Ive been working on the slimes, Im sending the files through a zip on media fire to make sure for safe travels and there is too many slimes. I tried the transparency on the mechanical slimes and the best one that came out of it was this,
Personally I don't like the transparency in the mechanical slimes.
Here is the zip for the slimes, this should eliminate any problems I had before with the transparency in the first slime. It has a lighter version of the 2nd mechanical slime, hopefully to your liking. I even included the mechanical slime that had the transparency, if you would like to work on it or do something with it.
Hey, the forums are working again! And I agree, change can be annoying, especially when they mess with the forums.
As for what Sythax said about Technic Pack, I've picked it back up again and was thinking of trying to modify a few textures for that (wait, hadn't I promised to do this before?). This time, I may actually get around to doing something. Main thing I was going to focus on was the RailCraft stuff, as it adds a fair bit of new rail stuff which looks rather interesting. Hopefully I can do something about it this weekend. Can't promise that it'll look all that good, but it may suffice.

Hah! I'm just showing my age, is all! Lol! I even complain when they change Minecraft these days.
Anything you do will be a real bonus and don't feel guilty about any false starts. Blimey, how many times do I keep saying I'll go through the thread and gather up all the stuff folk kindly share as alts and mod compliments to the texture pack. I'm the world's worst.
Well you should put the link for your download through mediafire, it may not be much but it could help
and cant wait to see your iron golem, and Working on the crocodile and croc armor as I type this message
also Im working on something animated for the pack if I ever finish it and find out the item id for it
If I keep losing RL business at the rate I am, I may very well have to put something up here as a virtual tin cup. Heck...if there's a corner somewhere I'll even start singing...although, that particular idea would definitely be counter productive! It might be necessary at some point to have a donation or optional adFly button, if only to pacify my wife over the countless hours I've put into the pack.
Well, enough about my woes. Is the crocodile and armor part of 'mo's creatures' or have I missed yet another new thing in the 1.2 update?!
I look forward to seeing what the item animation is.
Hey, looks like the topic is displaying correctly again! Awesome texture pack, man. I'll have to give this a try.
Many thanks, MisterFiber. Much appreciate your comment and have fun
Now, if you'll forgive me folks I'm just having a bit of a break from 'iron golluming' and instead trying to finish off my steampunk brick skyscraper for a possible little flyby movie, despite some real vertigo-like moments flying around in creative. Just re-stoking my creative boiler so to speak. Despite the downturn in work, it's still been a busy week ferrying family around, and too many late nights doth not a happy artist make.
Terribly sorry to be bothering you with this but it appears to be doing the same thing... as previously mentioned in my last post. :\ Just letting you know. it somewhat works on singleplayer but still the same trouble with multiplayer. I shall look further into this when i have time and let you know if anything specific comes up. But with all that aside, I was quite amazed at how you were able to get it compatible with 1.2 so quickly! Looking better than ever!
It doesn't I'm afraid...at the moment. My son has offered at some point (once his exams are over) to work along with me to try to produce a 16x version, but I can't say exactly when that will be. And not an easy task either, bearing in mind how much fiddly detail a theme pack like this contains, especially things like mobs and gui menus. I have considerable respect for creators of 16x packs and their ability to capture the essence of a particular block with so few pixels.

You are not in the slightest being bothersome, MechanicalTophat. You're having a frustrating time of it and I'm just sad I can't suggest a simple solution. There seems to be some incompatibility between my pack and your setup and it would be nice to get to the bottom of it for you and as a possible remedy for others to apply.
Might I suggest you rename a copy of the pack for test purposes and then try stripping various parts of that test pack out and see how that effects things. You can't do any harm to your version of Minecraft and anything you peel away from my pack will just be replaced by Minecraft's default textures. It might turn something up by a simple process of elimination.
Another useful thing for others to see and offer suggestions might be a list of what mods, if any, you have installed and version numbers of everything your using...including, MC Patcher, Minecraft, etc. Just to rule out the obvious that we all miss from time to time. I use a PC and I'm completely unaware of any problems that might occur for users of Macs. Neither have I any experience of problems arising from the multiplayer side of things.
It does not help in the slightest I know, but 1.2 continues to work perfectly well for me with my latest update and with the latest version of MC Patcher and the only other mod I use at present, which is 'TooManyItems'.
Best of luck, mate, and I only hope you feel the effort of trying to solve the problem is worth it in the end for my pack.
After seeing your new UI for the potion brewing, I've just realised the other UIs look a bit messy.
Especially the inventory one.
Are you going to redo the other UIs in the same style as the potion brewing one?
It'll match with the menu buttons and the hotbar.
Also I never mentioned this before but I'm loving the different colours for each moon phase.
I was particularly pleased with the way the moon phases turned out, but I did put a lot of work into them to satisfy my sci-fi urges.
As regards the other menus...absolutely. It has always been my intention to replace all those that were kindly donated to the pack with my own, and although I get most fun out building and getting the terrain blocks how I like them, I'm very concious now of how difficult it is to see some items in the old guis. It'll be a slow process though.
My problem is that only playing in creative, the old menus don't constantly hit me in the face like they will for those playing in survival.
[edit] By the way...there will be high res clouds in the next update. Just finished experimenting.

