Glad you like, Flaxlips. :smile.gif:
I've never heard of those textures glitching. Have you got the latest version 2.7 in my OP? It's soon to be updated again to 2.8 for Notch's big 1.8 Adventure update. Download link and instructions in the OP of this thread.
New Stone Block Taster Pics
A little ruin I built to show off my new stone bricks:
This is what it looked like with the water shader mod before testing the 1.8 update:
And lastly...what the new mossy cobble looks like with the stone bricks:
The bricks are designed to merge into each other as naturally as possible, yet still be useable enmasse in a large constuction without too obvious a repeating pattern.
Oh well, back to the drawing board...zzzzzzzzzzz
@ Santairo: Lol! 'Gentlemen' Haha...but actually that is quite cool. You could magine a future range of robots being advertised as gentlemen to offset their cold appearance, but being all the more sinister for it.
"Now gentlemen, where do you think you're going with my blocks!"

Looks superb Glimmar. Maybe change the hue of the regular cobblestone, though. Looks
awkward with those bricks having a rustic hue, and the cobble with a more modern, blue hue.
Does look great Glimm. I got to work on mine this morning, so trust me when I say, the tiling issues between the three types (if I saw correctly, cement, mossy cement, and cracked/aged cement) is gonna be a chore. So I wouldn't sweat it much

Thanks, MSchwaa. Glad you like the stone bricks. A real struggle to get the right combo.
I know what you mean about the cobble. It's a delicate balancing act. I personally like the slightly bluey/grey variety(it's what we still get a lot of here in the North West of England down many old back alley ways). I'd already spent ages on making the mossy variety of cobble, before the new stone bricks came along and I couldn't face spending another day doing cobble!
Another thing to return to again when I've refreshed my cobble batteries. :biggrin.gif:

It's getting that combination of color and aging which got me tearing my hair out. Went through many varieties only to return to a simple block shape and many types of moss.
I wish you well my friend. :smile.gif:
Have you had chance to work on the Enderman yet? Have nearly completed mine, but I'm still trying to find one, but getting carried away in 'creative' experimenting with new glass panes and iron railings. That side of things is good fun, because I've always wanted more framework kind of building blocks.
I'm just a little concerned that my refined hardwood block looks a little out of place in some of the underground mine-workings I found. A more rugged rustic style lends itself to that environment. The discovery of railtracks and what looked like bridges and wooden supports was a wonderful surprise. Notch and Jeb have excelled themselves this time (despite the chest. :biggrin.gif:)
I now you don't have much time to read, this. But. Would you kindly do the aether? I'd download this if it included it. I have installed it, and I enjoy the Aether. I bet other's wouldn't mind if you made textures for it. I know, it's ALOT of textures.
For the Enderman/Gentleman problem, I suggest the following: Go into creative mode. Hostile mobs will still appear if the difficulty is up. Use F6-F7 to adjust the time to night. Start flying around aimlessly just above the ground, keeping on the lookout for Endermen. Found some fairly quickly after doing this. However, it's not quite that easy to find Silverfish. Still haven't found any of them.
Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. :smile.gif:
New Glass Block and Glass Pane Taster Pics
You're going to have to forgive me, but after the disappointment of the chest yesterday, I've just had the opposite experience this morning and got completely distracted having fun building a little tower to try out the constructional possibilities of my new glass block and glass pane. Needs some refinement, but it's getting there and hopefully gives you some ideas too. The new glass, coupled with iron bars is just the best thing that's happened so far in this update (you can tell I haven't got very far exploring the new stuff)...and I haven't even got round to the complexities of giant mushrooms! Lol.
Continuing onwards...in search of Ender...Gentle..Steamermen. :unsure.gif:
@ ksheep: Not sure why, but I didn't know it was possible to have hostile critters in creative. I'd just set off on an expedition as you suggested when I got distracted down a mine and then building the above tower after discovering flight. Haha, I'm really enjoying creative mode too much.
That tower! *crys* *throws book at Glimmar* Y U BE GUD BUILDER?!
Anyway, nice way to use the new glass panes..
*continues crying*
Thanks, Santairo. :smile.gif:
I tried to tie the glass in with the glowstone, as that so often gets used as windows, etc and it just worked well in my mind for metal constructions in general. Notch taketh away with one hand and gives generously with the other. I can forgive him the dinky chest now! :biggrin.gif:
For sure there are going to be lots of iron towers and gangways now in my world. Just wait for all the endless Eiffel Tower copies on the forums in general too.
In the leaked 1.8, you can see that Enderman have smoke puffing off them. This brings some good possibilities for a skin.
You could make the Enderman a creature purely out of smoke/steam, or some machine that just chokes you to death with the clouds of smoke coming out of it.

I'm setting some time aside tonight to find an Enderman. Have already 90% finished my version, so I search with bated breath to see if how I imagine it would be, works in the game. :smile.gif:
It does sound like there's a lot of potential, but just haven't had the time to look at all the new effects. I did see the ashy sparkles coming off the bedrock and just like the new bubbles underwater they are small but very atmospheric changes.
Glad you like my tower, but I'm still experimenting with the new glass and iron bars so they may be different by the time I update.
Hmm, as far as a new name for the Endermen, how about the "Firemen"? Grisly wanderers from another plane of existence, stripping our worlds of resources in search of fuel for the hell-fires of their own dimension.
I completely agree with the chests, though, but I do like how the glass panes and Iron Bars have turned out. Just want to remind you there's now a normal_light texture that determines the colors of blocks illuminated by torches and sunlight. Just imagine your green torches giving off a greenish glow! :wink.gif:
Enderman die in water too (otherwise I woulda died a lot so far)
:biggrin.gif:
Also...there's a file to change the lighting (at least I think it's what it's for). Not sure, but saw someone say that changing it does nothing as of right now.

"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to...."
This pack (actually, I only use the man-made items and blocks from this pack, not the natural materials and terrain) has become so much a part of Minecraft to me, it's always unnerving to try to play without it.
Phenomenal job, Glimmar, and I hope we will see at least an updated terrain and items .png file soon!
Question: will you be changing the torches' color to match the new lighting scheme?

all these 1.8 textures are daunting... apparently you can even change the light color with the new lighting system O.o
they do that when they teleport. if you engage one close up, youll see the smoke follow the direction they teleported to.
