Pjpuas...glad you like the update and I look forward to seeing the vid and nice to welcome you back. :smile.gif:
Teagaulicious and kabazt. Industrialcraft (I didn't know there was an Industrialcraft2) would be an awesome project to work on, as indeed would be the Aether mod...and some other mods too.
The problem is that I'd really need to play with those mods to make even a passing attempt at Glimmarfying them. Every time I have some free time after updating my pack after a Minecraft update, I have to catch up with real life, etc. and the mod updates are often not in sync with my free time. :sad.gif:
I do keep meaning to have a go with Industrialcraft, but then I get side tracked with other things to do with fixing my own pack.
If I had the time I'd be making textures for alsorts of mods, making different resolution versions of GS, uploading stuff to the Minecraft Customizer, but I'd have to be fulltime employed on the Minecraft payroll to do that, lol! Oh, I also like to just have fun building, or trying to build an epic world.
I do treat your requests seriously and I completely agree with you, but like it says in my OP, with a family and work and other stuff to do, I just don't get the time to do all the things I'd love to do in Minecraft. Flip, I even have about 20 top PC games still unopened from over a year of playing and texturing Minecraft. :blink.gif:
Thanks for the new bricks, Glimmar. They looks so nice. :biggrin.gif:
Haha! Thanks feathers. After playing with them again I noticed their wasn't sufficient contrast between all the building blocks...in particular the stone bricks, stone and cobble so have reworked those for the next update. :smile.gif:
Now that's how the textures should be used! Nice and dark with a hint of Deus ex and Bladerunner. You shall have some gleaming diamonds for your trouble. Thanks, Grugsy. :smile.gif:
just checked out what is in the 1.9 2nd pre release and there is lots of new items and a few new mobs
Very slowly working on the items, but the mobs will just have to join the line of disgruntled creatures waiting for a new suit. Not had a proper look yet but isn't there a new 'repair table' gui?
happened to make a steampunk ironman-looking skin.(I was supposed to read physics all that time -.- exam is in 8 hours. :sleep.gif: why am I not sleeping now)
Minecraft is probably responsible for more sleepless nights than any other game. Best wishes for the exam and love the dinky little iron man skin. :smile.gif:
I'm excited to see how you make the new music discs.
Mmm, yes. A lot more music discs probably means I'm going to have to change the brass music box cylinders to allow for colour differentiation. Tricky, but fun.
I am currently working on updating the pack with all the latest stuff and was already busy changing a lot of stuff on the terrain.png...some new things and better contrast between others like stone, cobble and stone bricks some fixes and more 'punchy' ores. If there's time, I'll also be working on better tiling obsidian (with a bit more sparkle), less 'hurt-your-eyes' gravel, sand and slowsand.
I got a little time to play and found a nether fortress...awesome work by Jeb and Notch. Indeed, with the dark red brick and the idea of the Nether being like a vast Victorian foundry the new stuff really compliments the pack theme.
Rest assured any free time I get will be spent on updating, but I'm rather busy again this weekend and the first part of next week...wife has to go into hospital again and my son starts at Oxford uni, so will be helping him with packing and transportation, etc.
That is a good question, are you running any other mods? Or did you
happen to delete the "META-INF" folder from within the JAR file?
Although had everything ran correctly with MCpatcher, said "META-INF"
would have been deleted for you.
There are just too many variables to provide with good help with out any
more info. Though I hope the above did help.

i did but i took them off, i was looking for the META-INF when i was gonna put the water shader in and i couldent see it
if only I could take credit Glimm... I use a build world that someone put together with all the best mega builds on it. it's the best place to test textures. was flying by that building and was like, whoah. :tongue.gif: oddly enough, the thing that looks the worst on that world with your pack is the giant steam punk clock tower. wtf? lol
I'm currently doing IC2 conversion for myself using this pack so if Glimmar lets me (this is me asking btw :tongue.gif:) I will happily upload them for anyone who uses IC2, although I may take some time being as I am addicted to the latest 1.9 pre-release...not to mention it won't be nearly as good a job as Glimmar would do. More just something to make the new stuff fit in :smile.gif:
No problem with me, neronix17, if you upload here. :smile.gif:
With your permission I'll add them to the OP and properly credit you for the conversion work. Who knows I may retire a rich man one day and spend all my time just texturing and have a go at all the mods that would fit this theme...that'd be the life!

Haha. Reminds me of the Steampunk competition the forum ran. I think the only people who entered the competition using my pack where Ksheep and Faust! Too many people see Steampunk as bright and cheerful, whereas I see it as grungy and industrial. So I content myself with the knowledge that it will never appeal to the masses, just the select, discerning few. Lol! :biggrin.gif:
Glimmar's Steampunk also has a symbiotic relationship with my own world build, so rather selfishly I only make things to suit what I'm currently building.
One of these days I must download me a few maps and see what other folk get up to. :smile.gif:
Omg I'm even more excited about the enchantment table.
Yes. I was just looking at the news regarding the possible enchantment system. Looks good, as does the use of potions, but I'm a little disappointed about the use of a potions stand now instead of a cauldron.
There's a great deal of new material in the new 1.9 update when it gets released, especially for those who haven't sampled the pre-release version. It's going to take a great deal of tweaking to iron out the bugs before the cut-off point in the middle of October.
That looks awesome- Just fix the brick texture, its a half portal half fire half brick texture for me. Other than that, great!
Glad you like. :smile.gif:
As regards the graphical glitches...just use MCPatcher. Follow the 'installation instructions' in the OP. All...I'll repeat...All HD texture packs require the 'MCPatcher' programme to fix graphical glitches and customised animations, etc. Notch could fix this confusion very quickly, but steadfastly refuses to for strange esoterical reasons known only to the 'Great Ones'. :blink.gif: We lesser mortals have to make do with the brilliance of kahr who wrote and maintains MCPatcher and makes it possible for people to have true choice in the way they play the best game in existence.
All the most popular texture packs require MCPatcher...simple as.
I actually had no idea until now, but from what I can see, all the new textures look absolutely fabulous. Great work as per usual, Glim! :biggrin.gif:
Haha, thanks Sheep! I'm just working on another update to fix some contrast issues, add a new snowflake texture, some new textures, improve on some other terrain textures and add in the new 1.9 pre-release 2 item textures.
I believe your working on a very big update too. How's it going?
...I'll just pop over like I already should have done!
After looking over the "potion stand" a bit more, I realize that it looks like its just a centrifuge. Something like that could look fantastic in a laboratory environment, more so than a cauldron would.
Now I must head back to minecraft. Someone burned down the majority of our village so I have to rebuild.

Retired StaffThat would be epic.
I too would love to see a massive mining system powered by steam.
