Could you please refresh my memory on how to post pictures? I would like to show my airship.
Upload the image to an image hosting site, such as photobucket or imageshack, and post the url of the image in an [img] tag. There will usually be a tag on the image hosting site that you can copy and paste.
close to 400 pages an that jest show how cool you are glimmer.
Wouldn't have been anywhere near as many pages if there weren't so many good friends popping in and showing interest and support.
Also, I've always appreciated how civilised you lot have been over the past 18 months, it's been a pleasure making new things and seeing what you've created with them.
Here's to another 400 yea... I mean pages! [raises his pint mug of tea]
Can't see any easy way to remove posts… but I did find out how to switch off the "show pictures during editing" mode. Upper left corner is a lightswitch button labeled "Toggle Editing Mode". Hit that and it should fix that.
Ooo! That's worth a Mr ksheep. And lot easier when wizzing up and down my OP.
That does look like an interesting feature. Hard to decide between MCPatcher and Optifine now… and I bet this is just as big of a problem for Glimmar. Hard to keep up with normal updates and MCPatcher without throwing Optifine changes into the mix as well.
Especially when I still prefer MC Patcher because it keeps up with things like the snapshot updates. If anyone can poke me in the face with what needs changing for 'Connected Textures' I'll take a look at it.
EDIT: Started work on the High Speed Rail for Railcraft. Thoughts?
Top: High Speed Rail
Middle: Powered High Speed Booster
Bottom: Unpowered High Speed Booster
Still haven't added the curved rail, as that'll be a bit more of a challenge. Will probably require some drastic retexturing, if not new textures from scratch.
Hehe! Nice to see those little sensors being used.
The port of your steampunk texturepack is now avaliable on my pocket edition texturepack thread. Link's and credits included.
Here is a link to the topic: Pocket Edition Texturepack Ports
Ooo! That was very quick work, mate!
I shall pop over and see about putting a link in my OP. I've no excuse not to try out the pocket edition for myself now.
[edit] I checked it out and you've done a great job! Well done...seems to have ported very well.
nearly 400 pages?
this calls for celebrating!
*thorws confetti at random places*
Lol!
Who's sweeping all that confetti up? Never mind I'll get my personal creeperbot on the job...please, just nobody move 'till he's done!!
It would have been nice if I could have had my next update ready for the 400th page by way of a little celebratory gift. I will of course motor on with it, but I'm going to be offline for the next few days, some travelling to do, so I'm not sure how far I'll get with that target.
Once again though, many, many thanks for all your support folks...I'm glad to be a small 'cog' (see what I did there ) in the big machine that is Minecraft.
WOO! Almost at 400 pages! And it looks like I'm at 500 posts. What a crazy random happenstance!
Anyway, got some High Speed Transition Rails up and running now. Haven't tested them yet in game (same with the other high speed rail), but I'll try it out this afternoon and post pics of how it looks.

Now you just need something with 600 in it and your on the way to a 'straight flush'!
High Speed Transition Rails are looking good!
Seeing all this mod activity gets me wanting to have another 'alt' textures session again, but any remaining time before being away better be spent on an update. ...must not do alts ...must not do alts ...must not do alts!
I just had a thought for an alternate set of High Speed rail. Instead of having a pair of rails, have a single central rail, reminiscent of MagLev trains. Could probably just reuse the Redstone alt I've been using for the high-speed rail, just lit up when accelerating. Can make the transition rails transition between the single rail MagLev and the dual rail tracked rail…
I shall have to experiment with this after class.
Because I don't feel like looking through pages I wanted to know if or when you think the Iron Golem texture would be up.
Thanks, your pack is the only one I use.

Here's the pics I promised! New high-speed rail, new wooden booster track, fixed wooden switches, and… concrete block (nothing too exciting with that last bit).
EDIT: Forgot to add pics of the fixed normal switches. Basically the same as the wooden ones, added the piston pushing the switch rail and added a cross-tie on the side.
Especially when I still prefer MC Patcher because it keeps up with things like the snapshot updates. If anyone can poke me in the face with what needs changing for 'Connected Textures' I'll take a look at it.
you 'just' have to throw a ctm.png into your .zip based off of
with
being the default example.
now, I don't think the chests are still being used, and I can't work out why there are so many glass tiles there, so maybe someone else can help with that

