If you were to update it tonight with just the skin for cookies and keep the joke chest the same as a normal chest i would be happy...

Aint no grave gonna hold my body down, when I here those trumpets sound I'm gonna rise right outta the ground, aint no grave, gonna hold my body down...
You sir have earned the respect of the trans Russian-American sky fleet.
May notch bless all ships cast in your name!
Many thanks for the vote of confidence from such a epic sounding organisation/force. I'm intrigued by this 'trans Russian-American sky fleet'...now that really does sound steampunky.

Ah ha I must begin work on your ship... it will be the first of it's kind. A solid iron hulled ship! Yes that will be most fitting for a man of your stature!

Dear Glimmar,
First of all i would like to say this texture pack is just simply AMAZING
there is however one problem i have with it, the torches barely give off any light. Whe i place torches they are only giving off like 3 blocks radius of light? is it just me or are the torches darker on this texture pack.

Texture packs can't alter the amount of light given off. It only seems dimmer because the textures are darker.
Solution...MC Patcher correctly applied over a fresh download of Minecraft. I've found xau's mcpatcher-1.1.12_02 to still be the best version for patching my pack. I can't get custom water or lava to work with xau's new experimental beta version of the patcher and I suspect if the water and lava isn't being patched correctly, it may also effect the compass and the watch. :smile.gif:

I love this pack, can't wait to see what you do with the wolves and cookies! :biggrin.gif:
Thanks, Arkonvol. :smile.gif:
I'm working on and off this weekend on an update. Weekends are busy times for my family I'm afraid, so don't expect anything quick! Sorry. :sad.gif:

As ksheep says, it's not possible to effect the ammount of light coming from the torches. If I've time I may put a lighter version of the terrain.png file in the update as an alternative (meaning you'll have to pull it out of the 'extras' folder and drop it into the zip file root) for folks to try out. Or you could bung it in an editor and turn the light level of the entire file up a few notches and see what happens.
Bear in mind though that the torches are supposed to be gas lamps in this theme pack and traditionally they were very dim by comparison with today's street lamps. Notches original torches are unnaturally bright, in my humble opinion, and we've all got used to those light levels. It's part of the atmosphere I was trying for from the outset...that of a kind of Sherlock Holmes/Jack the Ripper kind of world of dimly lit cobbled streets and polluted water...that's my excuse anyway.

Ooooh Glimmar... I have a little something for you. title/mclogo.png
I hope you don't mind, I took your logo at the top of the thread and made it into an in-game logo for the pack.
That's amazing, mate. Thank you very much and of course I don't mind. Could I use this in the next update?
I never really looked into that screen apart from the background, but has something changed with the new 'Minecraft' title screen? I thought it was only possible to edit the background with a repeating texture.
I must admit Notch's new Minecraft title texture fits in beautifully with the Steampunk theme...it feels...somehow...more metallic, in my opinion! :smile.gif:

Figured I'd post my own picture :smile.gif:
And yes I realize it doesn't have any balloons, it's not supposed to.
Great stuff, hentai666.
How'd you get everything so flat in the landscape?
Now, again, enough waffle from me, back to a little bit of work on the steampunk wolf, before ferrying the kids hither and thither.
Please be aware that this texture pack is a constant work in progress. Many things still need to be finished, edited, improved, aside from the update I'm now working on, but unpaid:
a. I work where the inspiration takes me and things are hand drawn with a little inspiration from Google.
b. I'm mostly inspired by industrial steampunk/victorian terrain.png textures.
c. I mostly only play on peaceful, unless I need a bit of silk...I like to do things the hard way!
d. I only like to mine, build and see what other epic things users build with my textures.
e. I'm not very motivated to edit things like mobs, gui's and armour, but I may/will be.
f. I'm currently finishing off the 'items' sheet when not updating. Then I might move on to gui's and mobs.
g. I don't have lots of spare time and what I have may be dwindling! :sad.gif:
h. Please don't keep asking me why I haven't finished something...read over points a-f again.
As mentioned I'm currently working on an update, which is taking longer because of my attempts to do something nice by way of a steampunk wolf, biscuit and new particles. That was one of the reasons I produced so many new textures recently...oh! and there's a new gui for the dispenser, some new items, possibly a new boat, new biome colours for those who haven't already downloaded them, lots of little tweaks to the terrain.png and lots of alternative things in the 'extras' folder.
Incredible, everything looks amazing, but i have a small problem. If i use this pack for a while then switch to a normal pack (gerudoku/misa's HD) everything looks like a cluster**** of random netherrack and pictures, ect, ect. So im not going to use this, its too, for lack of a better word, limiting. However if your the kind of person that picks a texture pack and keeps it all the time, go ahead and get this, just be warned people will be confused as hell in smp when you build something :smile.gif:
Erm your ship is ready but I cant get the pictures up can some one lend a hand?
