Glimmar: Thanks so much for your reply. I reinstalled Extreme paintings, but still having the same problem with the pictures in certain spots not working. It's certainly seeing the new kz file and using some of the pictures, just not others. Weird. It's not like it's hard to install or anything. And when I put Punch a picture in my game, it freezes so that's a no go.
I am still running minecraft 1.3, waiting for my favorite mods to update. I guess I'll have to contend with the older kz file you did. It still adds a lot to the look of the game.
I know someone said Dalek Creepers, and something has to be a Dalek, but think about it - if you take your eyes off a creeper, BOOM! Don't even blink, blink and you're dead.
Personally, I think steampunk is a fitting theme for the Doctor. Not sure if the third Doctor's car (Bessie!) really qualifies, maybe, but the seventh Doctor's pocketwatch was certainly very interesting. (Not at all like the pocketwatches in the new series, no.) Also, the fourth Doctor's 'secondary control room', the one made of wood. That thing was gorgeous, oh yes.
I think I need to get to building myself a bigger-on-the-inside base in my next world.
I must say I love this pack for general adventuring. I'm not skilled enough to build steam-punk style constructions, however, my little manor looks great with this pack. This was my first texture pack and I have never strayed away from it for long. Mad props to you.
Thanks, The13th. My update is coming soon...just working on the gui side of things...so hope you'll like the new edits and new toys.

By the way, I really like your steamwolf!
You really shouldn't be having problems if you're still using beta 1.3, so I'm not sure what's going on there, mate, and I'm disappointed for you. Very occasionally I would get a lock up with the Punch-a-Pic mod, more like extremely rarely and it was only when trying to place something over a torch. I take it you've tried installing the Xtreme mod over a clean 1.3 install (assuming you have a clean backup of the 1.3 version). I've not had chance to see if it's been upgraded to work with 1.4 yet.
The steamwolf is working very well blending in with the rest of the decor. The nice thing is they make wonderful moving animatronic style statues set into alcoves or sitting on plinthes. Glad you like the look of 'em. :smile.gif:
@ Faizah: I have to agree with you about the 'creeping/weeping' angels. Creepers definately only appear when you've got your back to them!
I very much look forward to any Doctor Who themed constructions, there are definate leanings to steampunk in the series of recent years. :smile.gif:

Don't be hard on yourself...I never really built anything at all really until after using this pack. Not that I've really built any "Steampunk" stuff (I can't can't help if I like monsters and weird stuff).
On another note, I've managed to "finalize" the Metal Glimzarro World. So thought I'd put it up again along with a link for the 1.9.1 pack version (will update when Glimm does...for the doggies).
*Note that all textures are still Glimmar's here. Everything I "tweaked" was merely for Frankenstein purposes to make a more "believable" world (as if). The new "Sludge" lava...I think was grass at one time :biggrin.gif:
*Edit - The dead fish instead of a lily pad was mine :tongue.gif:
I totally overlooked this, mate! Looks awesome and I'd like to use it in the 'extras' folder in the texture pack if I may. You've put a lot of work into that.
My apologies, Jonathan_Kent, that I only discovered it when going back over stuff folk have posted, to see what I can include in the next update.
No worries, threads this awesome and fast moving are hard to keep tabs on.

I would be *honored* indeed to be included in your extras folder. :smile.gif:

Hey Glimmar, are you going to re-do the steel, gold and diamond armors in the future? Their rather plain look doesn't fit this steampunk goodness pack if you know what I mean :biggrin.gif:

Thanks, mate. it's in the 'extras' folder now along with two other terrain versions from Gestankfaust (Gestank, does the terrain.png file above have anything new to the one you posted a few pages back?...cos I already included that one. Don't worry, I'll check it mate and thanks again for posting them).
On the subject of armour and the token character. Yes I want to have a go at those sometime and I agree with you that the low res 16x16 or 32x32 equivalent scales just don't do them justice, so I will be using a higher res. Landscape is fine at 32x32 in my opinion, but if you look at the equivalent mobs at the same res. the squares are much bigger than the blocks they stand on, but at 64x64 mob skins are almost exactly the same size.
My Glimmar Wolf or Steam wolf (undecided on what to call it, but it wil be one or the other) is 256x128 so is 4x Notch's default size, but is just a nice size to work with. That doesn't mean I'm interested in doing a 64x64 terrain.png sheet. 32x32 to my eyes is just a nice size for good tiling in the landscape and for viewing mega builds. :smile.gif:
(Gestank, does the terrain.png file above have anything new to the one you posted a few pages back?...cos I already included that one. Don't worry, I'll check it mate and thanks again for posting them).
Yeah. I just added a couple new things, fixed some other things that looked weird, and switched a couple things around....things
Just included the terrain to the 1.9.1 pack to make it easier to use with the new patcher. Now you can just choose from the list to switch Glimzarro Worlds :biggrin.gif:

and to hide little errors eh? haha ^^ blasphemy that I say that eh ;D
Lol! There's no escaping the blockiness of Minecraft. :biggrin.gif:
There are always going to be imperfections, particularly when it comes to tiling, but the bigger you get with your block size, the more apparent tiling issues will creep in due to the additional detail, unless you're going for a minimilistic 'Animal Crossing' look.
Hi-res block=very pleasing close up, low-res block=unsatisfactory detail close up. Reverse that formula for distance and epic builds and add in the factors of colour, style and theme. This is my personal opinion of course and everyone is different and looking for different things in the game. I would not presume for one minute to think that what looks good to me, should also look good to others.
However, I do think that in this age of high resolution gaming, too many fall into the trap of thinking more pixels is always better. You have to consider the style and theme of the game you're playing and even what you're building with it. Of course more pixels for an immersive fantasy Oblivian/Fallout 3 game is better, but it doesn't necessarily follow that more pixels is always better for a sandbox game with sharp edged blocks! What's great about Minecraft though, is that it appeals to a wide range of creative folk (many with a survival/explorer streak to their personality) and we're all different and all want different things from the game.
In summing up today's gentle rant...it's always about what looks good for you.:smile.gif:
Yep, you'll find plenty of errors in my pack and I'm proud of 'em all.

On your's and Gestank's recommendation, I've just had another go with the beta patcher and it has worked a dream... and with my custom water too! So as soon as I get this update out I will give 'Glimzarro World' a whirl. I'm only including the terrain.png file for it in the 'extras' folder of my pack as an alternative texture.
Pipehead, it sounds like you've got your Minecraft mojo back!
I downloaded both modpatcher and glimmars, and I've seen some recent videos of people on YT running it on 1.4 successfully. Damned if I could figure out what I did wrong though, so I included a screen shot as I'm sure someone with more experience will recognize my error. (not all the cube sides are desplaying properly?)
(this is starting with a brand new bin file, no mods installed, just the text-pack installed in the .jar, and modpatcher)

Joe, you've downloaded a very early version of my pack there. Download the latest from one or other of the two download links (version 1.9.1) on page 1 of this thread and obviously don't forget to patch with xau's MC Patcher...link near the downloads.
I am about to upload Glimmar's Steampunk version 2.0 soon (next couple of days!) so if you don't want to keep changing, you might want to wait for that. :smile.gif:

Just wanted to say I love this texture pack. It's my favorite. It makes all my creation look super sweet. You're work is most excellent. The glowstone and ores are my favorite parts. Keep it up and I can't wait to see what else you can do :smile.gif:
PS. on a personal note. I'd love to see what you could do for a texture pack for IndustrialCraft. I think they mesh really well together, just not very well texture wise, since IC only uses 16x16 textures. XD

Given unlimited time I'd love to do something Steampunk for the IndustrialCraft mod. I've had my eye on it for a while, but I never get the time to really play and experiment anymore, which is what I need to do to get a feel for something. Just when I think I might have a break, Notch goes and updates again! Lol! I'm told he's not doing a major upgrade again until June? Not sure if that's true, but I may get the chance to play yet, except this is the time I get busier in the real world. I'm never bored though!