Glimmar is currently working on this. However, he will be traveling over the next couple days and is not sure if he can get an update before he leaves. As such, it may be a while before it is released.
In other news, I tend to recall that someone was asking how to add mod textures into the texture pack. I finally found out how. Below are instructions for a few of them that I have been working on. For all of them, recompress the file after you're done and place the new .zip file into the texture pack folder.
Railcraft: In the main texture pack folder, make a new folder named "textures" and place any relevant .png files there.
Buildcraft: In the main texture pack folder, make the following folder tree: /net/minecraft/src/buildcraft/. From here, make folders for each component of Buildcraft you have installed (core, transport, etc), and make a folder named gui inside each of these. Place textures for the relevant components in these folders.
WeaponMod: inside the gui folder, create a folder named weaponmod and add the .png files there.
For others, I'd say open up the .zip file for the mod in question, find where the images are held, and recreate the folder hierarchy of that in the texture pack folder.
Wasted an entire evening trying to make some meaningful edits to my OP only to find it constantly getting garbled or refusing to load. Gah! I gave up in the end. I think I'm going to have to start completely from scratch and really shorten and simplify the layout. Please don't let them change the forums again.

Congratulationns on 400 pages Glimmar!
I do feel this is the way you conduct yourself. You always seem yourself to your 'fans' with utmost transparency, gentle humour and even when you have troubles it doesn't affect your attitude on this thread, and others. For me, personally, it's an absolute pleasure to post on your thread. I would liken it to chatting about the most trivial things with people you trust around a warm gentle fire.
3 cheers for the wonderful and bright Glimmar I say!
P.S. I have to say, having 'steamy' tagged gets a quiet chuckle out of me every time.
And you're a perfect example of how civilised most of my visitors are around here.
Thanks mate, I appreciate the support...and I'll put the kettle on next time you pop in...you know...just to make it extra steamy!
Because I don't feel like looking through pages I wanted to know if or when you think the Iron Golem texture would be up.
Thanks, your pack is the only one I use.
I'll be finishing it as soon as I can, but definitely not before my trip now. This week has just been very frustrating both on and off the forum. Trying to figure my OP, trying to get stuff together for a Planet Minecraft submission and chasing rogues down there, and trying to update stuff for the old 'Texture Pack Centra'l and finding it seems to have died and risen again in the form of the 'New Texture Pack Central'.
So not much progress with that Iron Gollum. But as soon as I can, Kalen, honest!

Oooo! Wow! That looks a bit confusing, but I think I can see what it's doing.
I'll not be able to do anything until I come back and not until I finish my IronGollum and update. Without looking at it in detail, is it possible with my type of glass texture? Has John Smith's pack got something compatible, and does it work ok. If it works with his glass, I know it will work with mine.
Thanks for the pic, Demi-Person. It saves me a trip out.
There was 1 thing i thought looked cool about your texturepack glimmar and i would say it was the powered rails, as i like the animation on those becuase it actually shows them like a proper mechanical movement waiting to excell the force of the minecart across the track.
It was designed right from the start to look like the cogs go from a resting state to a spinning state, and it's nice the original static texture worked so well when it was possible to add real animation.
I would, and I replied in your thread, Gamex101. Not getting out much, I would have been completely unaware if you hadn't visited. Many thanks for letting me know.
See you later, folks. Keep the place busy while I'm away.

I just checked, and yes, John Smith's pack has a ctm.png, that works just fine with his 32x32 glass (he even just left the chest out entirely)
I'm not sure how you'd modify your glass, since it already seems to be designed to tile just fine in large groups.
Don't worry about it, and take your time, I know how busy you are, and how long it can take you to update your pack for Minecraft and MCPatcher updates,
Thought I'd pop in and congratulate you on 400 pages. I honestly don't think I would recognize vanilla minecraft after having your pack so long. They just "feel" right.
Also, looking forward to what you have in store for the iron golems. So many possibilities within a steampunk theme for an iron golem of all things. I can understand why it might take a while. No rush, just take as much time as you feel necessary.
You can always swap it out with one of the many alternate textures. There are currently 4 full sheets of alternates, and a 5th is being worked on. Just find a texture that you like and copy it over to the texture sheet using a photo editor that allows for transparencies (ie. Photoshop or GIMP).
I haven't been on the forums for a while, and I realized I never replied to your comment on my texture pack.
I'm really glad you did comment, considering Rexcraft was first inspired by seeing your Steampunk pack,
explainnig the greenish torches.
Thanks for all the inspiration,
Rex
