I'm a big fan of the texture pack (2.0 FTW !!!) and made a couple of things by going overboard with the iron block. I have to say I'm eager to see the wolf skin in-game when i can get back on my server. Anyways I have no idea why but I felt I need goggles so I doodled around with Vondell's leather armor and added Goggles, a re-breather w/backpack unit, and a few copper plates. Currently I'm using them as my iron armors. I would use it in place of chain-mail but since you can't craft chain-mail without fire, I added them as iron_1 and _2 . Going to post them here.
Well this is my first attempt at anything like this and other than the face stuff, I had no idea what I was doing. I also don't have enough skill to convert it for the inventory thumbnail. The arms feel kinda messy so i may go back and change it to be similar to the legs. Oh and crotched the pants since they have a higher armor value now xD. If Vondell wants me to take this down send me a PM. Other than that feel free to use them however you want.
@ Everyone: who has posted their thanks...you are very welcome! :smile.gif:
@ Gestankfaust: My brain's long since been pickled and put on the shelf. You'll find it amongst the dye jars in my texture pack. :biggrin.gif:
@ nerdboy64: Ha ha! I like the idea of you clicking the refresh button! Lol! You could do that on the texture pack thread section, then my viewing figures would be even higher! :tongue.gif:
The clockwork steamwolves make good animatronic brass statues on plinthes when you don't want them underfoot all teh time. Imagine a grand hall lined with them all turning to watch you as you pass! Have them guard your treasure room too. :smile.gif:
@ ReaperofDeath: Thanks, mate. always appreciate your encouragement. :smile.gif:
@ Croco15: You have amazing abilities!
Don't forget my ideas don't exist in a vacuum, they usually come from brainstorming with you guys, and Minecraft was the game i waited all my life for (I guess I'm a bit sad really) so I try not to waste any time to have a good tinker. :biggrin.gif:
@ fwxbit: I like an insane artist! :biggrin.gif:
@ aageon: Thanks so much, mate. I couldn't resist trying to do something special for the wolf...the theme demanded it, but I probably fiddled a bit too much. There's more detail on it than really needs to there, but it's given me more confidence to tackle other mob edits...so a useful exercise.
I'm glad you're not abandoning the forums entirely, aageon, but still very sad your not able to maintain your texture packs for the next few months...a big loss to the community! I'm excited to hear about your other endeavours outside Minecraft though, as I'm confident they'll be very successfull. :smile.gif:
@ techasquirrel: That's a nice bit of armour, mate and love the look of the goggles! I'm sure Vondell won't mind and I've added them to my 'working' texture pack as alternatives for the next update. I doubt I'll have time to make a start on some 'offical' armour for the next pack upload, so something else for folk to try out.
Oh...welcome to the forum too, mate. :smile.gif:
@ d95: I didn't know about the lightning bolts. Hehee! That should be marvellously atmospheric (pun not intended) for this and Gestank's pack.
It would be wonderful if the lightening could be harnessed to power things! I shall be using my 'time machine bed' the diodes and redstone wiring along with the pistons to make my tribute to Mary Shelly's 'Frankenstein'...can't wait!
There should be enough alternative textures in my pack, along with the usual stuff (my gadgety paintings too!) to make quite a convincing 18th century Laboratory on a hill. Should have it finished by Halloween! Lol! :biggrin.gif:
The sun is shining beautifully here, so I'm off to do some real gardening and then tonight I'm just going to tinker updating some of my favourite mods and seeing what's what! have a nice weekend everyone. :smile.gif:

You sound like you have such a nice, relaxing life style, good for you!
Really like the wolves too! So awesome!
Also can't wait for 1.5, definitely going to bring a welcome change of atmosphere (pun intended) to minecraft!
i think theres something wrong with my minecraft save when ever i try to open two certain chests the game freezes and crashes all the other chests work fine whats wrong ??
Ooo! Now that's very interesting, oddbaall, because I had that happen to my main treasure chest and in the end I had to delete it using an editor. Every time I tried to get in the chest it locked up. I lost huge amounts of gold and all my other precious items.
I do hope it's nothing to do with something I've edited on my items sheet! That's the only thing that would be different. I was assuming it was just a freak glitch that occurred in my world or something to do with Notch's update. I'm still hoping it's a bug that crept in via Notch, perhaps to do with those April Fools chests he created, but I would really appreciate it if someone could look into this.
I'd hate to think I might have caused something to happen. All my other chests have been fine, so I can only assume it's something to do with the rarer items we find in game. I also stored some materials like ores, etc. that I'd edited into the game for texturing display purposes (coal and diamond blocks, etc.) so perhaps Notch has changed something there.
My sincere apologies if this is something to do with my recent edit. Would the addition of a simple extra biscuit on the item's sheet cause this? Surely not. paranoia time!
Glimmar, I'ma send you some "Armor" To work with, mostly including fancy suits, uniforms of the period and what not. That seems to be my major forte right now in Minecraft, you mind?
'MCEdit'...allowed me to delete the offending chest. I was hoping it would allow me to examine the contents of the chest, then I could have fairly edited them back in to the game using 'INVedit'.
I'm going to load up an old save I have of my world, minus the wolves and see if I can get in the chest that way. If there's still a problem, I'll try the 1.9.1 verson of my pack and see if I can get in with that. If that fixes it, then unfortunately the problem of the lock-up will have been caused by something in my pack, as I don't as yet have any mods installed other than the new beta MC Patcher!

No problem mate. I will probably start from scratch for my own armour types, but I could perhaps put yours, if appropriate, in the 'extras' folder. :smile.gif:
That offending chest is from the balloon/airship mods I'll bet on it. It happened to me. When the items made for the airship are left in a chest, then you reinstall MC or uninstall the mods without deleting the items, and then see the items anywhere in game, it crashes. The game is trying to render an object that doesn't exist.
I have chest specifically for airship/mod materials labeled now
:biggrin.gif:
Oh...and Invedit won't help as it won't see the items for the airship mods...at least when I tried it wouldn't

You're a star mate!!
That is exactly where I did put my airship! Oh well, that at least saves me from doing a lot of needless searching. That's the first time I've experienced any hiccups with the remains of a mod before, so it just didn't figure. As usual I look to my own ineptitude and befuddled brain when something goes wrong.
So I'm reckonning I can install my latest backup world, re-install pchan's airship mod just in case there's an airship or two in the offending chest, make sure I don't save any airships again (or at least remember to delete them inbetween updates) and go wolf hunting! Right, that's my Saturday night sorted! :smile.gif:
Thanks again, mate. Once again you come to the rescue.
What's funny is how I got rid of it. I had done too much work to want to reinstall, but knew what was wrong with the chest as there were two (and one was labeled).
I put TNT next to it and ran, never looking back (so as not to see the item in game...no seriously). I then went to another area (thought I was a chunk away) and waited for a whole day. When I returned...CRASH! But I had saved just before I got within site. So I reloaded, went to the Nether and back, returned to the spot of the chest to find a hole...and no crash
:biggrin.gif:

I have pictures of my new Metalcraft! Using the metal biome and Gestankfaust's Metal texture sheet, my world is completely iron! (and brass and copper and gold... you get the idea.)
I didn't have any bones to train those poor wolves sadly :sad.gif:

Ha ha! The things you have to do in this!
Well I've learned my lesson. Don't put your treasured mod items in the same chest as your actual treasure. Oh, and don't put all your eggs in one chest!

Sneak peek of 1.5 is up.
Got any plans on steampunkifying the rain or snow, our are you just gonna use the standard?
Nah! i don't think so, unless someone comes up with an amazing idea. I still like things to feel real and I love what mojang have done with the weather. The rain and lightning looked much better than I thought they would. :smile.gif:

Hey! That's cool. :smile.gif: I really like Gestank's metal texture too...pure win! Makes for a superb metal world grass alternative.

Many thanks, TheOnlyEpicWolf.
Sorry 'bout the lava. One of these days I might get it right. I like it best so far, but I reckon lava is a very personal thing and everyone's idea for what it should look like is different, and of course mine isn't properly animated either.

Use the HD Texture Patcher, should fix it right up.
