Just a quicky to say thanks for the posts above. I will read 'em as soon as I can (though I did spot the Optifine solution...many thanks Flobulon...and I'll change the color.properties in the next pack), but I'm just posting to reassure you all that I've got my head down working on a few new things besides the 'languages' and 'mob spawner egg' icons and they are all kind of interlinked - a couple of knew hi-res gui's, which might also need their lower res counterparts making to keep everyone tootling along, hence the 'ready when it's ready' scenario. Also, as per usual, RL stuff does seem to have a habit of decending on me whenever there's an update. :ohmy.gif:
When I've been away for a while, I'm always surprised to find the thread has some new posts in it, and a quick glance at the comments seem to indicate it's still being put to good use, which of course is very encouraging.
I'll try and make the wait worthwile.
Busy as can be.
Sounds, great, Glimmar! We, your trustworthy fans, shall be awaiting!
Hey, Glimmar, what about making iron armor like this one? ))
i'll try to draw rifle like that, but not shure i'll success
I'm quiet sure Glimmar is already satisfied with his Crossbow, but the armor would look cool in Minecraft. And it would be quite easier to do since this is 32x32 textures.

I'm making my own texture pack Frankenstein, it's a mix of some texture packs with my editions, i use there an amimated pistol instead of bow, and trying to make a rifle now.
Armor textures are not x32, they are x64) i've asked author of mcpatcher, he said the armor textures separated from terrain and items, so this textures can be bigger and will not scale others, the same with the paintings

I want to try to make a rifle like that(since you showed it to me),but it wont be a normal rifle.
the rifle will be a MINING LASERv for ic2
BTW, good luck with your texturepack,i failed with mine(i failed at making terrain textures).
the ic2 extras pack is easy to make since its based on glimmars textures and its going to be a part of the extras(hopefully).
I have this problem where if I download a mod and use the steam punk mod for it it will revert it to the old one (before MC pacher) and if I go to get the patcher it turns off the mod. So how do I get the mod and the texture pack?

use the patcher can be used as a modinstaller(the texture fix is a mod) use the install mod feature and patch minecraft.
you will end up with the mod and the texture fix.
the jar file that you patched is a copy of the original that you had before you patched minecraft.
protip: download the patcher for the minecraft versjon you want to patch.
Uh... How are you supposed to use the alternative textures. I want to mix it up.
By the way, awesome pack :laugh.gif: :smile.gif:
To use the alternate textures, unzip the texture pack, open up the terrain sheet in an image editor that supports transparency (such as GIMP, Photoshop or Paint.net, but do NOT use MS Paint, it'll mess up the torches) and open the extras sheet you'd like to take from. Select the square with the rectangle selection tool (should be a 32x32 pixel square). I'd suggest zooming in to ensure accuracy. Then copy it and paste it in the terrain file, placing it over the texture you'd like to replace. Again, make sure it's positioned correctly. Then flatten image and save it as the same file format and rezip the contents of the folder, placing the newly zipped file in the Texture Pack folder.

wow.....! this will probably help people!
i used ms paint when i tried to make a texturepack(in 2010 when the texturepack competition was announced)
i didnt have enough time to write a long explanation.
I've been using this texture for a while, its very remarkable and resembles a lot of novels i read. i saw the alternative textures, are you planning on making a light and dark version of the texture like Doku and whatnot?

Curse Premiumhow to install:
go to the mods folder located in ".minecraft" and open the industrialcraft jar with 7zip or winrar and go here:
industrialcraft-2-client_1.43.jar\ic2\sprites - in your ZIP archive
drop block_0 and generator_0 there.
i will upload a zip archive soon with all my finished textures.(if i have some sparetime for the pack)
its hard to make completely new textures if you dont have experiance like me....
i use glimmars as a template and then i edit, copy and paste, recolor and more so it turns into a completely new texture based on glimmars textures.
things i cant do: make reflections, make things look like metal or gold[metals] and make random noise that make the block look normal.
i'll try to draw rifle like that, but not shure i'll success

good job ksheep
Flobulon found a fix for this on the previous page, and Glimmar is planing on implementing it in the next update.
