Oh, I can download stuff from rapidshare just fine :3
Then when I upload the latest update to MediaFire, as soon as it's complete...just finishing my squid off and stocking up on sorethroat medication at teh mo'(feels like I've got a silverfish squirming around my adam's apple)...I'll upload to RapidShare as a mirror. There'll be a delay though, because it's been a while since I last used it. :smile.gif:

Okay. :3
I had fileshare work for me today. I'm hoping it doesn't spaz out worse than when my dad found out I hacked the computer...
i have finally started the bioshock 2 texturepack, but it's hard to make metalblocks with rivest when glimmar already have blocks with rivets.
i have good news: I GONNA DONATE SOME MONEY! ,but i dont know when. i wanted minecraft pocket edition and i bought a paysafe card, but i cant buy stuff with it in the app store.... i will donate some money to glimmar and use some money on other stuff i need.
i havent seen any donate buttons on the front page, but im going to check now.
I feel like a spammer but theres so much awesome steampunk stuff to share with my fellow gentlemen (and ladies).
For example, a music video for unhallowed metropolis!
!
Just saw that video myself. Rather good song, and the video compilation fit rather well, despite the fact that it was taken from three or four disparate videos/movies.
Update on my airship. I tried making a tnt cannon, and used an older model that I used in 1.7x the problem is that i accidentally blew up the hull trying to fire it!. After a quick redesign of the hull, I tested and fitted a newer style of cannon, one that actually works without destroying the airship!
here's the pic.
I've dubbed it the "Rusted zephyr". You can also see where i tested my tnt cannon.
I haven't seen this type of TNT cannon anywhere so I've decided to give an excessively eclectic and pseudo scientific name for it.

Hey Glim, this is completely unrelated to anything, buuuuut, what is your avatar?
I noticed you've had it as your avatar since the dawn of time (not quite) and I was wondering if it was from something, just a random doodle of yours, etc.
Really sorry to keep you kind ladies and gentlemen waiting, but last night my throat really got the better of me, so I had to pack in and try and get some sleep. Tossed and turned and when I couldn't sleep, I whiled the time away dreaming up different designs for random mechanical mobs...very sad I know.
I'm back working on finishing some squid variations off and I'd quickly show pics here, but all that wastes a little time, and I'm sure you'd rather I worked to finish the update off. So instead, here's an advanced copy of the next 'changelog', then you can see what's coming...if I don't forget to put the stuff in.
It was also my birthday yesterday, but I'm not celebrating it until the weekend when my eldest gets back from uni. I couldn't really have celebrated it yesterday anyway, I was mostly non compos mentis and not for the usual reasons of too much alcohol! Feeling run down and tanked up on medication is soooo much fun! :blink.gif:
I am feeling a little better today though, so perhaps I'm not on the way out just yet! :biggrin.gif:
Oh well...here's the log for those of you who like to peruse these things:
Glimmar's Steampunk v3.3 for Minecraft v1.0 Changelog:
If you're coming to this update fresh from not having updated Minecraft 1.8.1, then you may wish to check through my earlier pre-release changelogs (in the OP) to get a complete picture of all the new things. However, since my last update, please note the following changes:
New experience orb 'xporb.png' sheet. No more invisible orbs...hopefully. This was a quick edit and I probably will try to do something a little more steampunk in the future.
New 'animated' dragon egg texture...which should have been in the last update! Just a little subtle animation to give a hint at something pulsing inside. Also the animation is purposefully discrete so that if built with (using TooManyItems), like the redstone torch, you don't want all your build for miles around to pulse in time. It's unrealistic and annoying!
New Dragon health bar...again this should have been in the last update!
New 'off-state' repeater animation. Doesn't actually animate, but does update the image to match the animated 'on-state' repeater animation.
Added a couple of extra lights to the 'on-state' repeater animation.
Added PATR101's excellent animated version of my Eye of Ender block. He animated it just how I imagined it should work. :smile.gif:
Re-edited some wool blocks again, as I think I 'faded' the colour a little too much in the 3.2 update.
Fixed the new 'robot' villager, based on the old zombie mob skin by Vondell, courtesy of PATR101. I put the file in the wrong place, etc.
Increased the brightness of grass, foliage, tall grass, etc. to try to mitigate against the horrid dark swamp and the horribly stark transitions we now seem to have to live with. :sad.gif: Trust me...you get used to the brighter landscape, but I know it might not suit you all. :sad.gif:
Edited the flowers and pumpkins to match the changes made to the landscape above.
Increased contrast on vines to better stand out against the new foliage brightness.
Fixed a line of pixels that had somehow (due to carelessness) attached to the side of the foliage texture.
Edited cobble and mossy cobble to eradicate an annoying diagonal line of mortar I had been aware of for some time. Now tiles better than before, but still striving for 'tile perfection'.
Added a new shadow.png file.
Included all the alternate terrain texture sheets as requested.
Provided some alternative custom_water animation colours as an experiment. A darker lambent green one to almost match the new swamp water colour to cancel out the harsh transition.
Included a green coloured custom_fire animation for those wanting to complete the set of green lava, torches, lava bucket and polluted green water. Adds a whole new opposite dimension to the phrase "going green". :biggrin.gif:
Included my old extreme HD custom water, lava, portal and fire animations for those with powerful computers. In the 'alternate stuff' folder.
Included any custom_terrain animations I chose not to use in a 'custom_terrain animation experiments' folder.
Moved the alternate textures into an 'alternate stuff' folder in the pack.
two new Glimmar creeper mobs for use with the Random Mobs feature of MC Patcher. More to follow in the next update.
two new Glimmar spider mobs for the RM feature. More to follow in the next update.
Fixed the glowing red spider eye overlay to null, to facilitate random spiders with different eye position (not sure if it's possible to have multiple eye overlay types?).
Included my alt Enderman texture in RM. Only difference is it has chainsaw teeth!
Included alternate Glimmar baroque wolf in RM.
Included my old tamworth pig in RM.
5 new Glimmar squid mobs for the RM feature...may be more! More sure to follow in subsequent updates. They're great fun!
New zombie mob edits by PATR101 included for use with the RM feature. I just needed to edit the 'stabbing hands' and the feet on the robot limbs. Notch reversed them some time ago without telling everyone. :smile.gif:
New pigzombies by Dazqo for RM.
New squid by No.44 for RM
Finally got round to including No.44's more painterly alternative kz.png file in the 'alternative stuff' folder.
I'm sure I've probably forgotten to mention some things, but I did my best.
Right...I'll just climb back into my steampowered copper diving bell and finish those last mechanical squids off...."Aaargh, I be with you in a tic, me little tentacled pretties!" [choose an accent off 'Pirates of the Caribbean']

"in the event of a root uprising i would support the robots, does that make me a bad person?"
Well, I am confident that whatever mad creation you design, it will be epic, what colours are you aiming for, and will it be a draconian, or will it be a natural dragon, seeing as it has eggs? I am curious as to how your mind works with these things XD. As if it is a draconian, i am thinking you will do brassy/steely colours, but if you do natural, I am thinking you will do dark scales with acidic green to match the rest of your pack. :tongue.gif: I want to know if my guesses will be right. I am a strange gentleman.
Thanks, mate. :smile.gif:
Lol! When I get round to doing it the dragon will most undoubtedly be mechanical, with black brassy metal colours, probaby...might be. Minecraft beasties being what they are, made up of square edged boxes, just work so much better as machines, especially for this theme. :smile.gif:
i have finally started the bioshock 2 texturepack, but it's hard to make metalblocks with rivest when glimmar already have blocks with rivets. i have good news: I GONNA DONATE SOME MONEY! ,but i dont know when. i wanted minecraft pocket edition and i bought a paysafe card, but i cant buy stuff with it in the app store.... i will donate some money to glimmar and use some money on other stuff i need.i havent seen any donate buttons on the front page, but im going to check now.EDIT: what,no donate button?
Haha, don't worry d95, I've not got copyright on rivets. I do like 'em, but couldn't afford to go back in time to take out the necessary patent. :biggrin.gif:
As regards donating, that's very kind but I've never had the courage to ask for anything for what I do. :smile.gif: So long as people don't nick it, say thanks occasionally (if they like it), that's been good enough for me. :smile.gif:
I feel like a spammer but theres so much awesome steampunk stuff to share with my fellow gentlemen (and ladies). For example, a music video for unhallowed metropolis!!
I enjoyed that. Great music, but I didn't know Vernian Process had been so busy putting vids out. Outstanding.

Sounds like dangerous work!
Will be updating the OP along with the update, so expect to see your airship up there. Have re-established ksheeps 'dome island' and some of Pipehead's huge battleship pics too, after a little foray back through the thread. :smile.gif:
Hey Glim, this is completely unrelated to anything, buuuuut, what is your avatar?I noticed you've had it as your avatar since the dawn of time (not quite) and I was wondering if it was from something, just a random doodle of yours, etc.The new mobs look fantastic too, btw!
Oh, just a little watercolour I did ages ago of a random fantasy creature (was going to do a series)...nothing worthy, but when I joined the forums, it was the first thing that leapt to mind when I needed a pic to go along with my name! :smile.gif:
i was just thinking that the villagers should wear fawke's masks.
All in good time, mate. :smile.gif:
I'd hope one day that Random Mobs might extend to the villagers too. That would certainly make villages interesting places to visit.
One day I shall turn my rusty gimbled gaze to the villagers, but as they don't really interest me at the mo'...I am right in thinking they still don't do anything yet?
Happy Birthday, I used my Electronic Cortex time manipulator, so you actually received this message yesterday...well today...well...oh no...I am lost in time.
We'll send a rescue party out on my Time Machine Bed! :blink.gif:
Hey Glimmar, happy birthday for yesterday. Maybe this could be a little gift, the creator of the mod that removes the hard coded swamps has clearly listened to the community.
Now that's certainly a nice pressy! I shall give that a whirl tonight.
I have a drattin' swamp smack bang in the middle of my dockland! I know I could easily build over it, and probably will in time, but the point is, as I expand I'm always going to be bumping up against these stark areas...it's not an option to go and build elsewhere as some casually suggest. So I'm glad we've got this for now until Jeb and Notch figure out how to have swamps work properly.
Thanks, mate.
It's too late in the day now to change my grass and foliage colours back, or tinker with the biome triangles again, but I'll be looking back into this with this mod in mind. Don't forget my old triangles are still in a folder in the 'misc' folder in the pack, if anyone wants to see what they look like again. It can take up quite a bit of time making new biome triangles that work.
I FOUND MY TEXTUREPACK THREAD on the bottom of the sea(forum)
it will probably get bumped by me when i update it with the new hud icons(evehypos, adam and cool hp light bar) that im working on. the only thing in the textuepack is the rivetgun and my cool plasmid bottle.
edit: oh, i forgot to tell that you're a lancer big daddy in my texturepack because the lancer is the most technological big daddy and my hud is hightech.
i may turn the enderdragon into a strange songbird(the big bird in bioshock infinite).
i like the new spider and creeper textures and i cant wait for the squid.
i remember when i posted my squid that i made for a lot of months ago. it was very bad because i uploaded it with facebook and the squids mouth was too big.
sorry for all the typos, i type very fast and its bedtime now.
After a year of having no problems with MediaFire, I find I can't upload anything at this present time, so I'm completely reliant on the RapidShare link below. As soon as I get a response from MediaFire and some kind of resolution I'll put up a link. Sorry folks :sad.gif:
Full use of this pack requires the latest version of 'MCPATCHER'MC Patcher link.
All HD texture packs require MC Patcher to fix graphical glitches and to make use of HD custom animations and new custom terrain animations (yes, many of the terrain blocks and items in this pack are now animated! See the v3.2 changelog below and earlier changelogs).
To repeat - Don't forget to use the latest version of MC Patcher if you want to see all the new animated terrain blocks and items. It is also absolutely necessary to fix things like fire on bricks and gold blocks, water in the nether, compass and more...these glitches are not caused by this pack!).
************************
I tried to take some pics of the different squid, but light levels work against anything of worth. There are now 9 squid in total, if you want to track them down on a squid hunt. 7 are my experiments and the remaining 2 are by Gestankfaust and No.44. The one's in the following murky pics are mine:
There are other pics of the new stuff back through the past few pages. After messing with MediaFire I've not got much time left for uploading new pics. :sad.gif:
I will update the OP as soon as I can, so be the first to download here...and here's that changelog again:

I'm sure I've probably forgotten to mention some things, but I did my best.
Right...I'll just climb back into my steampowered copper diving bell and finish those last mechanical squids off...."Aaargh, I be with you in a tic, me little tentacled pretties!" [choose an accent off 'Pirates of the Caribbean']
Awesome cant wait for the update and happy belated birthday.
"in the event of a root uprising i would support the robots, does that make me a bad person?"

Curse PremiumThanks, mate. :smile.gif:
Lol! When I get round to doing it the dragon will most undoubtedly be mechanical, with black brassy metal colours, probaby...might be. Minecraft beasties being what they are, made up of square edged boxes, just work so much better as machines, especially for this theme. :smile.gif:
Haha, don't worry d95, I've not got copyright on rivets. I do like 'em, but couldn't afford to go back in time to take out the necessary patent. :biggrin.gif:
As regards donating, that's very kind but I've never had the courage to ask for anything for what I do. :smile.gif: So long as people don't nick it, say thanks occasionally (if they like it), that's been good enough for me. :smile.gif:
I enjoyed that. Great music, but I didn't know Vernian Process had been so busy putting vids out. Outstanding.
Sounds like dangerous work!
Will be updating the OP along with the update, so expect to see your airship up there. Have re-established ksheeps 'dome island' and some of Pipehead's huge battleship pics too, after a little foray back through the thread. :smile.gif:
What's happened, mate? :sad.gif:
Oh, just a little watercolour I did ages ago of a random fantasy creature (was going to do a series)...nothing worthy, but when I joined the forums, it was the first thing that leapt to mind when I needed a pic to go along with my name! :smile.gif:
Lol! Now I can stand a good joke like this...it's when folk are really serious and ask something like that...then I get worried! :biggrin.gif:
All in good time, mate. :smile.gif:
I'd hope one day that Random Mobs might extend to the villagers too. That would certainly make villages interesting places to visit.
One day I shall turn my rusty gimbled gaze to the villagers, but as they don't really interest me at the mo'...I am right in thinking they still don't do anything yet?
Many thanks. Hope it doesn't disappoint too much.
I'm going to re-wrap and open my Skyrim game this weekend, 'cos I still haven't spent more than 4 hours total in the game yet! :sad.gif:
We'll send a rescue party out on my Time Machine Bed! :blink.gif:

Curse Premiumit will probably get bumped by me when i update it with the new hud icons(evehypos, adam and cool hp light bar) that im working on. the only thing in the textuepack is the rivetgun and my cool plasmid bottle.
edit: oh, i forgot to tell that you're a lancer big daddy in my texturepack because the lancer is the most technological big daddy and my hud is hightech.
i may turn the enderdragon into a strange songbird(the big bird in bioshock infinite).
i like the new spider and creeper textures and i cant wait for the squid.
i remember when i posted my squid that i made for a lot of months ago. it was very bad because i uploaded it with facebook and the squids mouth was too big.
sorry for all the typos, i type very fast and its bedtime now.

Curse PremiumGlimmar's Steampunk Texture Pack version 3.3
for Minecraft 1.0
After a year of having no problems with MediaFire, I find I can't upload anything at this present time, so I'm completely reliant on the RapidShare link below. As soon as I get a response from MediaFire and some kind of resolution I'll put up a link. Sorry folks :sad.gif:
download here:
Glimmar's Steampunk v3.3 on RapidShare
************************
Full use of this pack requires the latest version of 'MCPATCHER' MC Patcher link.
7 new Glimmar squid mobs for the RM feature...may be more! More sure to follow in subsequent updates. They're great fun! A couple are just variations on de-limbing to see what a squid would look like without any tentacles.
I made these out of your original bow and arrow textures, and used HEAVY copypasta on the colors.
Those are some very nice textures you have there [:SSSS:]
Skin: http://i.imgur.com/YCuK8.png
this is a first try, today i've got some ideas how to improve it )
while i was making this zombie i've got another idea
Here is a FC-100 (Flying Centurion, model 1.0.0)
skin: http://i.imgur.com/WkFzI.png
He is run out of ammo, but still dangerous in close combat
and one more zombie based on alternate character skin

And Happy Bithday Glimmar! Do you know your birthday is a Liberation Day in Albania? :happy.gif:
