I can sympathize, seems like I spend most of my time cleaning the apartment, looking for a job and taking care of the kids. Thankfully my wife is wonderful and does more than I do around the house. When I get some alt texture I plan on using that site for Impression. For now it would be kind of pointless. XD
Haha! Sounds like we have a lot in common. :smile.gif:
Family can be very distracting at times from what is the ultimate sandbox game,() but I'm glad they're around and I have a very understanding wife plus my kids enjoy Minecraft too! Still working on the merits of Minecraft to my wife...though after a year I think she's finally understanding there's more to that blockiness than meets the eye, either that or I'm doing something illegal on the computer!! :blink.gif:
Just thought I'd let you guys know that I have Ver. 0.1.4 of the texture mix machine up now. The main feature for this version is that it adds support for items. (Yay!)
Good news: Notch just revealed that the 1.8 update will have a built-in brightness slider, so you shouldn't have to worry about people complaining about it being "Too dark" or "Too bright" come next update.
Just to let you know, we aren't able to view the submission via that link until voting starts.
Oh, and just as a side note… a little something I made with pistons, testing to see what all they can do.
I've got a set of three sticky pistons hooked up to the lever underground, creating retractable gates for this stable a friend made. I also made a hidden door and retractable stairs, but I may go and make a demonstration video of those.
I built the Land Levitation but due to Xtream art and punch a picture not bring up to date yet I cant add all the fiddly bits yet. :sad.gif: I turned out better than I would have thought but it's still pretty 'odd' looking.
When designing the interior I got the brain wave of putting pistons that go in out up down over and over again as inner workings. I'm sure that this will make all steampunk worlds and machines a lot better!
Your new armors are incredible. I'm very impressed and inspired. I'd say diamond armor deserves a it's own distinct art though. Small question - how do you use the 'spoiler' command in your thread?

the use of the [ ] [/] brackets with spoiler innit will do the trick
STEAMPUNKERS!! TONIGHT...WE DINE IN that cute little Italian place on the corner. You know the one. The one with the...yeah with the green tiled roof. You know...the one with all that steam gushing out everywhere. That insanely loud clicking and buzzing? Yeah...that's the one. Meet you there at six? Seven? I'll be famished by then. Guess I'll have to stop and get a knish along the way...

"Don't know why you should feel that there's something to learn... it's just a game that you play."
Excellent work again, mate! I love the downloadable aspect of your mixer, because it keeps things simple, in house (or in thread!) and means I can be lazy and just offer my alternate terrain and item textures on ready made sheets, which is what i already do. So big thumbs up for this latest item editing version.
Will you be covering other areas of a texture pack?
I can't see myself ever having time to have my own multiple mobs skins to choose from and those alternates I currently have are kindly submitted by users of my pack and I don't feel I can use their work as freely as my own. Terrain and item textures are a different matter. I have many of those and am always adding new varieties. :smile.gif:

How will that work then? In the case of my pack, will it not just mean it gets more washed out? It would be brilliant if it works well, but I'm a bit concerned it might do the opposite for me! :sad.gif:

That's a cool use of pistons for sure. There's going to be no end of ingenious ways of putting them to use, Didn't think of retractable barriers. I'd just been messing with putting fence posts on verticle pistons and raising great flag poles into the sky! Great fun. One of the best toys to play with so far! Hope Notch is still going to introduce more stuff like this, eg pulleys, etc. I know there are already mods that use them, but there's nothing like something official from a texturing point of view.
Gratz on the 300th page Glim! It's a staggering amount, even for someone of your minecraft fame!
You're very kind to an old 'has-been'! :smile.gif: Like I said above, I'm not sure it's a good thing to have reached 300 pages...it's just proof I waffle (mm I like waffles!) too much. :sad.gif:
300!!! WOOOO!!* That is fantastic! I am building a piston test park too. Haven't had time to do anything but make them all "go"
Haha! I built a special area next to my dock for my special machines...if I get the time to play! I've just thought of another type of redstone wire, so I'm relaxing fiddling with that to steady my nerves after mucking around trying to subtly animate still water...horrible experience! :sad.gif:

I'd be grateful if you could let me know when the Xtreme Art mod has been updated. I keep meaning to make some edits to that file. Less wheels and a few more decorations/paintings for the default and I should really have a go at making a range of kz.png files for different purposes. I look foward to seeing your Land Levitation (leviathan?) creation.
Does anyone know if the 'Rotating Wheel' mod is still active and if it's been updated for 1.7 yet? I was hoping to use that and transfer some of my wheel textures over to it. I really hope it's still going strong, but I did a cursory search for it yesterday and couldn't find anything. I'll have a look back through my thread for the link...the fact you could stick editable, variable speed rotating textures onto any surface (ceiling, floor and wall) was extremely exciting for this theme. Please let it still be alive! :unsure.gif:

Thanks, mate! :smile.gif: Yep, the gold and diamond are just place holders with distinctive backpacks, but they are planned to be much more unique. Not quite sure what yet, but some ideas buzzing around. The different backpack ideas came to me very last minute just before the 1.7 update (plain leather, steam, clockwork and chimical/alchemical), but it's given me something to go on when I do get back to them. Thanks goes to my favourite author of the moment, China Mieville for the inspiration there.
So uh, when are you going to put your pack on minecraftcustomizer.net? :biggrin.gif: Really, though, if its an issue of not having the time to upload textures, I'm willing to help.
That's a very kind offer, Kaiassc. I'm notoriously slow at keeping up, but I will get round to it and I'd like to do it myself as it'll probably be a good organisational experience for me, but if I get stuck I'll be sure to shout out for help.
It might still be a while,'cos my wife had some surgery in hospital today and I'm currently ferrying our kids backwards and forwards and doing all the housework, etc. Something I already do, being the modern man I am. :biggrin.gif: Just a bit more intense for the next week. I'm currently typing this over my lunch! :smile.gif:
Many thanks again for the offer, it's a fantastic site and an amazing resource. :smile.gif:

Your comment about waffles has also given me a severe craving for waffles... Even though it's 2 am here in Aus! :laugh.gif: (and time for sleep methinks... Been awake far too long today/yesterday)

THIS................IS.......................STEAMPUNK!! :biggrin.gif:
Shows I don't get out much, but what the flip is 'knish'? Sounds like something off Star Wars. :smile.gif:
I think I need to get that in the standard art file. I hope I'm not on the Free Mason hit list or anything for abusing their evil eye! :unsure.gif:
Many packs are more amazing than this now, but thank you. :smile.gif:
