Absolutely love this texture! I wanted to combine it with the Zeppelin mod, but the two don't seem to work together well - some of the animations don't work, and the Netherrack turns into water. Do you have any plans to tweak it so they can?
I recently downloaded the new 2.7 update for this texture pack with the awesome new graphics, but when I logged on to minecraft, there was an outline around the sand, I then looked around a bit more and saw that blocks such as grass, rails, torches, and so on were all extremely blurry. Also it seemed as though the terrain Png. was tilted or something because there was an outline around torches and flowers. It also looks as though my computer is trying to run the texture pack as a 64x64 pack, when the textures are 32x32. I've tried downloading and redownloading the texture but to no avail, I do not have this glitch on other textures. So if anyone knows how to fix this, or can give me a version 2.6 of this texture pack, I would be most grateful.
It's been a Long time Folks but a New Episode has finally dawned!
Hiya, TimewornDoctor. Always love your movies and style. Nice to have you popping in again.
Couldn't help noticing the biome compatible sides of grass doesn't seem to be working for you. Not sure what's goin' on there. Have you got my latest 2.7 version yet along with MC Patcher?

Haha! It's not the fault of my pack or the Zeppelin mod, mate. It looks like you haven't applied the 'MC Patcher' mod, which is necessary to make any texture pack with a higher resolution than the default work properly. 32x and up all require this mod. The following instructions along with the link are in my OP just underneath the pack download links.
The patcher also fixes other graphical glitches like fire on brick and gold blocks and water in the nether. Notch's fault for not supporting different resolutions. His choice of course, but a little limiting for all those who prefer something different. Anyway follow the instructions below and you should be sorted. :smile.gif:
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION:
1. Ideally, ensure your game is a clean, freshly installed version of Minecraft.
2. Boot up the Minecraft game, select 'Mods and Texture Packs', select 'Open texture pack folder' and just drag 'Glimmar's Steampunk' zip file into it, from where you saved it. Don't forget to select it as your
pack of choice.
3. VERY IMPORTANT! To fix Graphical Glitches inherent in MInecraft when using HD textures, you are advised to use kahr's new improved beta "MC Patcher HD Fix"MC Patcher HD Fix. There are clear instructions in kahr's thread on how to use the new patcher.

This sounds like another problem for MC Patcher, MinahCraftah. Is your MC Patcher up to date?
v2.7 of my pack shouldn't be causing problems like that. Try a fresh install of Minecraft 1.7.3 and apply the correct version of MC Patcher for that version of Minecraft and it should work ok. If all else fails, here are the links for version 2.6 of my pack. I hope you get it sorted, as I think you'd like the animations.:smile.gif:
Before you do that though, you could always just open up my v2.7 zip and move the animation strips out to a safe place and see if it's the 64x animation strips that are the problem for you. They're all .png files and are called 'custom_water_still.png','custom_water_flowing.png', 'custom_lava_still.png', etc. Those are the only real change from 2.6 to 2.7
Thanks for the compliment, It was hard trying to make my pack look so damn amazingly good it exceeds your pack in every way... but I got round :)Also, cake will be for everyone!
Haha! I'm givin' up then, but not before I steal all the cakes away. Nomnomnom :laugh.gif:
Glimmar, I sent you a small update to the Steamcraft version of the pack to include the new animations (and an extra mob texture for the mod). Just in case you missed it in the PM.

As far as I can see, this is because he is running on "Fast" instead of "Fancy" graphics, and it doesn't look like he used the "Better Grass" option (or whatever it's called) in the MCPatcher.
I've got some good news and some bad news. Jeb said that it will take a while to finish up 1.8, as they still need to fix up and polish a number of things. However, he also said he may release the unfinished PAX version shortly so that those fans clamoring for the update will be sated. Not sure if it's gonna be a "click here to try it out" or just put out as a normal update, but I thought I'd give you a heads up. You may need to make those blocks a bit sooner than you thought.
EDIT: Looking at the tweet again, he said "September 8th is a good guess". Now whether that means the PAX version or the completed version, I'm not entirely sure.

I tried redownloading both minecraft and the mcpatcher, but it did not work, I also tried taking out the custom png files, but when I rezipped the folder, it gave me the default textures for some reason, anyway, I'm relatively sure that the reason the textures are goofing is cause of my lame old mac, thanks for posting the link to a 2.6 version, as I said I am very grateful and can now play minecraft again with my favorite textures.
Those of you who keep an eye on the forum news here will no doubt be aware of the latest wonder mod! :smile.gif:
Here's a little vid showcasing Glimmar's Steampunk along with Necrowizzard's amazing 'Water Shader' Mod: link
View the vid at the highest res you can to see the mod to best effect. :smile.gif:
It creates a beautiful effect of real water with reflections and distortion. Works extraordinarily well in certain situations, but with a few little glitches such as sudden changes of reflection, distance viewing and the way it overrides my portal animation...not at all bad though. However, my new flowing water animation is happily even better looking with the mod running. Currently it doesn't work with BetterGrass, so if you try the mod don't forget to turn that option off in MC Patcher.
Overall an astounding mod bringing a truly beautiful quality to Minecraft. Kudos to Necrowizzard for such an incredible leap forward in awesomeness!
The water shader mod is indeed fantastic. I'm using it alongside Steamcraft at the moment. It's a bit annoying that it messes up the Portal and Steamcraft's Quartz Blocks, but it still looks fantastic.

Haha, at first I was a bit disappointed that it messed with the portal, but I'm temporarily viewing it as if the portal is stuttering and shorting out, so I can live with it. I wish the ripples were a little smaller, but all in all it's very beautiful.
By the way, I've at last updated your latest download, didn't get a chance before, so I'm sorry for being slow, but at least I've got the corrected one up in reasonable time...I think! :biggrin.gif:

The link appears to be broken. Seems you accidentally got rid of the "url = " bit. At least it's updated, though. That's the most important thing :biggrin.gif:
I think it is kind of sad that someone managed to, in Minecraft, make water that is better than most any other game. Even with some of the bugs it has.
