This would be great if it wasn't outdated... you should get to work on the Halloween stuff next.
It's not eactly hard to add the hell textures in yourself temporarily.
It's been 1 day. He's probably got other stuff to do in his life.
If you really cant wait to be able to use this then feel free to use my botched together version with the hell textures upsized to 32x32 and added in thats posted on the previous page. It will make the Kell section just look pretty much like normal 16x16 minecraft.
Hi folks.
Just a quick note!
Sorry I won't have time to work on an update for the next 24 hours. Every year here I put on a big Halloween party/event for kids in the neighbourhood and I'm committed to that at the moment and behind schedule!
As soon as I can, I will get to work on the new textures...when I understand what's going on! Very late last night I thought I'd be clever and do a quick update by just resizing the new hell textures. However, immediately noticed grass and foliage was different and my Obsidian portal wouldn't animate (just my pink texture background). Also hell was full of water and everything seemed wrong about it and my precious diamond block had the same top face all round!
Just looking on the mapping/modding section now and I'm a little less in the dark. I think xua has a temporary HD fix, though some are experiencing problems with it. If anyone could explain what all the changes are and how they effect HD textures, it would help everyone, and me personally to quickly update things when I return.

Just chipping in here as a lover of this texture with a quick fix for halloween.
http://www.mediafire.com/?labi41nk2155o9y
I have used the origional hell textures, rescaled them and smoothed them a bit and inserted them (They might look a tiny bit blurry but it's just a quick fix. Also I have desaturated the grass to work with the new system.
Remember to go to the hotfix thread and download the new 1.1.7 exe or after applying textures your mc will crash.
NOTE: *This is just a temporary fix, I am in no way here to take glimmar's work.*
I'll be waiting to see what Glimmar comes up with for his hell textures. This should be damn good.
EDIT: Forgot this one has a couple of personal mods in too. Sorry bout that :B Smooth stone has simply been colour adjusted to grey-blue (Just desaturate and adjust colour to +6 yellow +2 green for a closest approx of origional colours) and diamond block is replaced with a blue coloured restyling of iron (You might have to get the orig. pack to replace it).
Here is a temporary fix you could try, and I'm very grateful to 'theysaywhatnow' for this, haven't the time now to try it out. If there are problems and anyone else has a fix and explanation to get it working, please fell free to post it here...you'd have my gratitude for explaining it to my feeble mind too.
Thanks for the pics everyone. It's helped me see that there are definately problems with my stone, sand and gravel and without a doubt my cobble! I'll be working on those along with the hell blocks! Thanks for your patience and support. :smile.gif:
Feedback! The only thing I don't like is the stone being too light.
Besides that the whole thing is good.
If you don't change it I will send 1,000,000 's to invade and destroy your base no matter where it is.
If you do it I will give you these!
As far as I can tell, trying out a few different packs, it seems the stripes in the Nether portals are an issue with the HD packs and the HD fix not quite getting them scaled correctly.
Just like in WoW we have mods/addons broken on patch day and takes a bit to get them working again.
The watch is broken due to an error with the item lists + HD patch. It aligns the watch with the top of the diamond pick due to lack of placement knowledge prior to release. There will probably be an update for the HD patch later to fix it.
The portal bars are a simple problem. The textures for them are kept in a seperate file due to the animations. The HD patch doesn't resize the image for it atm but Shifts the face placement for the blocks so you get to see 16x16 bars :B. When a 32x32 tex comes out for the portal opening and 2 variables are changed via the HD patch it will all be sorted.
My Temporary fix is simply a couple of replacement textures so that when you go into hell it doesn't show all the blocks as transparent or bright pink and/or crash to desktop. If you open up the zip. open terrain you can see the placement of the new textures, feel free to mess with them until glim gets his stuff done. I'v already updated mine a bit to make it seem slightly more steampunky :B
As for the grass and foliage. There is a fix for those but It disables the biome colour changing completely. It's a simple matter of making the two gradients used for overlay on the grass/leaves completely transparent. Until notch himself fixes the side blocks of grass we cant do much about the mismatching tops.

This is useful info, 'theysay'. I've Just a few minutes to look in and you are helping me to understand things a little better. Thanks again for stepping in and giving folks something to use.
When i've got my inspiration cap on and started on the 'Nether' blocks, could I include your glass and stone variations in my little library on the terrain.png file? I will soon run out of space eventually, because I'll just keep adding ideas as they come to me. In which case I'll just make up a second sheet for storing all Steampunkesque textures for everyone to use as they see fit. There are a few 'mix & match' editors out there which allow you to assemble your own texture packs, but I haven't the time just now to give links. I'm sure someone can give some pointers.
I'm quite busy at the moment on other things, but will soon upload something new. It's probably not a bad thing delaying slightly, for the HD fix to sort things out, but I apologise for not being free just now. :sad.gif:
You don't seem to have installed the "particles.png" file into the minecraft.jar, hence the yellow/orange flames coming out of the torches. Probably intentional on your part, but just thought I'd point it out in case! :smile.gif:
I'm really, really happy with this pack so far. It was well worth the wait!
The only question I have: Am I the only one that had to lighten up the terrain.png a bit just to feel like I wasn't wandering around at dusk all day? I like the oppressive, smoggy feel, but I was having a hard time adjusting my eyes to it. Especially in areas only lit by torches.
Just my 2c, not at all a suggestion to change anything! I can fix my own hangups! :smile.gif:

I've been following this pack for a few weeks now, and (for once) the release was everything I'd hoped it would be. Really, this is great stuff--easily the highest quality (in terms of artistic achievement, not pixels) texture pack out right now, imo.
It inspired me to abandon my 2 month old save and start out new with an entirely different theme. I'm loving my new minecart station: http://necramar.imgur.com/L469K/wOeFb
Anyway, don't get discouraged by all the impatient folks! Take as long as you need on the new textures. I'm happy to wait for excellence!!
Necramar: Thanks for that. My approach is quite slow and considered I'm afraid, so no hasty updates, real life doesn't allow it, unfortunately. I love Minecraft to bits, I've lots of ideas and intend to continue to add textures to this theme for a long time to come, however, my freetime is very limited at the moment and due to trying to rush things out before the update, I put a lot of personal stuff on hold, which now needs some attention. As and when a texture gets finished I'll feature it and add to an update. I'm just working on my version of the pumpkin now!
Tiger4Ruler: Awesome videos. I'll put this one at the top of the thread if I may. If you'd rather I didn't, just let me know. Many thanks. I know some don't like the glass, but seeing it on mass like that put me in mind of geodesic domes and in particular the foyer of the British Museum. I'm looking forward to someone showing what it looks like as part of an underwater base or scaffolding for an airship landing pad - that sort of thing. I've not had time yet to truly experiment with the effects of some of my textures, and seeing them in someone else's world like this allows me to be a bit more critical of those that don't work so well and relax over those that do.
I'm not asking this to rush you at all, just out of pure 100% curiosity.....
Do you intend to do GUI or Armor or Item re-textures for this pack?
If my interest doesn't wain (and I can't imagine it will at the mo') then I'd love to do the whole thing! Assuming I can figure where everything goes before Notch does his next big update. There's a Steampunk analogue for everything, but I try not to be too way out. For me Steampunk has to be believable and not just sticking cogs and valves on everything right left and centre. However, I'm seriously considering making the hollowed out pumpkin lantern something sinisterly mechanical, as pumpkins don't look natural in the landscape anyway.
Frustratingly I'm just very stuck for time right now! :sad.gif:
