yes you right 1st i going to add 2 more line's to the station
just started on the REMODELING off my station going log for now i finnsh it some time saturday
ok he the finnshed station i rerodeled it 2 time what you think off it
to the how i did it look on my topic link in sig
I love it, on the second row of pictures, I thought, you should really add a building next to the station, but as I looked at the third row I realised that you did that. Perhaps you could connect it to your main building, but anyway, this is great.
Well, my final final exam was yesterday, ending the school year with a bang... Or a crackle and a crash. As within the same hour, someone set a fire in my school, and I witnessed a car crash where a car wrapped itself around a pole! So, not the most relaxing end to a grade. :dry.gif:
Well, at any measure, it's given me more time to work on both my pack (it keeps dying, I'm struggling to keep it alive, I'm the only one posting) and the items that I'm contributing here and to Mythos. Speaking of the latter, I have the diamond tools done! :smile.gif:
EDIT: I also finished the gold tools, for any interested:
Great texure pack! Its now my favorite :happy.gif: But i have a problem with the gold, neatherrack, and brick blocks. They jus dont apper the sme way they as they would in the game as described on the item sheet. For example the gold blocks will have a mini fire block appear in the rigt coner of the block. So i was wondering if this is normal or if the texture pack didnt download currectly.

You probably didn't use the HD patcher. You need to use it to have any 32x pack work correctly, and to see any modified lava/water/portals.
Edit: I just updated my pack, in another attempt to save it.

As soon as I get home, I'll install these sheets. I really like this one, a steampunk-diamond-pickaxe shouldn 't be a drill anyway
Hello Glimmar Steampunk thread denizens, and Hello Glimmar!
Man oh man, where to start.. obviously, I'm a lurker, been using your pak longer than I can remember to be honest. I absolutely love it Glimmar & Contributors, the additional entertainment value your pak has added to my game play is immeasurable. The best part I think Glimmar & Friends is, I'm not even that into steampunk.. I mean, I dig the genre and all, and of course, like the inspirations for the genre - but I'm more of a Manga / Anime junkie than anything. I've checked out the paks of other 'leading' pak makers, and while there are always certain differences - your pak over all I think, is the most consistent looking and feeling.
Anyway, Glimmar, I love your pak, and thank you very much for sharing it, as well, thank you every contributor for helping, thank you everyone else for having interest in it enough to keep these guys plugging away on it. I am very humbled, and grateful for it all.
If I can offer any suggestion it would be this, create water and lava shaders.. I'm not sure if I remember but I think you mentioned it way back in the thread about why these weren't being done. - I can respect whatever reason there is, I just think having them would really fill in a large missing piece of the puzzle. After recently checking out Doku's pak (which I am in no way comparing to yours) I came to remember exactly how cool the water / lava pulse can be. After going back to your pak, I do miss seeing the water and lava breath with life and I think having that would only make your pak stand out even more.
So, without further ado, some pics of SoK's 'glimmarfied' projects. Please enjoy! *I claim to be no pro, I build for me, most of what you see was build entirely by me, unless otherwise noted.*
An overview... *note heavy construction in the NE sector not seen in the other shots. Added a boat, docks, market area to the right, and have walled off a large natural bay, back filled it, dug it out, and am building what will become an under water series of rooms, that I will then back fill with water again. The bay here is very deep, 15+ blocks in some places.
The view from the north dock entrance of the Oasis.
The north end of the Oasis.
The North East Side of the Oasis.
The South end of the Oasis.
The center piece of the Oasis, and what I'm taking the other pics from :
Another building I've done...
More towers...
Closer to the background tower - shot from the foreground tower in the above pic..
And my personal favorite piece next to the Oasis, being a Coach, player (goaler) and fan, I had to have my own Rink. The 'New Olympia' - should give you a hint of my team patronage.. =)
I hope you all enjoyed this, and I hope it inspires you to try this pak if you haven't already.
Could you upload this map? I know its your work, but i want to explore its awesomeness!
Thank You!!
Our current map file is around 2gb..
I'll see what I can do, but no promises..
I'm not geographically near the server,
although it is a RL friend that operates it.
I've got boat loads of pics, spend weeks in game wandering around shooting them.
I'll add more, although, less by me (my style is easy to spot among the others)
though, but we have some awesome group build stuff as well.
also : I've added more shots to my OP, check them out. =)

You are an example of the fact that this pack isn't really for steampunklovers but rather for megalomaniacs. The feeling of this pack is just the most fitting one for huge buildings and large areas.
Also, your projects are awesome! Really cool! Inspiring to almost everyone here.
Can you turn this into a 64x or 128x texture pack plz?
Ummm...yeah, hold on a minute. Let me put on a shoulder length rubber glove slathered with some K-Y jelly, reach up into Glimmar's nether regions and pull that out for you! (sorry Glimmar, but I know how you texture pack artists love to hide stuff like that up your bums and by god because some idiot wants it, you've got to produce it!)
Are you crazy? You can't just go around making insane requests like that. I mean did you even bother to read the OP?
Jeezus, if you want a 64x or 128x pack, go make one your damn self!

This is for the most part exactly why I picked Glimmars pak - the textures fit my building style and gave my buildings the proper look / feel / texture that I was going for being a modern architecture type builder. The rest was just gravy. That isn't to say it hasn't been without it's influences, I have a strange inclination to build a zeppelin or some other type airship moored to the lighthouse in the Oasis eventually.. =)
Just had a lot to do and my youngest has been poorly and needing more attention. I've been fairly tired and consequently just laying low...any spare time just relaxing with a little 'Terraria'(!) but still texturing and building in Minecraft.
Pipehead, Gestankfaust, you'll be proud of me, as I've been experimenting with mcedit and transferring all my constructions from my original mined-out clunky old Glimmar's World to a brand new 'Newglim' world and fitting them in as well as I can. My old world sadly was just too lacking in all the new things Notch added since I started the world, and was falling apart with chunk errors. I now feel like the govenor of a colony on a new world, overseeing the fitting out of a new city before the mother ship arrives. Lol! When I've got stuff transferred as fairly as I can, I will resort back to doing things the hard way (though the temptation of unlimited materials is great, I'm not quite ready to join the dark side yet. :biggrin.gif:), but in a nice new world of lapis, normal trees, etc! :biggrin.gif:
The planned quick update to the terrain.png sheet didn't come off as promised and when i got wind of the next update, I thought I'd wait for that as I am soooo busy in RL now. However, with what spare time I have, I've been working on changing a few things again and I'm pretty pleased with some new wood planking, new brick, completely new wool (no stitching!) amongst other things...I'm hoping you lot will be too. Hoping to have more armor done for the next update. Iron armor seems to be going ok. Oh... I've changed the face of the character too, to better fit the standard Minecraft positioning of eyes, etc. and that meant changing the leather helmet and goggles before I could start on anything new. My character isn't as maniacally handsome now! :sad.gif: But you'll now be able to use my armour better with your own favourite characters and vica versa.
Many thanks to all above for the nice comments, wonderful contributions, pics, etc. =SoK= that world of yours is amazing, and believe it or not, I'm not really any sort of Steampunk myself, but the subject, as you prove with your city construction, is just perfect for a sandbox game like Minecraft...despite the majority and Mojang seeing it only as medieval/fantasy!
Thanks everyone for keeping the thread alive until I return with something new. :smile.gif:
Anyways, I'd better get back and stoke the family boiler...

I'm going to put it in my game right now!!

Your architecture is pretty awesome. Keep up the good work.
