Running around a bit with rain on using zombe's mod pack to keep it raining, I would agree that if it's raining it's raining or snowing everywhere with the exception of deserts. My old world that I mentioned with the rain had grass there but it was pre-biome so I assume it's a desert biome there.
So pretty much it's what everyone else said, except no rain at all in desert biomes. This would explain my 'phantom zone' on my old map and KSheep's beach, which in all likelyhood is a mini desert biome.
Just to verify, when you said you were going to fix the "Annoying gray line you missed on the snow", are you referring to the bottom of the dirt block when covered in snow? If not, would you mind tweaking the side of the snowy dirt, as it kinda clashes with the non-snowy dirt (see attached pic).

No, the darkish line I was refering to was along the edge of the top of the snow, there's a longish line about 7 pixels long that repeats annoyingly when you're aware of it. That's gone, but I bet I've created another pixel monster elsewhere! This is the problem with me not playing and building enough, I'm not 'living' with the textures as much as the rest of you guys:Notch:

that's the plan. then of course, make a couple of alt versions. I kinda took a break to see my new snow and rain and try to find a friggin slime to test a new one I made. All of which cannot be tested by just jumping in game...lol!
That's the time consuming thing, trying to find things naturally, so to speak. Normally I find mushrooms all over the place in a new world. As soon as I tried out some new ones could I find one? Lol! I did, eventually, but then only to be disappointed and not really like them as much as my old one's! :sad.gif:

I understand. I was always partial to the redstone pipes. It's an easy edit, so I have no problems with that. But sometime you should consider putting the pipes in the alternates.
Look back a couple of pages in this thread and d95 did a nice 'redstone pipe' re-edit with the new overlay that blended in with his version of some redstone pipe booster tracks too!
I will be re-introducing the pipes, not too disimilar to what they were before and d95's edit, but I just wanted to satisfy myself of what the possibilities were along with the booster tracks. I'm a little short of time again at the moment, but I'd like to try a few more variations of the booster tracks, involving piston like things along with the pipes. Shame that the booster track doesn't emit redstone particles when a cart is boosted over them.
As regards the rain, etc. I suppose I can expect all sorts of anomolies in my world which goes all the way back to early alpha days...June of 2010, but it's still going strong...mind you, I've had to replant I don't know how many trees to get rid of the connifer/oak hybrids after the new tree types were introduced.

Hey Glimm you may not want to hear this but there is already talk of new update from notch it may still be a few weeks b/c hes going through a list and tweaking bugs. He is also adding a map system which looks quite impressive from the screens he posted. Just giving you a heads up.

Yes! Saw that yesterday and also read about the upset over their plans for charging to mod! Lol!
The map system looks very nice and I like the idea of it being an 'item' rather than something that sits up in the corner of the screen. He was also saying it could lead on to books and possible handdrawn signs and things. I fancy the idea of having shelves/chests or wall mounted maps that we've collected ourselves on our travels. That would be quite cool. Even nicer if we could write on the map and name points of interest, but I suppose we already have that facility with MCmap, etc.
Another possibility is that you don't have it set to Fancy graphics. I tend to remember hearing that the side-grass color fix is only implemented when you have Fancy graphics turned on.
Oooh... that might explain that then. I just started, yet another, a new world last night, it's arctic, and I noticed the same thing. Tops a permafrost grey and the sides nice and green.

Looks quite impressive. A couple suggestions tho…
F1 will hide the HUD and item you're carrying, resulting in a cleaner picture.
Also, use simg tags instead of img tags, so that they show up better on the forum.
well I am sure glad I took those screenshots cause I just accidently burnt down my village with the tavern and the surrounding 63 acres of forest I planted...I think I may cry
