I think I see your problem. IE tends to be really flaky when it comes to fancier scripting due to it's poor standards support. The newer versions are better about it though so I strongly suggest upgrading if it's older than 8. What version of IE do you have and how adverse are you to changing to a more standards compliant browser? (Chrome, Opera, Safari, FireFox)
Haha! Just recently (as in 2 months ago) got new hi-end machine with windows 7 and immediately upgraded to Internet Explorer 9. Surprisingly have loved version 9, but my wife hates it on her slower laptop. I'm a die-hard IE user, too old to change now, mate. Lol! I'd love to know what, if anything could be done about it. On top of new OP, new forums, new update, new computer, new operating system, old brain...I'd hate to have to change to a different browser too! :sad.gif:
I appreciate you and everyone trying to help, because I can't see anything on the forum, or Google, re: MultiQuote, Minecraft Forums, IE. etc. and have painstakingly tried everything as mentioned above. Surely there are many others using IE9, Win7 and New Minecraft Forums. Unless it's something else. Perhaps the mods are just trying to curtail my waffle! Lol! :biggrin.gif:

Could just be that not enough people have tried using the multi-quote option on that particular browser/os combo for there to be any real complaints about it yet. I suggest running it up the flagpole over in the Forum Discussion area and see if you can get any more info/help there.
I'll have to see about running it past IE9 when I get home tonight and see if I can spot any issues if nothing else has turned up before then.

Any advice about how to get the youtube codes to work. The commands are the same that the code is wrapped up in, but it has no effect for me. I need to look at a few other threads and see if my experience is an isolated one.
[edit] Got the Youtube vids fixed! Sorting the OP out step by step. Slow process and a shame everything else is taking a backseat.
i dont need that much room, in fact i dont even need 100 block height.
heres the specs of the ship.
Length: 713.9' (217.6m)
Height: 321.2' (97.9m)
Beam: 406.8' (124m, not including cutters)
Hull Width: 221.1' (67.4m)
Full Load Displacement: Unknown
Powerplant: Lift Claudia Unit and Thrust Claudia Unit
Maximum Speed: 151.1kt
Maximum Armor: 356mm (on broadsides)
Armament:
1 x 32" (813mm) Quad-mount torpedo-style jet-propelled mine launch tube
1 x 32" (813mm) fixed, single-mount launch tube
6 x 11.8" (300mm) 25 cal guns
Crew Complement: 810 + 200 musketeers
Vanship Lift: 1
Equipped Aircraft: 1x jumbo shuttle vanship
so in fact i can build it without the use of height increasing mods. i just need to make some room XD
Yeah, specs are nice and all, but having built a number of rather large vessels...I find that attempting to do a 1 to 1 conversion is not only too limiting, but also doesn't look or play well.
I usually work off of just one measurement...take for instance a blimp or dirigible. I'll calculate the diameter(or radius) of the blimp and all other measurements are simply ratios of that one. So, I guesstimate that the blimp is say 20 blocks in diameter and the length is approximately 5 times the diameter, my blimp length will roughly be 100 blocks. That gets me close and then its a matter of what feels right and looks best. Height is usually the bigger concern given the MC limitations...I generally use either 4 blocks per floor for residential/commercial applications or 3 block per floor for military(room is a premium). Gauging how high the object will be overall is of course vitally important.
I can't wait to see the ship built...post progress pics often!

It's now the media button (looks like three Polaroids, last on the left, second row down)
:tongue.gif:
That's really peculiar. I just looked at someone else's vid and saw the 'http://youtu.be/' before the Youtube code, but without the 'media' command fore and aft and it worked for me in the OP. It seems the 'media' codes aren't actually needed, although they'll be imprinted either side if you use the media button. Take a look at this comment and see I've removed the codes, just left the all important address 'http://youtu.be/' at the beginning and your vid still displays. :smile.gif:
Now if you could just sort this 'MultiQuote' button for me. I could reply to more than one of you at a time without resorting to hard work! :tongue.gif:
I hate to say this, but MultiQuote works flawlessly with Firefux 4.x
Looks like that support thread was closed within 10 minutes to avoid a "Browser War". But the mod did say they would be working on it, so… fingers crossed.
Oh, and Multiquote works fine with Firefox 3.x as well.

I know...I wrote a nasty gram to LightWarrior...it's apparent he/she's a 12 year old or something. Unbelievable he/she would close down a thread about trying to find a fix for a browser incompatability because he/she doesn't want a browser war! MY GOD, what an idiot. A problem I might add due to a decision and migration that was obviously not clearly thought out nor thoroughly tested. HELLO, McFly...is anyone home!? This is computer stuff...testing, testing, testing and then test again...that is the mantra!
Can shut down my thread which was a legitimate request for help and yet takes forever to shut down threads with clear Copyright violations!
Needless to say I'm pissed off...and not because I use IE9...which I don't...but having run a large forum in the past...to summarily close down a thread like that is retarded.

Eh, I can understand why it was locked. In the past browser issues have resulted in massively long flame wars with the real posts being lost in the trolling. It's not like you can't PM them with any more information you find out.
I've started hanging out in the forum IRC channel recently so when I do get round to doing my own IE9 testing I'll probably just abuse the admin staff there. :wink.gif:
Anyway I think that's probably enough off-topic discussion here.

Ah! You're all trying to help and I'm very grateful. Thanks everyone!
I've got most of the OP sorted now, but if you look at the bottom, I'm having trouble with text size. Whichever way i try to enclose text within the size commands, it just won't work properly. I've tried to find a rogue command somewhere in my text that's causing the problem to shuffle along up the OP (causing disastrous text and 'bold' changes as it goes) and just can't see what's doing it.
I do most of my editing in a rich test document and then transfer over to the post box editor, but the rest of my huge OP worked fine, just those last few paragraphs.
Like all things new...some things I like and some things I don't. Having got used to the old system I'm finding this one overly complicated and way slower than before. Anyway, I've had enough for today.
Aha! I have the answer to making multi-quote work!
In IE9 there is a little icon in the location bar that looks like a torn piece of paper, click that and multi-quote will magically start working.
I suspect what is going on is that there is a work-around for IE in the code for some of the problems with prior versions of IE and it's causing problems for 9. Clicking that icon turns on 'compatability mode' which I assume just means it uses the older render.

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick - not only for the multiquote issue but for the dropdown under the username at the top.
Odd that a brand new site would need to be run in compatibility mode on a brand new browser, but that just reinforces what PipeHead said. And, like Glimmar, I'm too old to go changing how I do things now. :smile.gif:

OMG! I finally picked up Minecraft! I had to quit 3/4 of the way through the night though, because I was completely terrified by the sounds outside the little shelter I built. LOL! I didn't know how to build anything, so I was sitting in complete darkness hearing creepy sounds outside. Hahahhaha! Wow this game is so immersive. I'm afraid I just killed all of the productivity I had towards my other projects now LOL!

You're a genius! I knew if anyone was going to get to the bottom of it, it would be you. Thanks so much, mate. It works a treat now, as you can see from this post. Still took me ten minutes to spot the torn sheet icon! Lol! It's probably all in the mind, but it seems to run faster now.

Perhaps we should form 'The Minecraft Veteran's Association'. Lol! I'd feel very comfortable joining, except it kind of gives the impression members have to have been in some sort of conflict in Minecraft, and I've only ever seen one creeper ingame and two seconds later I'd hit the 'peaceful' button! :laugh.gif:
As you say though, it does seem a bit daft having to hit a compat button from a new browser with a new forum.

Haha! We've all been in that situation at the start. I think that's the magic of Minecraft that takes grip and drags you kicking and screaming into infinity. I did exactly the same my first night in Minecraft. Built a hole in panic without any windows and then probably sat shivering, scared of the noises, until the next night, because I had no idea when morning had come around, but I was hooked on the possibilities. I'd just come to Minecraft from a less famous free survival game called 'Stranded II' and it was a breath of fresh air, though no disrespect to SII which was excellent, but it never realised it's awesome potential.
Good to hear from you again, Josh. I hope everything is going well with the band, etc.

I would have NEVER and I do mean NEVER have guessed that "" was a valid link to a http://www.youtube.com video.
