Looks great Glimmar, a lot of my redstone contraptions don't look nearly as good without this texture pack. In fact, hardly anything i make looks as good with a different texture pack. But if it's not too much, can i request a terrain.png with dark purple bricks?
Here is a "little" project I'm working on my friends server, your texturepack adds a great feeling to it! I'm going to upload a pic of when it's done. From outside:
And a train station right beneath:
That's big! Nice one.
You've just reminded me that I was going to change the paintings around and perhaps include a train station related sign or two instead of so many wheels.
Flip, I've never come across a game that has such unlimited potential for customisation
The transparency renderer was changed in 1.8, and some programs don't give the correct form of transparency. I believe Photoshop is among these. However, Paint.NET does. The fix for the white spiders is just to open your spider_eyes.png in Paint.NET and save it again. Also, Glimmar, I sent you an update to the Steamcraft textures. (I took the liberty of adding a temporary spider-eyes.png to it, which was just the green parts of the spider.png cut out)
So that's what was going on. I've never used Paint.NET before. Would it not be possible to just resave in Gimp, or is it strictly Paint.NET or nothing? I'm assuming this is a temporary issue, but why hasn't the change impacted on other transparent objects ingame? For example why didn't my enderman skin turn white with it's separate enderman_eyes.png graphic?
I blame Faust for this. :tongue.gif:
I shall update your Steamcraft link forthwith. Thanks Proloe. :smile.gif:
I always ferget to mention that you have the old spider still in the pack. I made a better on later, but it got lost in all the "stuff" since then(I'll fix it and post again...maybe I'll redo it!):biggrin.gif:
Sorry about that, Faust. I remember you mentioning that before, but I'm sure the one included is the bigger of the two you posted (the smaller one is in the 'extras') unless I'm really going mad. You'll just have to forgive my lack of organisation and the speed with which pages go by. I know it's slowing down a bit now but back then it was even more difficult to keep up. :blink.gif:
ps. Did you include it in that pack of mobs and character skins you put together? [Slopes off to have a look].

Thanks, mate. :smile.gif:
Ooooo! That's a strange request. Dare I ask why you prefer dark purple bricks?
Here you go though:
Not sure if that's the shade of purple you had in mind, and don't forget to rename to 'terrain'.
On another note, with gravel being used so extensively as roads/paths in villages I'm not liking the way my texture works. It's okay vertically in some of my builds, but it definately hurts the eyes on the flat, so expect me to change it as soon as I get a chance.
It's a shame Notch/Jeb didn't make it easy to add new building design templates for the villages like the 'ruins' mod I used. Some of the buildings are nice, but others have some unusual choices of materials and shapes.
Yay! I've been searching nearly every day to see if this was updated! :biggrin.gif:
I've been using another texture pack, but I'm still in love with this one! (Although I should probably download it first before I say that lol)
wow! nice textures!!! take a long break from texturing av spend some time on something else, because you have done enough now! i love the crossbow!(i had that idea too,but i had a magic orb on the bow instead of 3 lights)
the steamer man is cool and the golems look like divers!

Yes! You might absolutely hate it! Lol. :tongue.gif:

Thanks, d95. :smile.gif:
I have yet to see these golems of which you speak. What are they and where's the best place to find 'em? I'm assuming they use a pumpkin for a head and my pumpkin diving helm gets used instead. I like the idea of that. Hehe!
hi - just wanted to say that the texture pack is awesome but some of the textures on blocks don't seem to be woking,
this specifically applies to the Brick & Gold themed blocks - basically the blocks face gets split into quarters where one quarter shows the texture, another shows a portal & another shows burning fire & the final one shows the intended texture again.
also my water, fire & lava textures don't appear to move - i.e. they are static like regular blocks - i was just wondering wether this is a problem caused by 1.8 which you plan on ironing out, intentional or just a problem i have - thanks.
Common mistake when first starting off, grab the patcher at the top of the forum.
you make the golems, place two snow blocks then place a pumpkin on top of the blocks (this is not in the crafting bench, you place the blocks down).
Also, you seem to have not posted any pictures of your real life build...
Thanks for the golem info, numberfour. Didn't realize the golem was the the snowman mob...silly me! I shall go and build one now and see what it looks like.
I saw my first snow blizzard in the Minecraft mountains last night. I liked the atmosphere it created, but I really need to work on a snow flake texture. This is the first time it's come to my attention and I must apologise to all you folk who like building in the snow. I generally build anywhere other than snow regions. Now there seems to be a new weather system, it definately needs some attention.
As regards the 'real-life' build, I got as far as finishing the foundations and laying the floor beams across and then I got sick, so it ground to a halt...like my Minecraft texturing did! We have some good weather this week in the UK, so hopefully I'll be back to work again.
As soon as I have something worth showing I'll upload a little pic.
Your work in this texture pack just amazes me! Seriously, this is probably one of the best packs out there, in my opinion.
Now, off to build a flying machine for my dad, who loves steampunk :biggrin.gif: (And is also a pilot.)

Wow! Your dad is a steampunk pilot? What a unique dad!
I'm not a big fan of the color Red and I never have been. Cant tell ya why, I'm fine with orange and the like.
We are all different, and that's what makes Minecraft and the world such an interesting place. Hope the terrain edit to purple was ok then. :smile.gif:
Hey all! I decided to show some pics of a new town that I recently started work on. I thought it looked rather good with the updated textures so without further adieu, here they are
Feel free to recommend anything that you think should be added
Here's some screenshots from the new MP world I'm on. Haven't done anything major with it yet, just made a moderate sized base in a cave system of a mountain. I must say, the new brick looks really good on it, and the glass and stone brick look great.

Main entrance to the compound.
Fully operational piston-powered elevator leading to a diner in the mountainside.

Minecart escalator leading into the main building.
i was just wondering could anyone make a green lava version of the lava bucket thanks if you can
Just happened to be passing by, so here you go oddbaall, one item.png sheet with a green lava bucket. Just rename to 'items' and drop it in the 'gui' folder of the zip pack and it should match the green lava animation:
I'm currently working on the 'snow.png' graphic to get a better HD snowfall rather than trying to see through Notch's chunky snowflakes. Now to find me a blizzard to check it works ok! :biggrin.gif:
i am having an issue with some of the textures. specifically the ones for bricks and the sides of grass blocks. that they are coming out all weird. they are like a patch work of random textures. has any one else had this problem? or any ideas on fixing it.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
see my builds here
"in the event of a root uprising i would support the robots, does that make me a bad person?"
i forgot that it needed that i will ad that and see if that fixes it. has that been updated to 1.8?
Yes indeed it has, I believe that it is actually compatible up to 1.9 pre-release, so you have
nothing to worry about there.

Wohoo! Thanks Glimmar! I am off to rebautify my Minecraft saves. BTW, I plan on making a newer
video showcasing all your amazing work. It probably wont be until this weekend though.
Anyways, thanks again for all your hard work. I know how hard it is to juggle a bunch of hobbies
and R.L. at the same time, but you Sir do it with style. :wink.gif:

To be honest I don't understand how anything I do inspires anyone. I'm flattered you suggest I might, Grugsy, but it's a bit scary nonetheless. Lol!
