HOLY CRAPOLI Gestankfaust...I remember a long time ago, you and I spoke about making a ghast...I do say good sir...you have out done yourself!
Thanks Pipe. I remember us talking about it ages ago. Can't believe that no one has done one still though.
Oh and...when you guys update, I can get on and build. If only to go on PipeWorld (I updated already. First thing I did when 1.6.4 came out...as usual :biggrin.gif:)

When PipeWorld updates to 1.6.x, I will post it in this thread since the PipeWorld forums died after I accidently deleted the database with no backup!
Awesome texture pack :smile.gif: I like this one, everything feels very mechanical & Steampunk-like although I'm still trying to get used to what some of the objects are. Its a shame Minecraft doesn't have an identify feature before you mine/use something
The cobblestones & sandstones look very nice making it easier to design more eye-pleasing buildings. Unfortunately the pack ruins my giant Zelda mural but only because my art wasn't based around these textures - so that's my fault :tongue.gif:
I love the torches, they give off a nice vibe & make everything look more professional rather than medieval with annoying flame animation
I hope The_Fool76 up date his The_Fool76's Texture Mix Machine soon can't what to do some really cool stuff.
I will do that today. :smile.gif:
I Just got done with a 3 day weekend (It was Memorial Day here in the States) which is why I've not been around since Friday. (Pig Roast > Minecraft ever single time :wink.gif: )
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Tis far better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit.
Do we need to do anything cept to tell you that our terrains are 1.6.6 compatible?
I hear poking me with a stick helps sometimes. :wink.gif:
It's almost the start of a new month and I said I was going to work on Minecraft related things this month, so expect some improvements in how things are done. :smile.gif: (Mind you, one of the things I want to do is make my texture mixer obsolete. :dry.gif: But more on that later.)
In any case, I have both your Stankepack and Glimmar's Steampunk updated.

On mine it says Sanodia was 5,555 :PAs always Glimmar...you can use it however makes you happy. Just no chasing kittens with it. :iapprove:BTW - Did you notice the H R Giger pic in it?
I love H R Giger. First ever movie book I bought as a teenager was a book of his designs and I still have it somewhere. His work is more inkeeping with your Mythos theme than steampunk, with it's alien horror style, but the ghast is one of the scarier things in Minecraft in my opinion. It's only when i looked closer at your design I noticed the circle of arms, that made me shiver a bit.
Thanks for it's use mate. You have a talent for these mobs and I get the feeling they're the sort of things you enjoy doing. OK no frightening kittens with it, but you didn't say anything about cats! Right where's that cat that's been messing in my garden recently! :dry.gif:
Sorry Sanodia, I can't count! You have the unique post title number 5,555. In my defence I noticed my post count was 5556 after my last post and assumed PipeHead who was just before me was 5555. I'll have to look back now and see what other significant numbers have passed without ceremony. :smile.gif:

Thank you backslashio. :smile.gif:
It's usually quite a shock for anyone moving from a medieval fantasy style pack, but great for construction on a large scale, even though I say so myself, I obviously prefer it. :tongue.gif:
It's quite frustrating that as soon as you were able to get the texture pack out notch updated again..
As Proloe says, it won't have made any difference. Unless the fishing rod was changed in one of those updates, but that had already escaped me anyway. Texture packs only need updating if any of the texture graphics change. As none of them did between those quick updates (I assume) apart from MC Patcher possibly needing updating, the texture pack should be fine as is. Except for the tweaks I need to make to grass, goggles and fishing rod.
I will do that today. :smile.gif: I Just got done with a 3 day weekend (It was Memorial Day here in the States) which is why I've not been around since Friday. (Pig Roast > Minecraft ever single time :wink.gif: )
Mmmm :tongue.gif: Can't argue with that! :laugh.gif:
Nothing that us pack folks need to worry about. More bug fixes and now Bone Meal can be used on grass to grow tall grass + flowers.
That guy Notch is definately reading my posts (I wish). I was saying that just the other day, how it was a shame we couldn't move the new plants around! Oooo I love the idea of that, but not the fact that peaceful players like me will have to take on some skele's!
Here is something I did, an experiment in hand-drawing 2D pixel art directly into a Minecraft scene... with the Steampunk Pack of course :biggrin.gif: Sticking artistic tiles all over the ore blocks and whatnot. Also changed the torches to orange, just a preference. The actual world I am building is Silk Road themed, based on the Tocharian culture.
Be sure to Full View since the people are at 1:1 pixel resolution.
I am thinking of doing a webcomic in this style... since I love pixeling people but hate pixeling backgrounds... but building them in MC is enjoyable, zen-like...
I love H R Giger. First ever movie book I bought as a teenager was a book of his designs and I still have it somewhere...
Pipe, would you like me to put the details of PipeWorld up in the OP, or do you want it to be low profile?
OMG...the Alien scared the crap right out of me...of course I was like 9 when I saw it but the H R Giger imagery left it's mark on my psyche ever since.
No, PipeWorld can stay on the down low for now...maybe some day I'll be able to afford a 'real' server and then we can go full monty!
Hey Glimmar, I've been using your image-set for a long long time now, but I had the strong feeling that there was a lack of decorative paintings. Thus I made a small selection myself. These paintings fit perfectly in a gloomy cave or victorian mansion, and I selected them on base of class, image and atmosphere.
Actually, saying that I selected all of them myself would be a lie, I started by reading chapter 6 of A Rebours, and added the art mentioned in that book to the kz.png. After I added this small selection, I had about 30% of the paintings replaced, I replaced the other paintings to fit with these. Some painting contain nude, but that's purely in artistic fashion.
Most of them are from the victorian age, some of the reinaissance and a few are from before or after (4 of them are from after 2000), but all of them fit right in your texturepack. I wonder if you would like to include them in the extras.
If nessicary, I can include a list of creators.
P.S.
I'm a lurker, I made this account for the sole function of informing you and others of my paintingspack.
P.P.S.
The book mentioned above (A Rebours) is about artifice over nature and creating your own little world. It inspired Oscar Wilde and laid the base of the Decadent movement, wich is the philosophical prototype for SteamPunk. The book's context fits rather well with the very idea of steampunk and the concept of minecraft.

Why? It didn't make the texture pack incompatible.

Fun fact of the day; now you only have to Google 'glimmar' and the top result as well as most of the 1st page results are this texture pack.
You're famous!!! :biggrin.gif:
BTW for the interested methinks I'll update my alternate terrain shortly...
