mmm, Tea does sound good right now. However, the wife has started coffee and it would be slightly rude of me to reject her coffee in favor of tea. Plus, I am feeling kinda lazy right now. :tongue.gif:

I could go a coffee, but I dont want to wake the mate that is sleeping in our loungeroom up.
Hey guys. I'm a longtime fan of this pack, and I love that Glimmar linked to that terrain.png editor, but there's a website that makes editing texture packs a whole lot easier.
I like this tool because it's browser based and it's not reliant on any one OS, while the tool in this thread is Windows only, meaning I can't use it since I'm on Mac.
I thought I'd just bring it up. Seemed like a cool idea.
Never thought I'd ask this of another artist, but could I have your permission to work on this texture pack to make it 128x128? I think it's wonderful, and I sure do love steampunk :biggrin.gif:. Also would give me something extra for my portfolio :biggrin.gif:
Thanks for your kind compliment, havoxx. :smile.gif:
As 7heBored says, you can do what you want to the pack for your own personal use, but no redistribution or posting online.
I'm still currently working on finishing Glimmar's Steampunk (animated water, lava and fire coming soon!) and wouldn't want a separate thread of a higher res to be a distraction after a year's hard work creating this one. If my present circumstances change, or I get the chance to retire and work exclusively on this pack, I'd like to keep my options open to explore higher resolutions using my own artwork.
I'm flattered you want to work on making a higher res copy of mine, but I'd prefer it if you made your own pack to your own design. Thanks, mate. :smile.gif:
Really nice pack, glad to see 42 was lookin' out for you :tongue.gif:
I count him as a good friend around these parts of the forum! :smile.gif: I've been very grateful to everyone here for their support and feel lucky to have such good mates. As they say, you know who your friends are when times get rough. Lol! Boy have they been rough! :blink.gif:
man this road is BUMPy... i can' believe there is so many potholes and BUMPs... the little owl in my brain (who wears a night cap) says this pack is the bee's knees... and always will be. nawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
I want what your on. It's definately got to be stronger than tea! :tongue.gif:
Glimmar disapproves of this spam...that is all....carry on:P
Lol! I like spam, reminds me of my childhood...'spam butties' ...I'm counting on dorian understanding that Spam is something you can eat raw or fry. I'm not sure if you State-side folk know what it is. However, Faust, your good with food, so I wouldn't put it past you not to know. It probably came over to the UK from the US during the Great War! Reconstituted ham in a can, that mostly everyone makes jokes about now where I live in the UK!! :biggrin.gif:
Your jovial messages back and forth make for very cheary, entertaining reading...carry on!

It's in the pipeline...a very long pipeline!! The guys at Minecraft Customiser have been very kind to offer to help upload stuff knowing my circumstances, but I really need the time to look it over and make sure everything is where it should be and that everyone who has contributed alternates, etc. is properly credited, especially with all the recent talk about licencing. I have to be honest and say it's just not possible at the moment, but I am keen on the idea.
@ Everyone: I've changed the wording in my 'licence' at the top to reflect my present circumstances. I'm getting so many requests for this and that use of the pack that I can't deal with them individually at the moment, so I've put some guidelines in there that hopefully cover most uses. They are inevitably more restrictive, because although my time is limited I am still working on this pack and don't want folk just making use of it willy nilly, here and there, especially redistributing it in other threads in whole or in part. :sad.gif:
Thanks everyone.
ps. fire, still water and flowing water and flowing lava...done! Now working on still lava...gah! Then I'll probably upload a Youtube vid for licence purposes so's I can prove down the line that the work was mine! Lol! Not that anyone would want to nick the stuff. :sad.gif:
pps. Had a quick glance back and realised Triskelli popped in. It's good to hear you're about, my good friend. Really sorry to have missed your post and sorry I'm not about as much at the moment to reply, but I appreciate your words, mate! :smile.gif:
Even though this texture pack isn't my thing, I thought I'd pop in; I vaguely remember somewhere you saying about all the problems you're having recently family-wise, this saddens me, as you seem like a really nice fellow and a rather talented artist if you don't mind me saying. So I wish you luck and and continued success with the texture pack. :smile.gif:
Thanks, mate. :smile.gif:
There are a lot of very nice Minecraftians on these forums, more than just mere gamers so to speak...yourself included. I very much appreciate your words, Santairo.
I got a new puter (new to me..around 2 years old). My mom (she rules) upgraded AGAIN to some Terminator looking rig a couple months ago, and I get her old one...yeah old is two years now I guess.
:tongue.gif:
Anyway...it's a Commodore gaming PC (they made a comeback in 2008). It's pretty sweet....only now I don't have a video editor (the one I used was the brother's that moved)
:/
Any recommendations for a broke guy on what to get (was using Magix)?
Very nice textures, especially the new torches! My only criticism would be the dark brown backgrounds on the item slots. This makes it very hard to see many of items.

hmmm...are you sure you are using Glimm's pack? The background is mostly metallic and not too dark. I can see every item very well.

It appears darker on some computer. I can see it just fine on my desktop, but while using my laptop I've noticed that some items such as the wood and dirt blend in with the GUI background.
Just made a rather sinister and fetching portal animation too! I'm still finishing the still lava animation...will it all be worth it I ask?
I am hoping to find time to work on new gui's that I can call my own sometime, but first I need to get these animations sorted, assess what's what with the 1.8 update, sort something for the Minecraft Customizer and finish off a summer house on a hillside to cheer up my wife!
Since yer about today...I'll show you a glimpse into "The Wrath of the Toy Maker". You always like mt mobs...which makes me smile...so here ya go
(not finished...have the body still to do)
Is it a kind of voodoo mask thingy? If it is, it'll work brilliantly with the skeleton and the Mythos theme. Love it either way, Faust. Can I also say that new avatar of yours is the best yet. The movement makes it really difficult to take yer eyes off it!
I must also say, since using what spare time I have to work on animating stuff, I'm appreciating more the effort you put in to animating my lava and your portal animation was amazing. Been looking at quite a few other portal animations too and yours is easily the most subtle. So it gave me a good standard to work towards...meaning I hope you'll like what I've come up with.
Glad you got a new computer off your mum. :smile.gif: Sounds like your mum is an uber game player! A very generous uber game player. :biggrin.gif:

Yeah...my mom rules! She plays all the RPG and FPS games. Played more than me I think. You should see her new computer...I think it's from the future
:biggrin.gif:
If you look closely at my avatar, then the skellie....you'll see the inspiration. I wrote the story (first part) on my thread.
Love this texture pack, it has such a great Victorian feel to it :smile.gif: I just happened on a yahoo article today on a real-life new york apartment with a steampunk look that immediately had me thinking of your texture pack. Here's the link if anyone want's to check it out, the pics are very neat http://ca.shine.yahoo.com/new-york-city-apartment-sails-back-in-time-.html
The owls disregard your statement as it did not involve tea.
I could go a coffee, but I dont want to wake the mate that is sleeping in our loungeroom up.
basically yes, hahaha.
