* MediaFire seems to have sorted itself out this morning, so I'll repost this update again here, at the same time as updating the OP. Hopefully anyone having issues with the RapidShare download will find MediaFire ok and vice versa:(
Full use of this pack requires the latest version of 'MCPATCHER'MC Patcher link.
All HD texture packs require MC Patcher to fix graphical glitches and to make use of HD custom animations and new custom terrain animations (yes, many of the terrain blocks and items in this pack are now animated! See the v3.2 changelog below and earlier changelogs).
To repeat - Don't forget to use the latest version of MC Patcher if you want to see all the new animated terrain blocks and items. It is also absolutely necessary to fix things like fire on bricks and gold blocks, water in the nether, compass and more...these glitches are not caused by this pack!).
************************
There are other pics of the new stuff back through the past few pages. After messing with MediaFire I've not got much time left for uploading new pics. :sad.gif:
I will update the OP as soon as I can, so be the first to download here...and here's that changelog again:
Glimmar's Steampunk v3.3 for Minecraft v1.0 Changelog with pics:
I tried to take some pics of the different squid, but light levels work against anything of worth. There are now 9 squid in total, if you want to track them down on a squid hunt. 7 are my experiments and the remaining 2 are old ones by Gestankfaust and No.44. The one's in the following murky pics are mine:
Here are some other new things in the latest update:
All new 'Brass' spider:
'Daddy Long Legs' spider:
New 'standard creeper', with brass caterpillar tracks (or should that be Creeperpillar Tracks?!):
New 'junior creeper'...who is just a little sad to be so short. However, don't let that cute little expression fool you, he's no less of a bang than his big brother!
If you're coming to this update fresh from not having updated Minecraft 1.8.1, then you may wish to check through my earlier pre-release changelogs (in the OP) to get a complete picture of all the new things. However, since my last update, please note the following changes:
New experience orb 'xporb.png' sheet. No more invisible orbs...hopefully. This was a quick edit and I probably will try to do something a little more steampunk in the future.
New 'animated' dragon egg texture...which should have been in the last update! Just a little subtle animation to give a hint at something pulsing inside. Also the animation is purposefully discrete so that if built with (using TooManyItems), like the redstone torch, you don't want all your build for miles around to pulse in time. It's unrealistic and annoying!
New Dragon health bar...again this should have been in the last update!
New 'off-state' repeater animation. Doesn't actually animate, but does update the image to match the animated 'on-state' repeater animation.
Added a couple of extra lights to the 'on-state' repeater animation.
Added PATR101's excellent animated version of my Eye of Ender block. He animated it just how I imagined it should work. :smile.gif:
Re-edited some wool blocks again, as I think I 'faded' the colour a little too much in the 3.2 update.
Fixed the new 'robot' villager, based on the old zombie mob skin by Vondell, courtesy of PATR101. I put the file in the wrong place, etc.
Increased the brightness of grass, foliage, tall grass, etc. to try to mitigate against the horrid dark swamp and the horribly stark transitions we now seem to have to live with. :sad.gif: Trust me...you get used to the brighter landscape, but I know it might not suit you all. :sad.gif:
Edited the flowers and pumpkins to match the changes made to the landscape above.
Increased contrast on vines to better stand out against the new foliage brightness.
Fixed a line of pixels that had somehow (due to carelessness) attached to the side of the foliage texture.
Edited cobble and mossy cobble to eradicate an annoying diagonal line of mortar I had been aware of for some time. Now tiles better than before, but still striving for 'tile perfection'.
Added a new shadow.png file.
Included all the alternate terrain texture sheets as requested.
Provided some alternative custom_water animation colours as an experiment. A darker lambent green one to almost match the new swamp water colour to cancel out the harsh transition.
Included a green coloured custom_fire animation for those wanting to complete the set of green lava, torches, lava bucket and polluted green water. Adds a whole new opposite dimension to the phrase "going green". :biggrin.gif:
Included my old extreme HD custom water, lava, portal and fire animations for those with powerful computers. In the 'alternate stuff' folder.
Included any custom_terrain animations I chose not to use in a 'custom_terrain animation experiments' folder.
Moved the alternate textures into an 'alternate stuff' folder in the pack.
two new Glimmar creeper mobs for use with the Random Mobs feature of MC Patcher. More to follow in the next update.
two new Glimmar spider mobs for the RM feature. More to follow in the next update.
