I'd be grateful for any info on the new 1.9 blocks and items, just so's I can judge if it's worth upgrading 'em and not just putting the vanilla art in as place holders.
On the terrain - top to bottom/left to right, I can figure: lily pad, something that's a dirt side, then some biome aflicted dirt alongside(?), and at the bottom left is netherbrick and then the new nether funghi.
On the items sheet I can spot: something to the right of the bed, a gold bar thing to the right of the ender pearl and then three nugget-like objects to the right of the cooked chicken.
I've probably missed something (I usually do)...so wack me over the head with it and any other details you think might be relevent! :biggrin.gif:
Many thanks. :smile.gif:
ps. I'm certainly not clever, but I am noted for my useless information in the circles I frequent (which are ever decreasing circles I hasten to add)
Lets see… looking at the Wiki, there is Gold Nugget (yellow nugget-like object), Ghast Tear (white nugget-like object), Magma Ball (black and red sphere), Blaze Rod (yellow rod-like object), Nether Wart (new mushroom), Nether Wart Seeds (red seed-like object)…
For blocks, Nether Brick (dark brown/reddish brick-like block), Lily pad, and Mycelium (dirt-like block found in Mushroom biomes, probably has a unique side and top).
I'll wait til you finish the 1.8 update to do.....A NEW VIDEO! I'm already gathering footage for the other one I said I would do ages ago. But once you get the 1.8 update out, if 1.9 comes, I'll use some of your alt textures to fill in the gaps....
Sorry to be a bother Glimmar, but I was wondering if you were going to continue your support for steamcraft, since you are going to be cutting down on the time you spend texturing? No matter, I love what you've shown for 1.8 so far (especially the endermen)!
Glimmar doesn't make the Steamcraft textures. I do, and donate them to the pack, so you don't have to worry about that. I'm simply waiting for the pack to update to a 1.8-ready state.
Heya Glim!
Got an idea for the mooshrooms if you change the mushrooms, you could make the mushrooms some sort of mechanical object that plugs into the back of a semi-robotic steampunk cow and changes it somehow!
Oh and yea, I agree that the hardcoding of colours is just stupid, but I'm sure if it becomes too much trouble then the HD patcher will let minecraft use custom colours for things. (like it used to before Notch added support for custom biome colours)
This pack was one of the first I ever tried, and since I first discovered it in a Minecraftwb video, it has always been my favorite. I hope that you never grow tired of this pack, because you will always have people here, waiting to download the new update. I love the art style and it has even inspired me to get into some of the literature the pack is based off of.
In short, I appreciate everything you do with this pack, and am looking forward to the 1.9 update!

-Bdadams13- I will be changing my multiplayer name as soon as Notch implements a way to do so, supposing that he does.
Hi Glimmar, it's just me and my ideas again.
I would just like to remind you about that when you use a pair of shears
on the new mooshroom mob(the red cows), they turn into normal cows.
Therefore, I think it would be cool if the shears where some kind of purging device , purging the cows of some sort of infection.
alternatively(and i must admit that i like this idea the better), I think it would be interesting if the shears where actually a wrench (which would also match with the recipe), and mooshrooms where mechanical cows which you
re-configurate with the wrench, however that might require a larger reskinning of both the cow and the sheep(and possibly other mobs, depending on how you look at it).
on another note, I'm glad that you're well (and that I, least of all, have been noticed). And i think
that when you make a texturepack it's important to have all of the textures fit together. "quality over quantity",
it is with those words in mind, that you should craft your texturepack.
some thoughts over the progress of your texturepack
- Gamelord
I must say, I really like those ideas, especially the second one.
can someone help me with this? ive downloaded and done everything with mcpatcher. ive installed my mods and they work fine. but when i put in this texture pack and select it my game lags horribly. like i cant even move its so bad and idk its doing this. i patched with mcpatcher and selected the HD textures and font. plz help. i really like this texture pack i just cant get it to work
Dear Glimmar,
since i have a lower end computer(graphics-wise) and i know i am not alone and i love this texture pack (once again not alone) could you convert this texture pack to 16x16 or enlist someone to do so

i second this request. would really appreciate it if this could be done.

To answer both of you whilst Glimmar is busy...
He has no plans to make a 16x version and probably never will. I had started a 16x conversion a while back, but have not had time to sleep let alone texture/convert. I feel your agony over not being able to run Glimm's pack, but some of his work is just reeeeeelly hard to shrink to fit. I may give it a go again though...and could/would even consider a collaborative effort.
Just not here. If I do so, Glimm has said it's cool with him to make a separate thread for it.

Yes it is. It sucks. I wish they would release the new block pic all at once for this double update.
I must say, I really like those ideas, especially the second one.
