Finished the first of the four corner domes, as well as a bit over a quarter of the main dome. Hoping to finish it up in the next couple days, once I'm done with exams, and I'm probably gonna submit it into the current Worth1000 Contest (Fortresses).

That's fantastic! I'm just trying to finish up on editing my OP and possibly doing a mini update. Would you mind if I put the above pic in my OP?

I guess it is ready to upload now..
what do you think?
That's very nice, dazqo. If I do a mini update soon, may I include your pig zombie in the pack temporarily (until I replace with my own), with due credit in the OP of course.

Lol! I get like that. Working during the day then at night isn't the best thing for your natural body clock. Nice work Tlos, may I include this update in the 'extras' folder when I update it? In any event many thanks for sharing here. :smile.gif:
I'd be happy if you would! In fact, you and anyone who wants can include my items anywhere. You have permission to update my items into extra as often as you would like. I'm not entirely sure as to why I was so tired. I'm used to staying up until 2/3 a.m. nightly, but yesterday I was dead tired a little past midnight.
I do like it...but it's eerily creepy due to its realism which I'm not used to in the minecraftian world. If that's the sort of detail capable now with a 64x skin...it opens up all kinds of possibilities!

Thanks guys: Tlos, ksheep, Pipehead and Gestankfaust. Lol! 'Cool as hell', I'll take as a compliment! :smile.gif: The character is also meant to represent a desperate individual who has built an empire alone against the odds, hence the rather manic expression. It is something of a metaphor for the overworked texture pack artist or late night Minecraftian! Lol.
Hopefully we'll all still be here when you've got the time, Faust. Hope all goes well whatever it is your doin'. :smile.gif:
Pipe....does Sheep's building style remind you of me? I couldn't help but notice that it looked like something I'd build.
D95 said something I loved on my thread...so I thought I'd share it here
Quote from d95 »
i should really try to blend steampunk and mythos!
i will be funny to see what it looks like.(im not going to share it as a texturepack!)
My reply was
I already am trying to do that. I use Mythos and Glimms and try to see what works together and what doesn't. So far...his is winning
:tongue.gif:
Heh, it does remind me somewhat of your snow castle! :biggrin.gif:
Great minds think alike, eh Gestank? I guess being 6 blocks from the limit doesn't really count as 'little' either... It's probably the biggest thing on my world at the moment too! :tongue.gif:
I think I might make a desert temple/fortress now! Gonna need a bunch of sandstone though!
My my, that moustache must've took a long while to groom!
Am I the only one who thinks he looks like an evil Abe Lincoln?
Lol! I'm not sure the evil Abe Lincoln look was what i was going for.
Come to think of it though, with the right armor attachments he could make a good evil villanous **** Dastardly kind of character. Mwahahahaha!
I reckon I perhaps need to work on a few alternate expressions soemtime (crazy, evil, saintly, etc.) contrary to my "This is how I like it" statement.

The tower looks great with this pack too!
I love towers like that! It's making me itch to do some tower building. Great building work all round XSSheep. Would you mind if I included the tower in my OP edit along with that amazingly atmospheric castle that Gestankfaust did?
Incidentally the OP and update got delayed 'cos I opened my big mouth again over in doku's 'ban remixes' sticky. Sorry folks! By which time I didn't feel much like contributing anything new. :sad.gif:
Feeling much better today though. Just taken delivery of a nice new portable 1Tbyte portable harddrive, so i can finally transfer the rest of my artwork, work etc. from the old machine. Nicely new working gadgets always bring a warm glow to my mood.

Thanks FefkuZ. Lava is good stuff when your steamwolf isn't busy leaping into it!! :smile.gif:
@Glimmar, it would be my honour for the picture to be included there! :smile.gif:
I was just looking at that thread too... it's starting to get a bit messy so I'm going to try not to get involved unless they really start spewing out rubbish >.>

Nor do I. I cannot believe how obstinate xsolar is - despite clear definition of the terms, regulations, and artists' rights, it's as if all he can do is stick his fingers in his ears and shout "Nuh UH! YOU'RE wrong!".
But I suppose the more he talks, the more people will see just how utterly ridiculous his position is. The only people who cling to it are those who cannot even cut-and-paste for themselves, let alomne make their own textures.
Glad I'm not the only reasonable individual in that thread, Glim. BTW, your son seems to have inherited your rational level-headedness. Well done.

Haha! He's even more foolhardy than I, with a heightened sense of the world's injustices, but he needs reigning in from time to time, as his reasoning skills need to mature a little. I refer to my son! Lol! Looking back over this I realized who I was referring to might be confusing.
Hunter, you really would be excellent as a moderator. I'm amazed how clear and to the heart of the matter your reasoning is. I'm just glad you're on the side of the artist, as I'd truly give up if you were against the forum rules. Lol! I still come away from discussions like that feeling depressed and wondering why I bother continuing.
Thanks again, mate. :smile.gif:

I love the glowstone! It has almost a stained glass quality to it. Great for decorating with interior lights.
Thanks tastyfreddytg12! :smile.gif:
It was sort of chosen by users from a long list of potential lantern like textures I did, and the majority felt that the slight organic connotation would be more practical in many situations, it's also got 'art nouveau' qualities, so fits in very well with Victorian Steampunk.
I'm uploading some new pics of epic builds by users to the OP soon, and you'll see some great architectural uses that the glowstone has been put to.
Can i get this in 64x plz 32x makes my eye´s bleed
Let me just check in the back sir....
...Nope! Sorry sir, I'm all out I'm afraid!
Flippancy aside, I started this at 32x32 because in my opinion it's a good compromise between too much and too little detail in a cube form world. Though I like mobs and gui's to be in higher resolutions (because they're up close and personal) I prefer 32x32 for epic scale building rather than adventuring, because I believe as you go higher with the resolution, you also exaggerate the sharpness of the edges of the blocks and create more moire patterns and tiling issues. It's an optical illusion that only my eyes may see, but for the mechanics of Minecraft I believe 32x32 is just about right for the building side of the game. As I primarily make this pack for myself, but allow others on these forums to use it, I have to remain true to what I think looks best or I'll quickly lose motivation. :smile.gif:
Similarly I personally don't feel comfortable at 16x16, because I would find it difficult to cram in sufficient detail for the gadgety nature of this theme, so I believe 32x32 is just about perfect for what I want to do. With my limited time, I wouldn't be able to start a pack over again, even if I thought it would be a good idea...I'm struggling to complete this one at the moment, lol! Sadly, however I understand you asking, but if you've already got used to using 64x64 and above, you're probably never going to like something with less detail, or that might just be me. :sad.gif:
If I win the lottery and get the chance to retire, I may have sufficient time to start a higher resolution pack out of curiosity, but as I don't gamble and I'm a poor starving artist in real life, it's probably not going to happen. I reserve the right to contradict myself, discover that i really do like 64x64 res textures, and show myself up for the silly person I really am.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm merely on the side of what is right and just. Too many people feel as if they can do whatever they wish, heedless of the rights of others. Anyone should understand and agree with the notion that "my right to swing my fist ends at your chin", but too many people around here are more like Eric Cartman shouting "whutevuh! I'll do whut I wun'!"
The Creator gave me a formidable intellect and excellent verbal skills, if I can use them to make the world a better place I'm glad to. If that means tearing a new hole for some idiot, well, that's just icing on the cake. :smile.gif:
