due to another sleepless night, i decided to play around with textures again so now i present the human looking villagers
*SNIP*
A few bits still look patchy as i literally just stretched the textures into place, but i quite like them, with the exception of the hideously blocky heads

The animated textures are really cool, but, erm, not all of them are working right! Redstone wire, repeaters, and brewing stands aren't really animating, they're just scrolling down repeatedly like lava or water. It's probably because MCPatcher isn't programmed to animated those textures properly, all the other blocks and items are working fine, and again, are REALLY COOL. someone should try making an animated Ghast fireball next! (Ghast fireballs appear in the items.png near the slimeball)
Is the following list correct for which mobs have not been made?
Cave Spider
Ender Dragon
Mooshroom
Silverfish
Blaze
Magma Cube
Snow Golem
I was thinking of taking a stab at one or more of these if I have any spare time. Also, I may modify the pig zombies a bit. The color of the metal just seems… off. Thinking more of a rusty iron or corroded copper motif.
I can see you've all been busy (love the villager edits, hatwhale. :biggrin.gif: ).
I'm still stuck with RL at the mo', but just wanted to say that I am about and will begin again on some more mobs and random mobs. I got all of about 10 mins on Skyrim and a free evening building in my world of Newglim, when it seemed everyone in the family and everyone who knows me wanted something urgent doing! :blink.gif:
Sorry for any mix-ups I may or may not be responsible for in the latest update...I haven't really read back past this page. At least there doesn't seem to be any hate-mail, so that's a good thing. :smile.gif:
Are you uploading to imgur and copy/pasting the text under "BBCode (message boards & forums)"?
I think the problem may be he was trying to just copy the page, not the image location. On the right, there is a "Embed this Image" tab, you should be able to copy from that (although I suggest deleting the url=imageshack.com/whatever bit, and probably the "Uploaded with image shack" line as well. Looks like doing that will let it post just fine, as seen below

I shall return...
...with something.
...hopefully.
...soonish.
ut oh, rl stuff is slowing down glimmars texture packs and preventing him from working on his minecraft world? somebody needs to help gimmar take care of his rl duties. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS PEOPLE! we cant have rl stuff slowing down glimmars world and texture packs. i want to see them!
Just quickly lookin' in and lovin' the things that have been posted.
Thanks for all the encouraging comments...all much appreciated.
Glad to see Faust popping in too. :smile.gif:
@ Sage of Creon: love the blue moon phase edits in particular (very atmospheric indeed), but will include all your efforts in the 'extras' download when I gets the time to sort it.
@ d95: I'm looking forward to seeing more of Bioshock Infinite too. Doubt I'll get time to play it though. :sad.gif:
@ spoonman/28: Thanks for your support mate. I know I should be texturing, but with such little time I've just recharged my batteries by building and thinking about new ideas, etc. The festive season here is always very busy, with work, kids, etc. So very little energy for much else, but I'm just as enthusiastic. :smile.gif:
@ FreddJW: Hah! That comment about the fencegate made me chuckle, because I did exactly the same thing myself a while back. I walked around the flippin' thing and even did a double take on the terrain file and then I realized.
@ ksheep, oddball: Both great inspirational pics.
I love iron bridge constructions and anything on that scale gets you wanting to see how something similar would look in Minecraft.
That dragon reminded me of Warhammer 40,000 stuff, and I still have quite a few artbooks...had forgotten that a lot of the Warhammer stuff could be a good source of inspiration for steampunk, the mobs in particular.
Will try and post some pics, but pretty busy still.
How many fingers does that guy have?
hah... his face now looks so familliar...
Great job!

I've been editing a few of Glimmar's works for myself and thought I'd put them up here for anyone to use.
Blue moon phases:
Glowstone (animated):
Redstone torch(animated):
Monster spawner (animated):
Mossy cobblestone matches Gestankfaust's cobblestone in the extra's pack:
Note that I only edited existing blocks and did not create anything myself.
Thanks to alcla and ksheep for helping me to sort out my posting images problem.

How is that even possible? They both use the same texture (wood planks).
My Website. I make mods for Minecraft and am also making my own game.
