Maybe someone else already asked this but... Where and how do you place the icon for the steamboat? Can you tell me which folder and if I need to rename it? Thanks in advance :biggrin.gif:
I just have one question, what is the brick supposed to be? I am not judging but I would like to know where the idea came from. Also do you have any other texture packs?
I am always looking for other bands to help so I'll see how Abney Park does for my spark!
Pipe?!?!
Dontcha never bemember nuffin?!?!
Sorry G...I did forget...that's what old age gets you!
Hey, since you are the master animator...which should NOT be confused with your other title master baiter...sorry, feeling in a sophmorically humorous mood...it might be a tumor...anyways, since you are king of things moving in minecraft...have you created custom animated fire for use with the new MCPatcher? Cause that would be the bee's knees!!!
And since your computer is not as functional as it used to be...what piece of hardware is your biggest enemy at the moment?

What's up with the brick, mate? :smile.gif: Has it got fire on it? If it has, that's not intentional I'm afraid. It means you haven't used the obligatory 'MC Patcher' by kahr that is necessary for all texture packs whose resolution is greater than 16x16.
In case you haven't read it, here's probably the most important part of the installation instructions, just underneath the download link.

3. VERY IMPORTANT! To fix Graphical Glitches inherent in MInecraft when using HD textures, you are advised to use kahr's new improved beta "MC Patcher HD Fix" programme by xau MC Patcher HD Fix. There are clear instructions in kahr's thread on how to use the new patcher. :smile.gif:[/size]
The Patcher is necessary, because Notch refuses to support HD textures. The Patcher also fixes many other glitches too. :smile.gif:
Again, I could be misunderstanding you and you could just absolutely hate my bricks, though I don't think they're that bad! Lol!
Other texture packs? No, Im afraid, this one is killing me enough!
Does anyone know how to make your skin into the default skin? I usually like my own skin more, but in a 32x32 world I'd rather use that hardworking gentleman that is included with this extraordinary texture pack.
The only way I can get it to show up, is to play off-line. So don't use your password, then when it fails to login, select 'Play offline', then you'll see the HD Victorian gentleman...well at least you'll see the back of him in 3rd person perspective and front on in the inventory. :smile.gif:

Just upload the skin to your Profile.
And I mean the skin that is included in this wonderfull pack of course
Otherwise there's always a default skin at the palce where you change your skin.
And there's this too! Thanks Scaipy. Now I know what to do too!

I do have it started. Both regular fire and for Mythos. It's probably the hardest to make it look really good and realistic. Haven't had the time to try more though.
As to the other question, still the video card. Runs out of memory now (black screens, and that video error i told you about where I hafta cut the videos in half now). Other than that...just my shaky nerves

Have you downloaded the latest paddle steamer mod yet from pchan3's thread? If you have, the appropriately sized icon, 32x32 and the HD steamboat skin should both be in the mod, If not I have them in my 'extras' download. The icon goes in the 'gui' folder and the HD skin goes in the 'item' folder, both found in the minecraft.jar. You may need to read the mod 'readme' in case pchan has changed something since I last used it. I tend to only use the airship now, for fast direct travel. :smile.gif:
Glimmar, have you ever thought of creating an official Steampunk server? Or is there already something like that?
I've never had the time, but pchan3 who created the airship mod (which I skinned) did. Here's the link that's got slightly buried in my OP:
SteamCraft Website If you want to get your hands on more Minecraft Steampunk goodness visit pchan3's: SteamCraft Forum and find out what other mods, pics, ideas are being mused over. :smile.gif:
I think he's away for some time though, so things are a little quiet. :sad.gif:

I believe he was referring to a SMP server. However… we could probably suggest that on the SteamCraft server. Problem is, getting a host for it. May be able to run it on the same server as the forums, but that would suck the bandwidth dry, and Pchan needs help keeping it running as is.

But that way you are really using the default skin rather than having no skins (If you catch what i mean)
So, you could just leave the space emtpy and then press 'upload image', I'm pretty sure that that will remove your current skin.
I don't think the online bit accepts skins that are larger than standard resolution… and the Steampunk gentleman is much larger than standard. However, they may have changed it in the past few months, so I'm not entirely sure. Only way I know for sure is what Glimmar said, replace the normal mod skin and play offline.

I need help, I had to make my own wool, since the alt texture pack didnt have white, gray and black. (That and that the texture mixer didnt work for me) So I did and was happy with the results. Until... The water isnt transparent anymore, everything that isnt fully transparent or fully non-transparent is now fully non-transparent. What do I do?
I fixed it, I just downloaded the original glimmar terrain.png and opened it up in gimp and the I ctrl+c & ctrl+v it into my custom version.
Yeah, don't use MS Paint, as it doesn't allow for transparencies. You have to use GIMP, Paint.net, or Photoshop.
Hello, excuse me if the request has already been asked, but is it possible to make your texture pack in 64x64? Because it is really beautiful but it hurts my eyes like all pack 32X32. Thank you for your reply.
A fan.
It has been asked and the answer is no because of his lack of the time it would take to do so. Personally I suggest just playing with the pack for a few hours, you will get used to it even if it does look off at first. (I think it took me about a day before I got used to the 16x resolution on the original textures back when I first started playing Minecraft.)

Ok thank you for your reply, I have no problem to play 16X16, only with the texture pack 32X32 ... Too bad.
Beautiful work in all cases Glimmar, I hope someday we can have it in 64x64^^.
I do believe that someone was working on a 16x conversion (I think it was Gestankfaust). Not sure where he's at on it tho. You may want to look into it.
As regards the online use of my HD Steampunk character: Yep, no way that I could find to get the profile online to accept anything other than the standard size...it actually says that on the profile page too. I googled it and apparently Notch once said he would be against anything other than standard size, because someone might be tempted to upload less than respectably clothed pics. Lol! Now we know why Minecraft is all blocky.
Of course you were right about the steampunk 'server', ksheep. I dropped my monacle when reading that post and simply thought 'website'!

Graphics go in the items folder, replacing the current bed. The icon needs to be edited onto the "items" sheet, using Photoshop or GIMP.