Fixed the glowing red spider eye overlay to null, to facilitate random spiders with different eye position (not sure if it's possible to have multiple eye overlay types?).
Included my alt Enderman texture in RM. Only difference is it has chainsaw teeth!
Included alternate Glimmar baroque wolf in RM.
Included my old tamworth pig in RM.
7 new Glimmar squid mobs for the RM feature...may be more! More sure to follow in subsequent updates. They're great fun! A couple are just variations on de-limbing to see what a squid would look like without any tentacles.
New zombie mob edits by PATR101 included for use with the RM feature. I just needed to edit the 'stabbing hands' and the feet on the robot limbs. Notch reversed them some time ago without telling everyone. :smile.gif:
New pigzombies by Dazqo for RM.
New squid by No.44 for RM
Finally got round to including No.44's more painterly alternative kz.png file in the 'alternative stuff' folder.
@ PATR101: Haha. I shall set aside a quiet time every birthday to think about Albania and Liberation Day. That's cool! :smile.gif:
Also many thanks for more zombie robots. I was wondering how long it would take for my female steampunk character to be zombyfied. :biggrin.gif:
I love the hover bot varieties, though it makes me realise if I design a few more robot templates there will be scope for even more edits. Try sticking a human head on one of my spiders for something really creepy!! One of the things I got that was quite fun and not anticipated, was a skeleton spider rider that used my cut-down spider. It made the skeleton look like it had spider legs! lol
This makes for a lot of variety, which can only be a good thing, but I'll stick your latest offering in the next update if that's ok. Thanks mate. :smile.gif:
@darthbrick: Love the 'elemental arrow' re-textures. :smile.gif:
So...just updating the OP now with my 3.3 update...a long winded process. Gah!
Hey Glimmar. I am a huge fan of yours, and I was wondering if there were any way for us to get your totally amazing world save file, the one in your videos. If so, thanks. I really want to explore it and I think its awesome. If not, then I understand.
Loving the update as always. Haven't been playing as much Minecraft with Skyrim being out (being a Nord and all) but still got the chance to tinker.
By the way I'm listening to the new Nightwish album and remember your post about it earlier. I'm slowly growing to like Anette in this one. Don't know if anyone has posted this before, but this is suitably steampunk related from their last album.
As always your texture pack is the only one that can make me build stuff in Minecraft Glimmar :)Thanks for keeping up the good work! I've posted a few screenshots from my hobby project (LINK)! Feel free to use any of it in your OP if you desire it :smile.gif:/Disco
...And thanks for the encouragement, Discomental. Your world builds are truly awesome, but I particularly like the scale and simplicity of the obsidian world. I will certainly use some of those pics if I may.

One day I'll put it up for perusal, but it's still my private retreat and testing ground and I want to make some more vids of it. It's the only world I've ever built in, so it has a lot of sentimental attachment.
I'm flattered you'd want to look round it, but it's still a bit chaotic with lots of experiments when testing out textures.

Haha. I'm rewarding myself with Skyrim for the next few days. My son is coming home this weekend from uni and I bought him a copy as a homecoming/birthday gift. So we'll all be chanting along to that most excellent music in the game. :biggrin.gif:
My son was the one who got me interested in Nightwish and I remember him showing me that vid way before getting interested in Minecraft, had forgotten the steampunk overtones in it.
Oooo, it was my birthday and I forgot to ask for the Nightwish album as a pre-order...lol. Because I'd already got Skyrim, much to my wife's annoyance, I asked for a new electric shaver instead (how boring is that!). :biggrin.gif:
First I would like to say this texture pack is amazing.second can you give snow golems a texture?like maybe make it look more robot like.i use a few and they look a bit out of place.
In this TP there is only one npc texture, i wrote Glimmar about wrong placement and wrong name of this texture in private missage right before this update, but i think he didn't read it...
What to do:
Open the texture pack, in "mob" folder you'll filnd villager.png, you need to create a folder "villager" in mob folder. Place there villager.png and rename it to butcher.png or farmer.png, librarian.png, priest.png, smith.png. And then you'll se a new texture in game.
Just gotta say, this is my favorite texture pack ever. Only other one I use when not horsing around is Jolicraft, since it tends to be updated before this one is.
Anyway, my point is, this pack is simply fantastic. And it's animated!
"in the event of a root uprising i would support the robots, does that make me a bad person?"
i had, reopening page helped me
