Just as a side note, that base of mine a couple posts up started as a natural cleft in a mountainside. I came across it while exploring, located up at the top of a valley of sorts. The cave itself reached about 3/4rs of the height of the mountain. I just decided to build up from there, using the size of the cavern as a starting point, reaching to the top of the mountain. The top of the greenhouse is about 10 blocks or so from the build limit. I would delve deeper as well, but a friend has a mine system directly beneath it. Still need to flesh out a few areas, but I like how it turned out.

I always love seeing structures that meld into the natural terrain...it's organic and has a beauty to it that you don't get with standalone non-integrated structures.
Replaced the door to the barracks level with a hidden door system. Took quite a while to get the wiring working properly… and the final wiring job took up a quarter of the Barracks room and half the Nether anteroom. Also had to move the trapdoors leading to and from the anteroom. Now to fix the lower exit door.
EDIT: After quite a bit of work and a fair bit of… creative… wiring, I finally got the lower hidden door to be hidden. Only problem was that part of the wiring stuck out of the side of the mountain. Had to cover that bit up with dirt. But, it's now fully functional and actually hidden… apart from the pressure plate in front of it.
I've always preferred the unassuming houses dug into mountains hiding massive multi-level complex's. Everyone builds giant phallic skyscrapers, real people of ingenuity know to use finesse.

I agree. I like building my houses to look like a reasonable sized cottage on the outside, but then to sink back into cliffs and such to multiply the space massively.
Well on a completely different note. I recently completed the outside of my manor. It isn't exactly a small cottage or set into a hillside. In fact, it is gigantic and on a plain. I must confess though that I am not exactly a designer, so I recreated the Pine's Edge manor from the voxelbox built by shockwav33. (inb4 you stole this design)
I have always been more of a Lego builder so I used the pictures posted on their webpage to construct it, which was still difficult. The interior will be entirely my own and I have had fun putting in piston doors. The 3x3 front door was especially fun. :wink.gif: Just wanted to post something I had worked on for a while. (btw it was built in Pipeworld) Oh and the square in the corner of the first picture is just used for world edit purposes.

That's awesome Ken. Is it on PW?
On the PW note...Ima cancel the Mumble server so we need to get together about where to meet up once I can get a better connection and the house done :tongue.gif: (plus people are still wanting to join PW)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack

Heh… totally forgot about that Mumble server. It kinda came up at a bad time for me (away from my computer, traveling, etc), and by the time I got back I had totally forgotten about it.

Yeah, it is out west by my tree. And I haven't really been on the mumble because I am working a ton. Hope we can get it started again soon.
Well...I don't have to cancel it, but I definitely can't afford it (right now at least...it's only $4 for the 20 slots and anyone can add funds to it). It's on til the 1st at least...
Ken and I are admins as of right now but would add more people if I know them enough. If it turns out that it's used enough, I'd try to keep it up. I personally can't say I'll be on this week. Too much cleaning and then I'm too tired
:tongue.gif:
I'll post this on mine and maybe Croco's again...see who bites. PM me for details. If you don't mind just kicking back on there, then feel free. But if everyone looks and sees it empty, but doesn't join/stay on...well....

never done the smp thing...mind if i join and take a peek?
I dont know if the pipes are designed this way but I cannot place them on walls or on ceilings. if anyone already has changed it so they can or can for me let me know. I'm trying to design a massive close able gate.
So I found a vertical redstone mod and it says it requires propertyreader. there doesnt seem to be any nstallation instructions for the additional files outside of the usual .class filee. theres two extra folders. one says javadoc and the other is src. Any help?
hey Glimmar, I'm using your new redstone wiring (the coppery version) with minecraft. If you use it in your next revision of your texturepack, will you change the paintings to match it? I often mix 'n' match redstone and the paintings to decorate my creations, and since they dont match, its not quite as nice to view.
