Don't worry. To be honest, neither have I! So much going on - moving in a couple months, family health issues, changing jobs, and I have spent the last month on beta testing Star Wars: The Old Republic. So my time for Minecraft has been slim - I've barely been able to play, let alone do any texturing.
Your life seems to be mirroring mine then at the moment...family health issues too. Hope everything goes ok, and hope you manage to get some building fun in too! Thats more important even than texturing. The Star Wars beta testing sounds interesting. :smile.gif:
Really glad you like the wood...a bit relieved about that too, because it's impossible to tell how little changes can really effect other people's builds and wood is such a fundamental building block.
It tiles better to my eyes, and ever since you first released your pack I seem to be addicted to living in mahogany/teak mansions. The iron banding you added helps convince me that it's still safe enough to live in after leaving stone behind. Even the occasional creeper can't convince me to switch back. :biggrin.gif: It's a shame when I check out our Tectonicus maps, or see my build in the vanilla textures, and realize the others on our server don't see anything too special. Their loss!
As for you worrying about changes like that in the future, you really shouldn't for too long with all these alternative sheets you've assembled. The ability to easily customize the pack is one of the best parts you have going for it. Plus the teak. Have I mentioned the teak?

AMAZING WORK AND I LOVE THE NEW TEXTURE's and the ARMOR! I LOVE THE NEW GHAST!(GOOD job gestankfaust! my dream is soon true: glimmar + genstankfaust= EPIC PACK!)
Haha! We're not dating or anything, but he's ok this Faust chap! :biggrin.gif:
Glad you like all the new stuff, mate. :smile.gif:
I wonder if anybody has dared to make a rapture replica using this pack? Would be a very interesting project indeed...
Personally I think it would be an excellent project using this pack, I'd love to see it...it might even make me finish off my pumpkinblur.png diving helm in celebration, but you'd have to start from scratch to get the most out of some of my weirder textures and things like the piston...and of course you'd have to be partly insane to tackle such a challenge. I have seen at least one vid of a Rapture recreation, but I can't remember which texture pack was used in that case.
Bioshock was one of my favourite games of all time and of undoubted influence on some of my textures. That 1920-50's feel in the game is just as Steampunk as anything that's Victorian and coggy. Steampunk is a broad theme that delights in using any old style tech to create wondrously atmospheric things as distinct from today's clean soul-less tech, though understandably of course not everyone's cup of tea.

Haha, thanks mate. You've been a constant source of encouragement for a long time, and it's been much appreciated. Glad the teak is ok...well it finally got me making a little ship, so can't be all that bad. Lol! :biggrin.gif:
Love your builds, Strike1101. Oh! and your avatar...very spiffing indeed!
Nice to see them in closeup here and hope the new sides of the furnace come in handy for 'steam feeds' into the barrel of any future rail guns. I bet Notch's piston has been great fun to muck around with. :smile.gif: How do you feel about the brass barrel holes I used in place of green gloop for the sticky piston?
I'm okay with spiders...it's just Gestank's variety definately need something like your cannon for a feeling of security.
Incidentally, looking at your cannon, made me wonder if anyone had ever built a huge futuristic battlefield with Minecraft...or is that going against the spirit of the game? :unsure.gif:
Actually, the battlefield idea is something im kinda trying to work on right now. theres a large open space out in front of the cannon that ive started using for building prototypes/experiments... and then blowing them up a bit. the area is starting to get littered with various mechs, tanks, and steam vehicle components. Were i at home right now i would take a picture. I definitely dont think a battlefield would be going against minecraft, since minecraft is by its very nature, what you make of it.
And as for the sticky pistons. Me Gusta. Gun battels, vents, compound eyes, vented floors, sinister torture apparatus, these are the things that came to mind when i laid eyes on the piston textures.

That's a good list to start with...didn't think of the compound eye thing, but might look good on some stomping mega-bot or insect thingy. I might do a variant on the business end of the piston with more suction holes. The piston has great scope for many and various attachments...overall just a great addition to Minecraft.
I look forward to seeing your littered battlefied then! :biggrin.gif:

The wood...is and has always been one of my textures that I base my opinion of packs on. Yours (all of them) has always had me stumped as to which to use. I spent over an hour with your new version picking and choosing what I wanted to use before I even loaded up the game to check it out. None of my regular playgrounds has updated yet, so i can't post any great screens...but I think the hour(s) spent choosing were worth it.

"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to...."
The new update looks great! I haven't been playing Minecraft for a while because I bought a new game recently: Rise of Legends. It has an amazing steampunk team in it, the Vinci, and the graphics blew me away! The music from it is entirely relevant to your texturepack and I made a playlist of songs from it to replace the regular Minecraft music. I would like to share it but I'm afraid that due to copywrite stuff I wouldn't be allowed to post the music here. So instead, who has Rise of Legends? If enough people who use your textures do then I'll post some instructions for music transferral here. It was only about $10 at my local store and if you like Steampunk I really think it would be worth it!
Here's an image of the Vinci team with Leonardo Da Vinci style flying ships and an 'Imperial Musketeer'

Awe, I'm well out of candy at the moment, if only I'd waited! :biggrin.gif:
Well, I know you have lots to do with your pack, but if you did have some spare time I'd love to see what you might come up with to show off any of my new stuff. I seem to have less and less time for actual building these days. :sad.gif:

I bought that game when it first came out as I was and still am a great fan of Rise of Nations. Aside from the music, Rise of Legends has great graphics, imagination and still one of the best opening movies for any PC game:
Nice reminder of happy times, Squid Empire. :smile.gif:
There's certainly plenty of machines and buildings in Rise of Legends to inspire quite a few epic builds in Minecraft. I think I'll go and have a look again. That music list might be quite nice playing in the background. Reminds me of the days I had more time to play. Lol!
Don't forget about our own Vernian Process Steampunk collection of music too (links in the OP). :smile.gif:
Now I'm having trouble with my doctored sound files! When I try to play them in game via single player commands I get: could not phase command.
I think you need a mod to play custom sound files in minecraft. Check the Last Days texture pack. It has a custom sound file to go along with it so there should be a link to the mod there. :smile.gif:
I've always loved Rise of Legends since its release, brilliant opening cinematic and lots of characterful Davinci inspired steampunk. I never thought to try and rip the music to listen to for MC though good thinking Squid Empire, have an iou for tea and scones on me :biggrin.gif:
