Also, I wasn't posting in an attempt to rush anyone, just wanted to show screenshots of the overlay working to spark the creative juices of others who might want to take a crack at it now that it's working again. Great texture pack, by the way. =)
Ha ha! I wasn't feeling rushed, mate, more worried that folk might have been expecting me to have immediately re-instated the redstone pipes this update, but as there seems to be new possibilites now with a separate overlay, and I'm so slow to realise the potential of some things, I just wanted folk to know that I would be 'experimenting' for a bit. My poor wording above might have seemed like a critiscism of you, but your help is much appreciated and certainly no discouragement was intended. :smile.gif: This place is often a hotbed of ideas and long may it continue.
Glad you like the pack by the way and welcome to the forums. :smile.gif:
[edit] and to prove the point...look how quick d95 has posted a variation with track fixes etc. Very nice, mate. takes a little pressure off me while I finish off the family holiday. Just drop d95's variation of the terrain, png file into Glimmar's Steampunk zip file. As soon as I can, I'll update the official download and the OP (lots of new stuff for that congealed mass of inspiration up there). :biggrin.gif:
I've been doing the "video card died and the new one + a night of building showed me how many mistakes a pack has" all night for mine. Somehow, all the wool + a few others were just "jacked" beyond repair. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone" now
On a brighter note though...what I am building is an attempt for your pack and mine to be able to be shot in a transitional video. Was fun til I saw my wool...lol!

Well you know you've got my sympathies, mate! When I first got this new comp up and running and couldn't get the monitor up to scratch and had to re-install everything, couldn't find anything, no time to do it in and everything in Minecraft looked foggy without fog on and knowing an update was imminent, well just imagine Basil Fawlty throwing a strop, that would be close to what I looked and felt like, I still can't find everything I thought I'd safely transferred across.
Don't break your back on the video work though, as interesting as that transitional vid sounds, I know how time consuming and frought with setbacks that can be. However, it does sound very interesting, but it'll just show up the mistakes in my pack!
Your pack is amazing, Gestankfaust, no worries there, mate! You just need time to adapt to any new look the video card is creating, you've also spent a lot of time on that superb animation work and it's too easy to reach a state of creative exhaustion. It's a real pain though when some bit of essential technology packs in just when you need it most. What card have you got now?
IMPORTANT!: Please use xau's MC Patcher mod to fix Minecraft HD texture glitches. (fire on bricks, gold, pumpkins and water in the Nether, etc.). Be aware there is a new improved 'beta' version linked at the top of xau's thread that works better in my opinion (once installed you can swap any size texture pack around without having to re-install Minecraft or re-patch), but read the instructions for installation carefully: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=46173
More pics and info on page 160 (I've updated the links there too)
Ugh, CraftBukkit still isn't updated to the new version of SMP, so I am stuck waiting.
But the pics everyone has posted and of course the terrain.png you posted Glimmar leaves me panting in sweaty anticipation of when I'll be able to bask in the steampunky glory that is Glimmar's Texture Pack!
I uploaded a new video of the exterior of my rendition of the Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's infamous pirate ship. AND, I do a bit of narration...nothing fantasical, but I like telling people what's what...LOL
BoneHead is hard at work building or finishing the interiors of QAR so I'll be making a video of that as well...not sure how to overcome the darkness so the video isn't a total blackout...

Love the Fawlty Towers reference...I wish that show had gone on a lot longer then it did
I like the new track pipe design you did, that's quite convenient when trying to keep it all in one style. to you sir.
WARNING WALL OF PICTURE INCOMING
First things first, it might not be very important bu because of the "dimensions" of tracks there seem to be some distortions with the redstone when looking at some angles.
Normal Angle:
Other Angle:
But I guess it's just a slight distortion so it doesn't really matter.
What does matter is block 30.
I know Glimmar has already changed it from custom but I believe it doesn't go well with the spiders we have so, since Glimmar still has lots to do, would someone else try to make it more Steam-Punky. Also, for those who wonders, this spiderweb is:
1. Not found in the wild. (You must edit your inventory to get it.
2. Sticks to your shoes. (Slows you down.
3. When destroyed it stays intact and it doesn't seem to craft in anyway. (Maybe to make some strings in the future. Web->Strings->Cloth

Are you really high? Cause at some height it doesn't show anymore... or maybe you deleted or emptied your terrain.png
I don't really post much but i am a large fan of this pack and until recently as in the 1.5 update i had now problems but when i repatched the pack multiple problems have arisen. The texture for the redstone wire, new saplings, and new tracks don't work, the redstone show up as the S and T from Steampunk and the new tracks, and new saplings show up purple squares. the grass sides don't work they resemble green obsidian and to top it off when i try to access the Stats the game crashes. I ran the ropes many times and the same out come can anyone out there help i would be so grateful

Download the new version of the texture pack, that should fix most of the problems.
thank you SO much for fixing the wool glitches! it had its advantages of allowing me to see through the wall/floor/ceiling i placed it against but it was annoying for building! this is by far the BEST mod i have ever used! i'm picky about my mods, because most of the ones i've tried...(mario, zelda, etc) i end up removing because i cant see through the glass! this one is perfect! i'm in love with steampunk so this one fits me perfectly! thank you so much!!!!
*edited*
well, maybe not so perfect. the compass doesn't seem to be working -smirks- might wanna look into that one :smile.gif:

Curse PremiumThis version fixes the booster track (basically just swapping them round to the correct position):
Glimmars Steampunk Version 2.2 for Minecraft 1.5_01
Glimmar's Steampunk v2.2 on MediaFire
Glimmar's Steampunk v2.2 on RapidShare
