I've got a problem with the Texture pack- Netherrack looks like a blue block with flowing lines, gold blocks have the top right corner missing, and is replaced with fire, and Brick Blocks are a quarter fire, a quarter portal, and 1 half brick.
Use the HD Texture Patcher. Should fix up your problems. You need to use the HD Patcher for any texture packs with a resolution above 16x16.
IM GOING TO MKE A 256x256 texturepak by using my nikon D90
nikon D90 is a very good camera!
edit: im going to this place so i can make the sand textures!
this place is only 3 km away from where i live and this is in NORWAY! (some of you may say: "what? thats not in norway! norway is a cold and snowfilled place" hehe.)
Lol! Now your showing off about that camera. I'm a Cannon man! :biggrin.gif:
And that pic looks like a place just 10 miles from where I live. I didn't know I lived in Norway!!
i didnt take that picture or any other pictres in this post
but lets forget about the camera and talk about the textures!
things i have for my terrain png:
sand
gravel
cobblestone
mossycobblestone
metal block
goldblock
diamond block
things i dont have:
ores and other stuff.
i dont knw where i cand fing metal ores, redstoneores and the others.
i found some clear crystals when i was 9 years old!(im not kidding now)
i found the crystals in a small wall of stone(natural stone wall on a small mountain)
the crystal will be diamond ore.(theres only one problem: WHERE DID MY CRYSTALS GO? )
i found some of this:
in the crystal area too(there was miners that had a mine some km's away from where i lived when i was 9 but the mine was "offline" since many years before i was born)
i dont know what you call it but they call it "svovelkis" in norway.(its like gold, but much more worthless)
ok, i cant talk about all the cool stones i have found(and lost)
I live in Australia (Melbourne to be precise) and I need to travel further than either of you to get a GOOD beach...
(the one right in Melbourne isn't very good, well, at least not by Australian standards... :tongue.gif:)
Oh and Glimmar, great work on the steampunk character! He looks awesome and suits the pack very, very well!
I especially love the mustache!
The OP is also a lot cleaner and easier to navigate now. (Funny how cleaning up manages to follow you into the virtual world as well. You can't escape it! :tongue.gif:)
Thanks for the mention too!
Thanks, XSSheep. Lol! I need to stop jumping into these debates and get some work done.

The attention to detail in this pack is just phenomenal, it looked more like a 64x to me at first. Initially downloaded this for my bf to play on (who thinks your wolves are brilliant by the way) and found myself playing with it too.
Thank you, Amalah. I appreciate you taking the time to give encouragement. :smile.gif:

I'M SO SAD! I can't seem to get this, my FAVORITE texture so far, to work with toomanyitems! It will work before MCpatcher, but not after, like I get a black screen opening my inventory, and if I use MC patcher first and then install TMI over the top, I get a black screen before the game even loads. If anyone had this same problem and was able to fix it, that would be GREAT!
I'm not sure what the problem is there. :sad.gif:
I did use 'toomanyitems' when I needed to display some new textures it would have been difficult to display on the surface, and found it to work fine with my pack, but that was pre 1.5_01, so I couldn't be sure any edits I've made to the pack would cause probelms. However, it's pretty unlikely that anything in my pack (just a bunch of .png files like any other HD pack) would cause problems. Can anyone else who uses toomanyitems with my pack and use of MC Patcher confirm this?
Just a silly thought, but I take it your using the latest MC Patcher by kahr, not xau? Hope you can get this resolved soon. :sad.gif:
@ ksheep and d95: I'm obviously outnumbered by N.... (better not advertise them anymore than necessary! Lol) so I'll withdraw now. ...but that's good advice on the tiling, ksheep.
@ d95: Those crystals look to me like 'Fools Gold' as we call it here in the UK, or iron pyrite, an iron sulfide with the formula FeS2.

I will definitely try this texture pack!! :biggrin.gif: It looks so SWEET!.. Cant wait to try it, but im on my school computer.. for you!! :tongue.gif:
Thanks, mate! Hope you get it working some time soon. :smile.gif:
It was incredibly fun going around and blowing things up with this skin on. The adventure I went on to find new things to blow up was a wonderful site.
WOW Glimm...I just looked over the OP after you cleaned it up...
It's like the 'Who's who of steampunk builders!' my god man...if you get any more pics and vids you're going to have to open your own gallery website just to host them all!
By the way, Foomanchoo's airshipport...is freakin AWESOME!!!!! Very interesting design and shape...completely off the hook crazy build skillz...mad in fact!
Anyways, I've got a surprise in store for all you steampunk addicts that will absolutely rock your steampunky little worlds....
Yes, I know you are used to good old Pipehead rocking your world...but this time...I've gone over the edge, fallen into the void and came back out again! Stay tuned for the largest airship to have ever graced the skies!

(*snip*)
Well the game runs fine up until I open my inventory if I patch it, so it might just be to much for my comp to handle. But Idk. I had this problem with the 1.2 MCPatcher version, but I have not tried it with the 2.0 version I definitely should.... cause I love this damn texture package.
As for the 1.4 vrs 1.5 I think it doesn't matter, as it happened pre 1.5 as well
*Edit* Oh god. Oh god oh god. OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD IT WORKS! *Jizzes into unconsciousness* Thanks for making me try again man! YOU ROCK!
Well, I hate to keep you waiting so here it is...now I can't release the schematic but I can offer you this sneak peak as this beauty is part of the New Horizon's world!
The opening bow shot of the Ophelia. The dimensions of this beast of the sky is truly awe inspiring. 319 blocks long, 59 blocks wide and 99 blocks high. I was the master builder with help from Erenstedt and a few pointers from Sephirothkane
Next up is a view of the aft starboard side. Since she is over 150 blocks long it is impossible to capture a good full side shot though I try further down. Note the 4 powerful engines driving triple counter-rotating props.
Somewhat high elevation shot of the previous.
Here's a close up shot of the triple counter-rotating props.
My attempt to capture the Ophelia in full...as with the other pictures, I had to photoshop the hell out them to get a better looking saturation and vibrance...sorry.
OMG, she's going to ram us...no just kidding...a straight on bow shot. Difficult not to be impressed!
Looking down upon the foredeck from the upper observatory high above the central superstructure.
A quick few steps to the rear of the top of the upper observatory and we get a nice view of the aftdeck.
Here is the inspiration for this build! I must give deep thanks to the artist ManiakS
Hey when i tried this with Industrial craft (mod) all the textures got messed up like furnace trees (leaves) and purple flooring is it posible to make it compatible?
Other wise this texture pack is one of the best :smile.gif: have this

Holy hot damn that is amazing. I am seriously jealous of your designing skills. Also, do you harvest all the materials for your creations in Pipeworld? I know this one may be an exception due to it's inclusion in New Horizons.
EDIT: Also reminds me of Last Exile. Awesome Steampunky anime, I'm not sure if it's been recommended on this thread before.
Also, upon looking that up again, a new serious is scheduled to come out this year. Sweet!

I'll assume you won't object, but will immediately remove them if you have a reason for them not being there.
I've looked at that original pic of the Ophelia many times and thought, 'I wonder when Pipehead is going to get round to making this'. It's at times like this, when you wish Minecraft's viewing distance could be extended somehow, at least for taking shots.
This is incredible and I feel very lucky to have guys like you, who have contributed pics of their builds, using my textures and inspiring others with such incredible visions. Hi, Ubernox. The pack is fully compatible with kahr's new 2.1 beta MC Patcher. Always has been...I use it all the time and I know others do to, and I have it tested on 3 computers here. It must be something else causing the problem, perhaps a mod, etc. Hope you get it fixed soon, mate. :smile.gif:

You've just made me think that, on top of my "Things to Build in a Steampunk World" in the OP, I ought to keep a list of Steampunk source material for inspiration, or at least links to one or two very good Steampunk websites, so long as I'm not contravening any forum rules. Anyone care to help in this regard, 'cos I don't want to get too distracted?
Thanks so much everyone for your continued support and interest! :smile.gif:
@Ubernox - dude good to see you are still around! PipeWorld is always open to you.
@Glimmar - just put a couple of the best shots under the New Horizons thing you got on the OP...we are building our little minecraft fingers to the bone to get the first installment released...Sephirothkane has a very grand plan and fantastic ideas which will really make this a treasure for all to experience.
@Trigonous - no, it would take forever to gather all that material by hand so it's VoxelSniper or WorldEdit for me. I'm not in to the whole survival aspect of minecraft. I was...don't get me wrong...but the joy that comes from building outweighs any survival gameplay...for me!

Thoughts shifting to and fro in the noggin, placing blocks, picking them up, laying them down again, shifting, sorting, moving out to look at the progress that brings me both joy and a deep sense of accomplishment.
I'm going to try and post a night shot or two...Erenstedt work hard to figure out how to light up every single gun and using a trick Gestankfaust showed me with indirect lighting(thx G)...the Ophelia is just as impressive after the sun goes now!

Our minds are in tune. It seemed the most logical thing to do, so I'd already put four of the pics underneath the 'Darkened Skies' banner and they look very awesome there. I look forward to the new nightime pics and anything else from Darkened Skies, sounds a great effort from all, expecially to Sephirothkane and yourself. Keep up the work, but don't burn yourself out!
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you guys know, I've finally started a 32x32 pack! It's a Shadow of the Colossus pack (one of my most favourite games, EVAR!) and yea! There isn't a thread up yet but I thought you guys might want to know.
Also wondering if I would be able to use a few of your alternate textures as a base? They would probably be unrecognizable by the time I finish with them, but if I release early I just want to make sure I have your permission. All credit would be given as appropriate too! :biggrin.gif:
XSSheep, sorry, I wasn't ignoring this, I've only just spotted it looking back through my thread for something else. By all means, mate with credit of course, though you of all people don't need to be reminded of that. My apologies for missing this post, it must have seemed like I was ignoring it on purpose, which was not the case. I'll PM this to you just in case you miss this too! :biggrin.gif:

Best of luck with the new pack.
Don't worry Glimmar, I assumed you just missed it :tongue.gif:
I actually feel more loved being replied to now when this post was several pages back! That's dedication for you!
Anyway, I've been working on the pack in relative secrecy and it is nowhere near done yet! I'll give credit to you if there are any of your blocks left in it before I finally make a thread. (although I am hoping to get all of the terrain finished before I do that! :tongue.gif:)
Thanks Glim!
The only packs that seem to work are the Dokucraft flavours - And that's just not steampunky enough :wink.gif:
Whenever I put the zipped file of Glim's pack into the texpack folder is shows up in minecraft, but it doesn't render - The icon just stays as the sepia minecraft landscape. I've tried waiting, and It just never seems to load. Any tips?
Also, have almost finished reading 20000 Leagues again - Such a classic. I think I shall read Journey to the Centre next...
EDIT: I'll post up pics of my Alchemy Tower later on today.
I look forward to the 'Alchemy Tower', Ubernox. :smile.gif:
As regards the problem with the pack not loading, that's a mystery. My son likes doku's stuff as well as other packs (he's such a traitor!) and is constantly switching back and forth and back to my pack when we work together and there doesn't seem to be a problem. So I'm at a loss, unless it's something curious, like the inclusion of different pixel sized mobs and my new 64 pix character causing problems with the Patcher. I can't think how it would for you and not for me and my son. ??
I've got both those stories on my Kindle at the moment, but not read them again, since last reading them when i was a kid, centuries ago! :smile.gif:
@ XSSheep: Haha! Look forward to seeing the pack when you feel ready to surprise us all with it!
Who needs Kindle when you've got Free Books on the iPad? :tongue.gif:
Haha! Who said I paid for mine? Mine were free too and perfectly legal. Got the entire collection of classic sci-fi books from Amazon and other legal public domain e-book websites, Lol. I use my Kindle every day and have only charged it twice since Christmas!
Anyway, bragging aside.
Took a break this afternoon and played around with the 'pistons' mod by Hippoplatimus Pistons...very cool! In the end I couldn't resist making my own texture for it from my alternates:
Glimmar's Steampunk Textures for Hippoplatimus' 'Piston' Mod
These are early prototypes as I'm still waiting to see what Notch will do with it when it becomes official, but for those of you who use my pack and like the pistons mod, you've now got something a little more in keeping with the grungy side of Steampunk:
piston and spiston mark 1
piston and spiston mark 2
piston and spiston mark 3
Choose whichever of the two textures above suits your fancy (I prefer the the mark 3 versions as depicted in the pics, as they're the grungy one's) copy and paste to the desktop and rename them to 'piston' and 'spiston' then replace the two little 16x16 piston and spiston .png files that come with the mod or replace the ones already placed in the minecraft.jar file when you installed the mod with these 32x32 versions.
When I get the chance I'll update the 'extras' download with these.
Have fun!

I'm going to try and post a night shot or two...Erenstedt work hard to figure out how to light up every single gun and using a trick Gestankfaust showed me with indirect lighting(thx G)...the Ophelia is just as impressive after the sun goes now!

Curse PremiumOur minds are in tune.

Curse PremiumXSSheep, sorry, I wasn't ignoring this, I've only just spotted it looking back through my thread for something else.

Curse PremiumDon't worry Glimmar, I assumed you just missed it :tongue.gif:
I actually feel more loved being replied to now when this post was several pages back! That's dedication for you!
Anyway, I've been working on the pack in relative secrecy and it is nowhere near done yet! I'll give credit to you if there are any of your blocks left in it before I finally make a thread. (although I am hoping to get all of the terrain finished before I do that! :tongue.gif:)
Thanks Glim!

Curse PremiumI look forward to the 'Alchemy Tower', Ubernox.
Holy shitballs, I can't believe you actually built that. Is it one the server right now? Or is it private.
Anyways, it reminds me of a "steampunked" version of Space Battleship Yamato

Curse PremiumHaha!
Have fun!