Also i'm having some troubles with the animation so it might be a while before I show it to you.

Fairly certain that Croc armor is from one of the mods, probably Mo' Creatures. Glimmar was trying to figure out if it was part of Vanilla Minecraft or one of the mods of the Technic pack.

It is Im doing the mo' creatures mod for this pack, sorry for the confusion
OMG, I leave for awhile and come back to some freakin spectular stuff. MC1.2 has FINALLY raised the sky limit(can I get an AMEN brothers and sisters?!) and Glimmar has improved on a texture pack that I thought was at it's pinnacle way back in the 1.x days.
Hats off old friend and I hope you and yours are doing better?
To my other online friends...Hola mi amigos!
G-man, sorry to hear life's being difficult for you, hang in there!
After a quick search through the thread, came up with a couple starts toward retexturizing IndustrialCraft and the Zeppelin mod, thought I'd repost them here for ease of collecting later. Unfortunately, didn't see any textures for RedPower, Buildcraft, or Railcraft. Anyway, hope this helps those looking for alternates.
Also, I was sick of the default Zeppelin textures in my otherwise steampunk-looking world, so I used the alts to make textures for the Zeppelin mod. Nothing special, just some of Glimmar's alts pasted into correctly-named images for the convenience of the less-technically-talented of us. I take no credit for either the mod or the images.
To install, just unzip it and drag the folder called "Zeppelin" into the texture pack.
Download
If this is somehow against the rules, I can always take it down. Just figured I'd share it within this thread.

It's so cool, to have old friends popping back in! I feel like putting the kettle on and dusting down the biscuit tin. Haha!
It's really good to see you, mate.
It's funny, but when I first heard of the height increase, I immediately thought - Pipehead!
Yes, 1.2 is a wonderful update, and so far there seems to be a lot of attention on the iron gollum and jungle stuff, but the really fantastic thing about it for me is the doubling of the world height. It just increases the 'awe' factor of builds exponentially. Eventually it will be possible to have many more block types in the standard game, or so I believe. I think I'm right in saying it's been written into the 1.2 update, but not yet implemented.
Speaking of world height. Here's what I've got to so far with my Steampunk Hotel. I keep disappearing inside to work on ideas for the interior or it might have been a lot higher:
Incidentally the two chimneys in the background represent the old height limit, and I'm no where near the new limit with my Steampunk Hotel!
I am expecting great things from everyone over the coming months, and especially from you, Pipehead.
Hope you like all the new stuff.
I will be updating as soon as I can to add hi-res clouds, the new stone brick block and the iron gollum. I still can't figure what's goin' on with the new sandstone blocks. I take it they are there but not active yet...am I right? Can anyone confirm?
Man I wish they added crocs. That would be cool in the jungle biomes.
I'd prefer some random birds, fishes or insects and definitely wind, cart and night sounds, all as standard. Perhaps a simpler method of dropping atmospheric sound files into a folder that was subdivided into different biomes, both day and night.

Awesome work, mate!
As mentioned previously, with so much still to texture for in the main pack, it's not the most incentive filled task for someone like me who doesn't get much chance to try mods out. Many thanks for that, ksheep. I remember someone did some textures for the clay soldiers mod too.
After checking the wiki and also going through creative, the new stone brick can only be found in creative and the sandstone textures aren't currently used.
I'd suggest leaving things like this to the very last if you still want to make them.
Thanks, mate.
I suspected as much, and will just put some alt stand-in textures for the sandstone for now, in-case they do a quick update when I'm away and until we know how Jeb is going to apply them in game. However, I have made a texture for the new stone brick which I can always edit accordingly when we understand it's purpose.
I've also been fiddling with the green gaslamp and particles and, as others have discovered before me, I've found it's possible to improve on a number of things by simply deleting one of the 'flame' particles. Now it should be possible to have orange particle flames popping out of the lava, steam/smoke alone coming out of the furnace and green gaslamps without orange flames. Little things really can make a difference!

I'm sorry I haven't been here recently, (I was in Turkey, this forum stopped sending me email reminders (again) and I have too much homework...) but I managed to finish my snow pegasus skin for the clay soldier mod... and some other stuff...

Curse PremiumAwesome vid, Chrisman.
Sorry it took so long to reply. With all the updates and forum fuss, etc. I'm having to go back through again to see what I missed.
I need to get that vid up in my OP!
Wow! I'm having to get used to all these forum changes again. I hate change!
Many thanks, Greenleaf. I will check these over as soon as I get a chance.
I'm a little snowed under with the forum changes and the official 1.2 Minecraft update.
My iron golem is nowhere near ready folks...yet, sorry!

Curse PremiumYep! Didn't realize until last night, that the official 1.2 release threw in some extra blocks at the last minute.
I shall get something out as quick as I can, even if the iron golem isn't part of my next quick update.
