Mkay Glimmar, i see what you mean (sorry for the late response, i haven't been able to get back to my pc for a while :/). Also, my original idea was for you to add a portion to your page with the 16x16 version, but i can easily start a separate page with credit to the original.

Haha! I thought you meant you were only borrowing my sandstone texture...I'm probably getting my wires crossed with other requests...too many things to think about, sorry 5tyxandst0nes. :biggrin.gif:
If your making a 16x version of this pack, then yes I would be happier if it was released through this thread. :smile.gif:
*************************************
Sorry everyone, I was hoping to update last night, but got called away. Back on the case now...shouldn't be long. :blink.gif:
Here's my very first update for the big grownup Minecraft version 1.0 (wow...so refreshing not to have to put 'pre' this or 'beta' that after the title!):
Full use of this pack requires the latest version of 'MCPATCHER'MC Patcher link.
All HD texture packs require MC Patcher to fix graphical glitches and to make use of HD custom animations and new custom terrain animations (yes, many of the terrain blocks and items in this pack are now animated! See the v3.2 changelog below and earlier changelogs).
To repeat - Don't forget to use the latest version of MC Patcher if you want to see all the new animated terrain blocks and items. It is also absolutely necessary to fix things like fire on bricks and gold blocks, water in the nether, compass and more...these glitches are not caused by this pack!).
I'm a little disappointed the biome colors still haven't been fixed (if you know of a solution please let me know), however all you folk who've had to stick with Minecraft 1.8.1 can finally move on to all the new stuff, so check out all the changelogs in my OP (the original post of this thread) to find out what's been added to Glimmar's Steampunk.
There's still a long way to go with the pack...mobs, villagers and gui's still to do, but all the terrain blocks and items are up-to-date, though some things are destined to be animated in the future. Enjoy
Come back and leave a nice comment if you like some of the new stuff, perhaps consider using my signature (available in the OP) or click on my reputation button, all these things encourage me to carry on and make new stuff.
I'm off to tinker with animations and mobs and hope Notch/Jeb or Kahr (MC Patcher) sort out the biome glitches and hard-coded colours then I can return to my more natural biome colours.
A few reminder pics of the new things in my latest v3.2 update:
New alternative HD Female Steampunk Character:
Eye of Ender block and Enderstone 'gantry/grill' block:
Eye of Ender and one of the new moons:
Another of the new moon phases:
...and another:
Copper Cauldron block:
New Paintings:
Finished of the rest of the items:
Glimmar's Steampunk v3.2 for Minecraft 1.0 Changelog:
If you're coming to this update fresh from not having updated Minecraft 1.8.1, then you may wish to check through my Minecraft 1.9 pre-release changelogs (in the OP) to get a complete picture of all the changes. However, since my last update, please note the following changes:
New copper cauldron texture.
Re-edited some wool blocks again to tone down the over rich colour. I think they feel more appropriate to the theme when they look slightly faded rather than burning your eyeballs out. It also helps when using the wool blocks as rivetted metal panels...too rich and they take on the appearance of plastic or modern glossy steel and not what I was looking for with a grungy steampunk feel. I'll make the old colors available as alts as soon as I get a chance.
New gravel. Not sure about this - as ever!
New Mob Spawner.
Added Eye of Ender block. and accompanying enderstone 'gantry/grill' block. This still needs some features adding for animation purposes, but I'm happy with it for now.
Added Eye of Ender item.
Added Spider Eye item.
Added Fermenting Spider Eye item.
Added Copper Cauldron item.
Added Blaze Powder item.
Added Magma Cream item.
New alternate HD female steampunk character available in the 'mob' folder.
New robot villager based on the old zombie mob skin by Vondell, courtesy of PATR101.
Lots of new paintings in the 'kz.png' art file. Incase this breaks any of your current designs the old file is in the 'art' folder in the pack.
Spent a fair amount of time refining the appearance of the new 'moon_phases.png' file. The moons are now more 3-dimensional, with more lighting effects and less like they're flat cut-outs stuck on the inside of a dome.
Tried and failed to remove the effects of the horrid swamp biome colour transition! I would be grateful if someone would notify me of a solution to this problem as soon as it surfaces. Many thanks.
Added alternative green acidic lava bucket 'items.png' sheet. Now residing in a folder in the pack (along with the green acid lava custom animation strips and a readme file).
Have fun. :smile.gif:
...just updating the OP. So get it while it's hot! :biggrin.gif:
That is not so bad if your lad has other types, I like your choice I listen to anything from Rock such as Panic! at the Disco (I especially like the Ballad of Mona Lisa, I would recommend watching that video, it features members from the League of steam and My Chemical Romance, I also like Heavy Metal and Metal (Three Days Grace, Disturbed etc), Country, (Johnny Cash ftw, Labi Siffri (I believe he is country)), steampunk (rock?) such as Vernian Process thanks to you :tongue.gif:) But currently I am listening to more Neo Classical such as Maksim Mveki :tongue.gif: Definitely a good one, especially child in paradise!
I checked out Maksim Mveki and really liked his style. Very impressive talent. :smile.gif:
Now I've updated, I might even have a little more time to look at more of his stuff.
I don't know if it's your packs fault or just my computer, but there's something strange thing going on... All the bricks have a fire texture and portal texture in there, kinda splitting it into fourths. Netherack also looks like water... Any suggestions on how to fix this?

It's neither. :smile.gif:
You just forgot to read the warning signs above (and in my OP) about the MC Patcher (Minecraft Patcher). All the problems you describe are fixed by that most wonderful programme. All, repeat, ALL HD texture packs require the MC Patcher to fix graphical glitches, such as fire on brick, gold, water in the Nether, compass, beautiful animated water and terrain block, et al.
All these problems and confusions could be wiped out overnight if only Notch truly supported the use of texture packs, rather than just 16x ones...but he doesn't, so a genius called kahr stepped in and fixed things for him. Notch's choice of course, it's his game, but everyone likes to play games in different ways, just like they prefer to create and build in different ways...that's the success of Minecraft, just a shame it's not easier for folks like you who are new to HD texture packs.
So get that patcher (link above and in the OP and at the top of the Texture Pack Section of this Forum) and enjoy the pack and all the other HD packs too! :smile.gif:
Of course good chap. (: I just thought it was finished because it's 1.0.0 ready. o;
Haha! You'll all be playing virtual reality versions of some Minecraft equivalent in the far future and I'll still be trying to finish my pack! :biggrin.gif:
Must say, good going with the latest release. Really like it. Took me a while to realize that the gravel had changed, at first thought it was the giant mushroom block… ¬_¬
A couple things I've noticed, however:
The experience orbs are occasionally invisible. I think this may be due to the fact that there are now different "sizes" of orb, but you only have one, the smallest size.
The "Boss Health" bar is nonexistent. Makes it slightly more difficult to tell how beat up the Ender Dragon actually is.
Other than that, everything looks great. Can't wait to see what you do with the Dragon.

Glad you like, ksheep. :smile.gif:
Ooops! That boss bar probably came with the RC2 release and I didn't even notice it then. I shall have a new update out as soon as poss. I make too many assumptions and cursory glances at what might need changing and assumed nothing graphical had changed since 1.9.5. When's Notch going to stop sticking new stuff on that icons sheet? lol.
I haven't noticed my experience orbs disappearing, have always thought Notch's pulsing orbs were ok as a stopgap until I think of something to compliment my orb, but I shall look into that too, but it might take a while longer than adding and updating the boss bar which is obviously a game breaker. You can tell I only build.
Hah! Don't expect the dragon anytime soon...now that's a beasty in every sense of the word! :biggrin.gif:
I'm glad to see Counter Strike (or was it Team Fortress? My brain is mush at the moment!) hasn't subsumed you completely yet! :tongue.gif:
In emergency response to ksheep's observant comment above, herewith please find one urgent updated 'icons.png' file for all you ender dragon slayers:
Copy the above image and paste to your desktop...rename to 'icons' and drop it into the 'gui' folder in my Glimmar's Steampunk texture pack.
I'd be grateful if someone could test this out for me, as I haven't got a Survival world anywhere near getting me to the End...too scared! :tongue.gif:
I will of course update the pack as soon as I've had another look at the 'disappearing' experience orb. By the way I love the new tinkly sound it makes. :biggrin.gif:
Looks like it's working just fine now. I'd like to point out however that you can get to The End on creative as well as through survival, if you want to test anything out there.
Regarding the XP orb, it looks like the base version has a 4x4 grid, with the first 11 being used as different "sizes" of XP, whereas yours only has the one. It seems as though most mobs drop the smallest one, which is the one you have, but they can conglomerate into larger orbs, and the dragon drops a LOT of XP (at least 25 levels worth), most of which is invisible as it's the larger orbs… Sorry if this is adding a lot more work onto your plate. You may be able to get by with just resizing the one you have for the smaller ones and use the current for the largest version.
Ensconced in my secret underground test studio super base, there's a lot I miss, so I'm grateful ksheep for the info regarding the experience orbs. I hadn't realized the difference in the size of orbs had significance in the game other than that pulsating light you get from within. I understand better now and can probably rustle something up tomorrow, but I need to catch up on sleep now. :smile.gif:
That was what I feared regarding the nether brick/grate texture I did. I desperately wanted to use that texture in my own buildings, but being a mesh it would moire terribly from a distance. As mentioned in my posts earlier, it will be fairly easy for me to make a range of alternate nether brick blocks to suit different tastes, because the Eye of Ender 'dynamo/valve' skin can just be overlaid on the alts.
Haha...the next problem then surfaces, getting my Minecraft Customiser offering up and running or I can just upload some alternate 'terrain.png' files in the interrim. The upload section of the Minecraft Customiser is slightly defeating my mushy sense of logic at the moment! :biggrin.gif:
Perhaps I need to upload a few sample blocks and put it to the vote, because it's a real tricky one to find something that works in the nether in the dark, but compliments the Eye of Ender and can still be a useful building block for Minecraft Creative types like me. :smile.gif:
I need to check when the TooManyItems mod is updated again, because I really want to use my dynamo valve where I want rather than just in the Eye of Ender chamber and it's not available in Creative.
Team Fortress, eh? As I typed Counter Strike, I think I realized without checking that my mind had defeated me! :blink.gif: [lol! I've just been watching X-men, so I have to stop myself coming out with sentences like that]
This texturepack is really great! I love it :biggrin.gif:
Thanks for the encouragement Prah2011, it is much appreciated. Have fun and if you build something interesting let us see it here. :smile.gif:
*****************************
Oh, just remembered, I've filled up the 4th Alternate Textures Sheet and started on a 5th. SO I need to get that uploaded for those of you brave enough to cut and paste things yourself.

Also, I remembered the other thing I was going to say. The End Stone looks fairly good as single blocks, but when you're on The End, you have a bit of a problem with a slight distortion effect (I believe it's called a Moiré pattern) that is slightly disconcerting. It's not at bad on ground level, but when on creative flying around, or on top of one of the towers, it is quite noticeable. Not all that big of a problem, but you may want to look into it.
EDIT: Oh, and it was TF2. Decided to put that on the back burner now that Minecraft is out… unless I get addicted to something else! :tongue.gif:
