For those who aren't able and probably would have been executed in Texas :wink.gif: then I have done the small adjustment to make this compatible with 1.8 (no pink stuff and hopefully all there) so I thought I would throw it on mediafire and link it as a temporary use till Glimmar gets back :smile.gif:
Hi here is a screenshot of the edited 'Enderman Gentleman', I upped brightness and contrast alot since he is a shy guy and would not come in vicinity of my torches ^^
and a Skelleton riding on a spider :
I think thise is must be just "Boss Enderman". Dont look at him and u survive =D
I had an idea for the Endermen. they could use glimmar's pumpkins as heads, having sort of a bioshock feel to it, and the face would glow red with the enderman_eyes.png. this could also give a reason to why they won't attack you if you're wearing a pumpkin: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Enderman
What with the 1.8 update, and trying to burn the proverbial candle at both ends (looking after my family, building work on the house and 'real' work) has resulted in my own health taking a sudden nose-dive.
When what should be a pleasure becomes a struggle... it's time to change. I want Minecraft and this texture pack to remain a pleasure and not become too much like hard work...where I'm trying to meet deadlines and yet ignoring my family responsibilities. So sadly...I won't be on the forum, answering posts and generally making my OP as chaotic as possible anywhere near as frequently as I have in the past.
However, retreating to my little garret means I can at least still keep my enthusiasm for Minecraft going and also pop in with updates as and when I've done them.
I apologise that you've all had to wait so long for an update, but both before I went sick and after I started getting my energy back, I've been working hard on lots of new textures. Rather than just churning something out, I've also had the chance to really experiment with some of those key new textures...iron bars, glass panes, etc (both of which make great framework, grills, girders and fences with proper railings, along with lots of other changes (clay, brick, sandstone, grass, etc. and wool again!) to get what I think will give a good palette of adaptable blocks for dark steampunk industrial sci-fi. Have a look at the spoiler wall of pics below for clues.
It's a little way to go yet, but the update is nearly finished.
I've made a nice brass 'slide-rule' style gui for those (like me) who like the new creative mode. I've just about finished all the terrain, items, icons (in part), chest (slowly warming to the new dinky chest), enderman (top secret!) (also love all the name suggestions: stealum, clankerman, gearman), I'll sit on the fence and keep the name open for now, but I'm a kindof leaning a little to 'steelyman' (with credit to GameLord for 'Stealum') I'd have loved Gearman or Clankerman, but those names are already taken online and I was looking for something I couldn't be accused of nicking down the line. If it's a choice between uploading or finishing the cave spider and silver fish I'll upload first and post new stuff as and when I can. My grasscolor.png and foliagecolor.png files don't work at all well after the update (no smooth transition despite my best efforts!) so I've gone back to Notch's version temporarily.
Oh, I've also been re-working my OP to try and simplify things for myself for the future...which will be swapped in when I release my update.
It still surprises me there's mileage in this old pack yet. At my lowest ebb I was seriously contemplating packing it all in, but so long as I've got time to play with the game and not just texture all my spare time (curse you Jeb, Notch and all you modders!), I can stay enthusiastic and still come up with some new surprises. And when I see your projects and vids (eg. yokcos700 and BriggCo...staggering inspirational stuff!!!) it's very motivational.
Thanks for your concern (and patience), folks.
I'll just climb back up to my little garret now and take my medicine.
I'll be back just as soon as I can...

Glad to see ya though Glimm. And I'm feeling the same. Started and stopped updating more than I want to recall. Just no spark most of the time. I do hope to see ya more, even if you have to email me or something

According to jeb's and notch's tweets, they are going to / may release an update tomorrow which includes two new nether mobs and maybe snowman/snowgolem...
I'm not seeing where you're getting that they'll release tomorrow… but yeah, there are a few new things they're working on (including a mooshroom, which is a red cow with mushrooms growing on it).
And Glimmar, as everyone else has stated, your number 1 priority should be the well-being of you and your family. We won't mind if you don't update right away.
glimmar I am sad to see you wont be around for tea anymore, but Its understandable. I wish you the best of luck with your endeavours and will always be popping in to see your fantastic updates! (those endermen are truly terrifying!!!!!)

they did state they would release either a leak or a proper version tomorrow on twitter :smile.gif:

If we don't feel comfortable doing a proper release, we'll do another "leak".

Ah, yeah. Didn't see that until a minute ago. Haven't gotten round to catching up on my twitter feed lately, I'm about a day behind. It's amazing what one can miss over the course of a day.
I am looking forward with anticipation to the new pack by Glimmar. This pack gets my vote hands down. I wish to express my thanks for a wonderful pack that has immeasurably added to my Minecraft experience! I'll happily wait as long as it takes because I know it'll be worth waiting for!
But mostly I express my best wishes to you and yours Glimmar. Good on you for putting yourself first! Family and and your own health are the most important!! :cool.gif:
P.S. Thanks to neronix17 for making the pack usable for now... Lub you!
I'm just glad you posted. I think more than a few of us were starting to feel concerned about your absence. Like many have already stated, I too wish you the best.
Thank you one and all for such supportive words, I really appreciate all your comments. :smile.gif:
I've always thought this thread was a nice civilised place and you've proved that.
This is just a quick post to say with the 1.9 update out (and me just about to upload my 1.8 updated pack. Lol!), I'll carry on with the new terrain and item edits it will have thrown up, and simply ignore the new mobs and characters until I have more time. I'll upload a working (but not completely upgraded) 1.9 update as soon as I can, if the 1.10 doesn't come first. :blink.gif:
As slow as I am, I still wanted to let you know I'm aware of the update and working my way through all the new stuff. Although at this rate I'll be permanently catching up. Phew!
@ Dazqo: It's funny you should be working on the 'Back to the Future' train, because there's a connection in my Creative gui taster pic above...see if you can spot it...unless you already have. Those films are amongst my all-time favourites...pure enjoyment!
First, thanks for the texture pack, this is by far my favorite texture pack (I keep trying others, and always come back to this one).
Second, I hope things settle down for you soon - I know how it goes to just have everything fall to pieces. Don't stress about constantly being updated; if anything, THIS should be on the back burner for you.
ohh is the link the model and engine number? Or maybe what is behind the scroll wheel?
I'll say at the least it's not to do with the scroll wheel. :smile.gif:
That's also very astute of you, numberfour, referring to the slider as a scroll wheel. You see I envisaged the slider button as having a little cog mechanism underneath that glides smoothly over the sunken brass teeth...each turn of my mouse wheel moves the slider to another notch.
@ All:
Also, having just looked at some of the feedback from other texture artists I respect, and their dismay at the 1.9 update (Steelfeathers being one of them), I might upload sooner than later. Some of the new things in the 1.9 update do seem a little silly (redcow! :blink.gif: ), I suppose in time they can all be changed to something that fits the theme. I like the idea of new Nether blocks though. :smile.gif: I like the idea of 'any' new block...more possibilities!!
Mojang just seem to be rushing too much stuff too fast for my liking, but then I am one of the slow ones around here. If you were generous, I'd like to think you'd call me 'slow and considered'. :tongue.gif:
Right...back to look at these new blocks. As I said above I'll fill in the new blocks and new items and for myself continue with the 1.8, at least until things look a little more polished with 1.9 (I'm 'so so' about the new mobs and villagers...I like my worlds to look abandoned...Robinson Crusoe-like...with a whole world to myself!), but for those who want to sally forth into the unknown, you'll have something to carry on with.
Looks good! Should work until Glimmar finishes.
I think thise is must be just "Boss Enderman". Dont look at him and u survive =D

Now you say so, they indeed do...
As for Glimmar, personal life goes first. Anyone who disagrees in an **** and isn't worthy of using your pack anyway. :3
