I had a question and I'm not sure if it belongs here or not so I'll apologize now If I've put this in the wrong place. I've tried downloading this pack and putting it in my texture pack folder but when I open the menu in minecraft I can't select the texture pack. I click on it and it switches back to default or one of the other packs I have. Is it something I've done or does this just happen on occasion? And is there any way to fix it?
Thank you for your time and I hope this wasn't a bother.
~Riverspell
P.S Very lovely texture pack you have here. =)
First question...did you install 'MC Patcher'?
If not, have a look in my original post on page 1 of this thread for details of where to get it and what to do with it.
From your question you indicate you've used other packs, so you may already be familiar with the Patcher. Can I ask what other packs you're using and do you have any other mods installed?
It's certainly not a problem I'm familiar with, Riverspell.
If I can help, I will and I'm glad you like my pack. :smile.gif:

One thought that pops to mind: Did you place the .zip file in the texture pack folder, or did you put the unzipped folder in? Also, if you unzipped it, modified it, and rezipped it, make sure the rezipped file is from the contents of the folder, not of the folder itself.

I can't get it to work. All other Texture Packs work. With this, it just sets to default. I have optifine installed.
Sorry you're having problems getting it to work, mate, and it's no help for me to say it works fine after uninstalling my Minecraft and re-installing everything...I've just checked again. I've never used Optifine, much prefering MC Patcher on it's own, so perhaps there's a conflict there, but really there shouldn't be...if you've followed the correct order for installing both that is.
Any additions made since my last update are quite innocuous and do nothing unless you tick the appropriate box in MC Patcher. Things like biome triangles, the 'color.properties' file and custom animations sit there doing nothing unless activated when you install MC Patcher afresh.
I'm at a loss to suggest what the problem may be, other than something not quite sitting right with the new MC Patcher and Optifine.
I have modloader, forge, too many items, and zie's farming installed. I didn't unzip the pack before I put it in the texture pack folder. I know not to do that much at least. lol I do also have Optifine installed since I use the yogbox and can't combine that with Mc patcher. Perhaps it's the Optifine? I see someone else is having the same problem.

Don't know what to tell you. Sounds like an Optifine problem to me. I'd suggest heading over to their thread and asking around there, they may have some answers.

I have modloader, modloader-mp, turbomod, rei-minimap, audio, slopes, more-painting-xtreme-edition, planes, and optifine and it works here.

It could be that...I couldn't really say, as I've never used Optifine. A quick look in the thread says it can be used with MC Patcher, after deleting some Optifine files, and MC Patcher says the same. Being an old-timer I've always used MC Patcher because I always saw it as the standard, works reliably and was always updated quickly after Minecraft updates...just what I need to keep working on the pack. Recent MC Patcher additions like animated blocks, items and custom colors have made it even more attractive. However, I think I need to set some time aside to look at Optifine too, as it also has some nice features I'd love to use in my own world.
As ksheep says, you might find something in the Optifine thread. If others are having the same experience, even if there aren't solutions, it gives peace of mind. Again I'm sorry the problem only seems to be occuring with my pack. :sad.gif:

Haha! But you have Optifine and my pack working fine. Just shows how frustrating these problems can be. Roll on Jeb's mod-api is all I can say.
CuZnDragon, is there any chance you could give me an uptodate link for the MorePaintings mod?I can't seem to keep up with who is updating it now, and I really must have a go with the slopes mod too some time. Have you seen this mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/473385-100-kaevator-wallpaper-mod-v12/'Kaevator Wallpaper mod' This was something I always wanted for Minecraft and having only just discovered, but doesn't look like it's been updated for a while. :sad.gif:
What sort of red? Are you looking for a pinkish red (like in Petra), a rust red, a sunset red, a brick red? Bright, dark, faded… lots of different reds to choose from…
I am looking for a red red almost blood like colored sand.
I'm working on a new title plate for the pack and the OP. Much work still to do on it yet, but it's up there in the OP now and also here to save you a click:
The same style will probably be used in a much needed gui overhaul. :smile.gif:
not only is the pack great, but you one of the few that with all that is going on you listen and apply feedback and even sometime just kick ideas around. That is not something we get here at the forums often so i just had to say something about.
Thanks again and cheers.

Everything has a beginning and an end. Life is just a cycle of starts and stops. There are ends we don't desire, but they're inevitable, we have to face them. It's what being human is all about.

Many thanks, sly. :smile.gif:
Well apart from there never being enough time in the day to do all the things I'd like to do, and especially with this pack, it doesn't cost much to be pleasant and brain storm. Although I think I have lots of good ideas, so do lots of other people around here who like the same sort of theme and I'm grateful for their ideas too. I'm not one for making polls, but I'm definately influenced over time by everyone's comments. Just so long as folk bear in mind I'm not slick and certainly not fast. :biggrin.gif:
Cheers for stopping by and giving encouragement...much appreciated.
Until I started using potions out of curiosity, I hadn't realized just how bad and annoying the low resolution particles are when the potion takes effect...literally can't see anything for the big blocky graphics floating infront of my face! :blink.gif:
Just working on that too now...and so taking a slightly more serious look at the 'alchemy' gui.
I'm working on a new title plate for the pack and the OP. Much work still to do on it yet, but it's up there in the OP now and also here to save you a click:

A bit like this?
What type of texture do you like...Smooth or rippled?
I think the particles used underwater along with those on the bedrock and mushroom biomes are also default.Basically 4 pixels above, to the left, to the right and below a single empty pixel.I think this pack also needs green lava alts for the hi-res lava textures and the lava drips.Nether bricks also look a bit 'meh'I know I'm suggesting a lot but I love this pack and always ready to suggest things :tongue.gif:
Yes, you are absolutely right. That small particle...the first tiny particle in the smoke animation is used for quite a few effects, as you describe. Those four big pixels have been bugging me no end recently whilst building my sub underwater.
You've set me thinking, after some investigation with some borrowed 64x particles, that all my particles would be better off as 64x, for this simple reason - most of the particles are seen up close (often right in your face) and so look more like 8x pixels than 32x and totally at odds with 32x blocks seen at an average distance. I'll finish off my current 32x edit to the particles and begin work on a 64x version for the HD pack. It won't be quick, as I tend to fiddle a lot on these little things. :biggrin.gif:
Good point about the lava and drips. Lava would be relatively easy, but I'm not sure there is a setting to change in MC Patcher for the lava...to be honest I haven't checked and don't want to get too far off the beaten track this weekend. A new title plate and new particle sheet will be quite enough for me for the next few days. Just keep reminding me. :smile.gif:
Actually this illustrates just how easy it is to get distracted. :tongue.gif:
What!!? You don't like my depressing Nether brick...my pretty shiney Edwardian industrial brick? Aaaaarrrrgh! :ohmy.gif:
Haha, in time I'll have a go at something else. Though I like making brick blocks, they can be a bit of a time hog to get the tiling spot on. The current nether bricks are, like most things I do, designed for mass building, but as yet I haven't built anything on a massive scale with them in the overworld, so I don't know how meh they might look. I stand accused, gov. I'm sure you understand that a lot of textures in the last half of 2011 were done in a bit of a stupor after all the little updates Notch/Jeb threw out. Not that I do anything perfectly when it's quiet. lol!
Glad you like the pack though and glad you prompted me about the particles. I'm actually looking forward to sorting that problem. :biggrin.gif:
Heh heh! Is that the one I've also featured in the new title at the top of my OP? There's a couple more if you have randomobs switched on in MC Patcher. My 'little creeper bot' is definately my favourite, and the fact that I loved Borderlands does not mean I was in anyway influenced by 'Claptrap'! :biggrin.gif: Little 'Creeperbot' has such sad looking eye...ah..I mean gauges.
If I get something worthy, I shall upload a custom terrain file for you. I'm intrigued to see what it might look like, especially with the new custom lighting. Speaking of which, if you stand around in the desert at the moment and wait for the sunset the sand already goes a bit blood red. :tongue.gif:
Watch this space...also watch RL throw a wobbler and spoil the fun!
