising and condensing my OP I will need to have a more obvious mod section, but I really need as much help and advice as possible from interested members to develop this, especially if I'm to keep up to date with the basic pack and not get bogged down with editing words rather than textures.
Ksheep and others have been doing a great job this past couple of weeks, and I need to catch up on their work. Any completed mod texture support needs to be packaged up together with some clear explanation on how they are to be installed, because I won't be able to test them all out myself, nor write instructions on how to use them. I'm hoping ksheep will still be able to cover this area for me, as he knows far more about the modding side of things than I.
I will of course keep uploading any alt textures I churn out and these might be of use for mod support for my pack.
Once again many thanks for your comment here, and in offering support for the above mentioned mods.

Just thought I should check in with you. Unfortunately I had less time that I thought I would to work on the mod side of things this break, as I've been without internet for most of it. To top it all off, classes are starting back up again tomorrow, so I'm not sure how much free time I'll have to work on it, but I can probably throw something together today, cobbled together from what I've got done so far, as well as what others have posted in the past few days.
Speaking of posting it, I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to do this. I see three possibilities:
1: Post the images here on the board via an image hosting site, which may require renaming before it works,
2: Creating a folder with all the requisite formatting and uploading it to a file-sharing site myself (which makes it more difficult for you to edit), or
3: As number 2, but emailing it to you so you can host it with the rest of your stuff, or directly incorporate it into the main download (more work on your part).

Which do you think would be best for this setup?
Yeh! Real life is continuing to consume more of my time also, so I know where you're coming from.
I'm happy with all 3 suggestions. I'm not too fussed about having direct access for editing purposes. I'll just download like anyone else from your file-sharing site if I felt I had the time to edit something and then post the changes back to you. If you decided to email the mod re-textures to me or post them here, would you be able to provide suitable instructions for installation and clear credit for each mod if not already supplied? I'm more concerned that everyone is credited for the work they've done, and (because of my steadfast ignorance on most of the popular mods) that folk have clear instructions on how to use them.
On reflection, I'd like to keep it as simple as possible in the OP, ideally with a heading and spoiler for each steampunk mod supported, along with an individual link, graphic, instructions and credit inside the spoiler. So I guess there's no escaping the fact that I will have to assemble the mod support section myself in the OP for visitor ease of use, but I would need yourself and others to keep me posted, pm'd with the relevant material, link, texture image, etc to make updating as straightforward as possible. Something I could just copy into the OP along the following format:
1. Mod title spoiler
2. Link to the actual mod.
3. Link to the steampunk texture file or the actual image.
4. Instructions on use/installation. Other relevant info.
5. Credit list of those involved in editing/creating the steampunk textures for the mod. Perhaps with a link to the main author/editor of the steampunk texture, so that users can ask for support. /spoiler
Obviously, anyone contributing would have to understand about only using my textures or their own original art, along similar styles (no borrowing from other packs, etc), or it wouldn't be possible to include it in the OP.
Ideally it would be great if you were able to gather any material together, re-organise (to the above format) and check it out if necessary and post/PM me the finished entry. It's a big ask, but it would make it possible to put together a small library of mods that could be updated individually as and when possible and added to relatively quickly.
Perhaps it might be easier to put all mods into the format outlined above, but just include the whole lot in one download, or have both systems available - individual downloads and one big download. ?!
I'm not very good at organisation, as you can well appreciate from the above, so feel free to pick up on anything I've missed in my ramblings.
You would of course be properly credited for all this effort, sheep and folk would just have to understand RL commitments.
just saw More Steampunk Mod Textures? it made my day, i clicked the spoiler but nothing happens. please fix it please, i love your texture pack but ic2 and buildcraft looks so out og place (and lets face it they are a real opertunity for steampunk textures! )
I think I see the problem with that spoiler. There is an open Bold tag, but no close bold. At the moment, all that is says is as follows:
Quote from Glimmar »
There are so many mods I would love to support for users of this texture pack, but I have to be realistic and admit I just don't have the time. If anyone would like to apply any of my textures to any applicable mods, just give me a shout first.
However, a few fans of the pack are currently hard at work making replacement textures for some of the mods. I have been working on Buildcraft, and have finished most of the blocks (see previous pages), but have yet to work on the items or GUI's, and there have been several people working on and off on IndustrialCraft2.
I have been asked to compile any completed mods and post them here, and I will start work on this shortly, getting what I have finished up first (all WIP at the moment) as well as compiling whatever work has been done by others. Also, if you look back a couple days, I posted what I had so far for Buildcraft, but I will try to make installation a bit easier with the compilation.
i had seen a ic2 one once but it was just a png file, no idea where it was ment to go ( i did try putting it in the texture folder)
im in the process at mo of trying to figure out how to get audio mod to play the underwater sound loop u provided and music lol (when its server stuff no problem, configure plugins..easy...install mods no probs, make minecraft do simple things like play different audio...and i fall apart lol)
I think I figured out how to get the IC2 stuff to work. In the texture pack folder, create a folder named "ic2", then one named "sprites". Place the new textures in here, and make sure they are named correctly, as follows:
block_0.png for general blocks
block_cable.png for cables
block_electric.png for transformers and electricity storage blocks
block_generator.png for various generators
block_machine.png for main set of machines
block_machine2.png for remaining machines (tesla coil and teleporter)
item_0.png for items
There are several others (aka all of the GUIs, a couple other blocks, and various unused sheets), but this should get most things running.
Could someone make textures for Neph's Missing Blocks Mod (link) and w3(r4ft's Laser Mod (link) that goes with this pack? I know that Glimmar doesn't have as much free time as he'd like to, but I also know that there are some good Texture Artists here that could do it. If not, I can live with it, but it would be awesome if someone will make it.
There are just 3 blocks for the first mod and I guess 2 blocks and about 5 items for the laser one. I think many people would be grateful, because as far as I know, there are not many textures for these mods.
Funny you should mention the Missing Blocks Mod. Another user created some textures for those just the other day. Here's what he posted:

I have modified the rubber tree textures in block_0.png if you want them also made some other changes before I realized that those textures weren't being used anymore.

Looks good! I'm currently using d95's version of block_0 as a baseline (as it has modified generators and nuclear reactors (not sure if it uses block_0 or block_generator for those), figured might as well use that as a starting point) If you've made different generators, feel free to post them, I'll include both for some variety of choice.
EDIT: I see you've also slightly modified the copper ore provided by o1ofco2. I'll probably use yours, as it is slightly more differentiable from the iron ore.I forgot to add it to the below file. I'll probably add it in a later version.
Further Edit (Important!):
Here's a download link to the mod compilation as it stands now.
Contents and Credits: RedPower2 Lighting: Textures by Glimmar, edited by Ksheep. WeaponMod: Textures by Tlos, edited by Ksheep. IndustrialCraft2: o1ofco2, d95, CuZnDragon, Glimmar, compiled by Ksheep. BuildCraft: Textures by Glimmar, edited by Ksheep. Railcraft: Textures by Glimmar, edited by Ksheep. Zeppelin: Dazqo and nerdboy64.

NOTE: There are some errors in the credit list in the download (misspellings and misattribution of edits (edit not included in download)).
There are a couple other mod retextures that I forgot to add to this compilation, but I'll try to include them in the next version. If anyone else has retextures they'd like added to this, please send them my way and I'll be sure to add them in. Also, Glimmar, feel free to add this to the OP. I'll try to update it on a semi-regular basis whenever anything new is submitted (and whenever I finish up those parts I'm working on).
Also, if the creators of any of these retextures don't want their work in this compilation, please let me know and I'll take it down. This is mainly a means of convenience for those looking for mod support, but I'll fully understand if you don't want someone else fiddling with your work.
Decided to look back through the last few pages to make sure I got everything, and I realized that I forgot the IC2 items! I'll try to add those in to the next version. Also, if those working on stuff has anything that they'd like added, please get it to me. I believe that _Greenleaf_ was working on RedPower, d95 on IC2, and Dazqo was looking into working on the Portal mod. I'm wanting to say there were a few other people working on stuff, but I cannot recall.
Furthermore, it turns out that the Æther Mod retexture download is now no longer available. Is there any chance to get that back up? If it would be more convenient, I could add it to the compilation. I believe that Torturran had originally posted it, and I think I saw him on here a couple days ago.
Glimmer hasn't gotten around to the Ender Dragon yet. He is planing on working on it at some point, but he has various time constraints due to real life, and what little time he does have to texture, he uses to work on whatever project interests him (usually block textures for his buildings).
I lost internet access completely yesterday from early evening to this morning. I think I've narrowed it down to my old router, but we were all under the impression that our provider was having problems. Seems to be ok now though.
I used the time to sort out my OP a bit, as I felt it would have been silly to upload a new update in the midst of a chaotic OP. The new forum changes somehow had spattered literally hundreds of bold and italic codes all over the place and trying to track them all down was a nightmare! Everything should be get-at-able now, with less pics outside of spoilers...so it should load quicker.
So my humble apologies for not uploading the promised update with the iron golem this weekend. I shall get right back onto that and it will be up just as soon as everything is converted and checked over.
I downloaded the pack and patched my .jar but my snow texture and login textures are missing. The missing snow texture is particularly disabling because you cant see anything through it. There could be more textures that are missing that I haven't discovered yet. If I get a reply on this, maybe I will go through and find an.y other missing textures.
Please Help!

That's… odd. I'd suggest re-downloading the pack and repatching it with the latest version of the MCPatcher. If it's still acting up, let us know and we'll look into it. My guess is something happened when downloading the file.
Give him a couple days to upload the updated pack. Sounds like he's having internet issues. However, I'm sure he'll let us know as soon as the new pack is ready.

I did this, several times in fact. It loaded fine on my laptop, which I downloaded, in my excitement over your texture pack, only an hour after I downloaded it on my desktop. I can unpack the file and see if the texture is there at all and get back to you.
PS thank you for responding, I was doubtful I would find help.
A little while later...
I unpacked it and found both the snow texture file and the "mojang" load file. I un-patched and re-patched and it still wouldn't load the textures. I re-downloaded the texture pack and thee missing snow texture is as annoying as always. Sorry, ignore below link (me trying to add a photo).
Can mob textures be animated? If so something like a burning furnace on the Golem would be amazing. Can mob textures be animated? If so something like a burning furnace on the Golem would be amazing.
Sorry if this double posts, the page was acting up.
