Glimmar, it just occurred to me; would you like me to post up the modified texture pack from Steamcraft? I had to make a few changes to the initial texture pack for it to run properly (such as change the torch colour), without adding any of the Steamcraft textures. Should I post that here?
Here you go!(If anything's messing up thanks to the host, direct image saving from the site should do the trick)We were talking shortly after the weather update, and were hoping to find Notch had added altitude based objects attracting lightning. The intention was to somehow get a pig up there and wait for lightning to strike.
Thanks, mate. That's cool of you to share and it will carry your name in the 'extras' folder for as long as I run that facility and thereafter in any other way I use it.
Haha! I think a lot of folk were hoping somehow to control the lightning. Love (but how wrong and yet so right!) the idea re: the sacrificial pig. Poor pig! :sad.gif:
Your encouragement is very much appreciated. As we get to update time I find comments like you've given do help in the enthusiasm department, as it does take quite a bit of my spare time to keep up. Also glad to know when things seem quiet, a few are still getting some use out of it.
Don't forget to show us any ingenious or epic builds. :smile.gif:

By all means, mate. If you have a banner code I could use, I'll stick that along with it in my OP, then folk will understand better where to get the latest version of 'SteamCraft' and any special instructions, so as not to cause confusion...although with the banner, etc, linking to your thread, folk should know what to do with it.
I'm sorry, I've not been over to your thread recently, so I'm not aware of the latest changes, but bearing in mind the conversation with 'Korstmahler' above, have you any plans for harnassing lightning? :wink.gif:
on a fresh, clean re-install of Minecraft, I installed your texture pack.
Then, after I install Risugami's ModLoader, the dirt textures in my world get screwed up! they change from their dark brown soil-like texture to dark grey smooth-stone-like texture.
pics: before

could you fix this or something?
EDIT: Fixed. Thank you captainlepper, Glimmar, and zedas.
hey i have a big problem. The texture pack (together with the patcher) install fine and everything runs smoothly and greatly. But then, I install ModLoader (just modloader, no other mod) using TFC Mod Manager (with or without, I don't think it makes any difference) and suddenly like half the grassy dirt blocks in my world change color and texture from what they normally look like to this dark grey cement-like color (almost looks like smooth stone in vanilla minecraft). How do I fix this?
Yep. Solution...as captain says above. There's a known incompatability between the BetterGrass option in MC Patcher and ModLoader. I got this last week when I played around with the Piston mod which required ModLoader. My BetterGrass suddenly went grey. :sad.gif:
This is easily solved. Put ModLoader into the jar first, then run mcpatcher second. The shared class file is patched as opposed to overwritten this way. Bettergrass will work and ModLoader will function correctly. Try it, I kid you not. I take payment for services rendered in baked goods. I like my pies & tarts prompt now, mind.

I will bake some pies immediately for you! :wink.gif: That's wonderful news...now I can have my BetterGrass and eat ModLoader! :blink.gif: Sorry somewhat mixed up my idioms there. It was the talk of pies that did it! :biggrin.gif: (why is there no steaming pie emote?)
I was amazed at the detail you put into it when I first opened it. Great job :smile.gif:
Many thanks, 'Ponk582'...and may I be the first to welcome you to the forums. :smile.gif: Unless that is, you're one of many who have been unfortunate enough to have had to rejoin. :sad.gif:
So I guess you are all reading and taking in the fixes and changes in Notches 'Changelist', posted in advance of his update this week. A very impressive list indeed.
After a cursory glance through, I note the following will effect the pack by way of new graphics/textures:
Added craftable maps
Added hatches
Added tall grass in some biomes
If you see something I've missed, I'd appreciate you pointing it out!
Well you can get a head start on the grass at least. _Jeb tweeted that it's going to be the tile below the gold block and will be grayscale for biome coloration. I haven't seen any word on the hatches which are the only other one that I'm really concerned about. (I expect maps to have their own image files so they shouldn't break packs, just look out of place for a while.)

Yes, the maps are probably going to be the thing to concentrate on, graphicalwise.
I posted in the WildGrass thread asking EJHopkins how the new TallGrass would be effecting his mod. I had no idea at that stage it was just one tile. I'd even thought for a while that perhaps Notch had absorbed EJ's mod as he did with MrMessiah's lighting mod. So no growth or anything subtle like that? Oh well, at least that will mean a little less work than redoing the entire WildGrass textures (though i still intend doing that sometime).
Don't you think the hatch will just be a simple flat wooden rectangle like the pressure plate?
I'm not sure how the new map will scale for HD, but I want to have a good play with it to see what the possibilities are. Should be fun, especially if I'm right in thinking we'll be able to stick 'em up on the wall!
I wouldn't be surprised if the hatches are based off the lower half of the wooden door texture, or something like that.
The map will probably appear on the items.png, which means we'll want to update those ASAP - otherwise they may not show up (much like the beds did in 1.3 and the cookies in 1.4).
All in all, I don't think it will take long to get things updated once 1.6 arrives.

Ah yes, didn't think of the door as a possibility and hadn't thought of the map needing an icon on the items sheet.
Did you see the 1.6 preview vid on the Minecraft forum home page? I was trying to work out if there was any variation in the height of the TallGrass, but my findings were inconclusive. Lol! I'm also not sure from that vid if the recepe was just fictional or what would actually be in the game...a compass surrounded by paper?
I'm gonna have so much to do when I get back to working on my pack packs
:unsure.gif:
Howdy, mate!
Make sure to keep it fun though. You need to relax if you've had a busy schedule in real life. If you're like me Faust, even when I'm busy away from the computer, Minecraft possibilities and textures haunt my waking and sometimes unconcious thoughts. I needs to get me to a doc quick!!! :blink.gif:

:tongue.gif:
I tried a few times to send you a PM, but it says you can't accept any more. Long story short, and without airing too much dirty laundry, I've had to move out until the other people move. They were kind of threatening...if you know what I mean.
Yeah...no joke. I have my computer, but I'm kinda too shaky and stuff....

Awesome, Well done. Remeber on Fools texture pack I was saying his was creative, and I liked that? You agreed, well I clicked your sig, and I love this one! I love how you changed red stone wire to pipe stuff, and you make 32x look like 64x. You make use of every pixle. Well done, I must say.

Making a video game mod for minecraft. Going great. The idea? blocks when clicked open up a minigame that rewards you with ores and such based on your ingame score. Almost finished with beta version, which features a very basic pong game.
Havent commented on this forum for a while :tongue.gif: But you never disappoint me Glimmar! I cant wait for the armor haha. Im not sure what to think of the default skin tho :/ it creeps me out... Anyways, just popping by before i get back to playing Terraria. Im addicted to that game!
O, and by the way, would anybody happen to know of an unknown seed map that looks awesome(on minecraft)? I try to find them myself, but ive had no luck... And i dont want "Glacier" cause everyone knows that already haah
Edit: Thanks for putting my video on the forum! I appreciate it!

Try "iamnew" or "chinatown"
Edit - Try this program also. It's called Mineseeder. It will give you a string on any save you have which you can share with others who use the program. With the string, you can seed a new game. It wont generate buildings or anything, but it generates the exact world brand new but the spawn will be where the game was saved.
Here's a string to a great world that I forgot the seed to: [wb/TaPvSDd3YVytlZ2dsby4gZWE+dGVyzpqYmGL2aOO9UvG1]
This looks simply amazing! Good job!
